The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 coupe carries a 6.2L Supercharged V8 DI engine making 650 horses and 650 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed manual with the available option of 10-speed automatic transmission (paddle shifters) directs power to rear wheels (RWD).

The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 does the 0-60 sprint in 3.7 seconds which is the same time as the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat widebody, but 0.4 seconds slower than the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The 2021 Camaro ZL1 does the standing quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds and will achieve a top speed of 200 mph.

The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 coupe gives fuel economy numbers of 14 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway and a combined of 16 mpg. The Dodge Challenger SRT hellcat gives the same combined mpg, but the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 gives 14 mpg combined, 2 mpg lesser than the Camaro ZL1.

However, when the 2021 Camaro ZL1 comes equipped with the 10-speed automatic transmission, the fuel economy numbers are 13 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, same as the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody. The ZL1 comes with a fuel capacity of 19 gallons, allowing it to have more range than the competition.

The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1's interior can seat 4 occupants. The front row seats are Recaro Performance 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat and 6-way power-adjustable front passenger seat which comes with heating and ventilation functions and feature leather with Alcantara inserts and red stitching. 

The interior comes with a few options these include - red seatbelts ($195), Carbon fiber instrument panel trim ($500), floor mats, and a few accessories. The Camaro ZL1 comes with a cargo capacity of 9.1 cu.ft. which is lesser than the Shelby GT500 and the Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody.

   The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 features an 8-inch touchscreen with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system, this system is available on all other Camaro variants. The interface includes the new wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, voice commands, cloud connectivity for in-vehicle apps. 

For an additional $495, you can have Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium System, which only is available on the ZL1 models, which adds Navigation, enhanced voice recognition, SiriusXM Satellite radio, Bluetooth audio streaming for 2 active devices, and cloud-connected personalization for select vehicle settings.

The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes with more aggressive styling compared to the standard Camaro with a honeycomb grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, LED running headlights, rear spoiler, dual exhausts on each side of the diffuser, slightly flared fenders and ZL1 badging. On the exterior for the 2021 model is the new paint option of Wild Cherry.

With the addition of a color option, saw the removal of Rally green Mettalic and Granet Red. There is the package of ZL1 1LE Track Performance Package which includes 19-inch black wheels, new front splitter, satin black hood, rear-view mirrors in black, also a carbon fiber hood insert and rear spoiler, with new brake calipers coming in red. 

In terms of dimensions, the Camaro ZL1 is 190.2 inches in length, 2 inches more than the standard Camaro. However, it is the same length as the Shelby GT500 but shorter in length and wheelbase by 7.3-inches and 5.3-inches than the Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody.

The Shelby GT500 also offers more legroom n the front and more cargo space as well, Additionally, it is a newer car in the market as compared to the Camaro and costs $9,000 more than the Camaro ZL1. But, we still say the Shelby GT500 is a better car.
