The 2021 Aviator comes powered by a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 that churns out 400 hp. The interiors of the 2021 Lincoln Aviator are laid out luxuriously with 3 rows of seating and 18.3 cu-ft of cargo space in the back. While buying an older model is a viable option for the price-conscious people, leasing it also cost effective. To lease it for 36 months with an annual mileage cap of 10,500 miles, you will have to pay $5,220 as downpayment. Then you will just have to pay $561/month, and have the option to buy it at the end of the lease period. Currently it competes against the likes of Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, and Cadillac XT6.
From the available trim levels, the Reserve trim with a sticker price of $57,110 is the perfect value for money option to jump on the Aviator bandwagon. It comes with the majority of the upscale features of the moniker and yet does not climb too much in terms of price. But if money is no object and you want the absolute best of the 2021 Aviator has to offer, then the Black Label trim priced at $78,865 is the one to pick.

The Lincoln Aviator's 400-hp twin-turbo V-6 is among the most powerful standard engines in the mid-size luxury SUV segment.- CarAndDriver
The 2021 Lincoln Aviator gets a class-leading 3.0L Twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 400hp and 415 lb-ft of torque, making the Aviator the most powerful mid-size SUV in the segment. The V6 in the Aviator is coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission, making the driving experience seamless. The 3.0L V6 monster under the hood of the 2021 Lincoln Aviator makes the power delivery smooth. The gears can be shifted via paddle shifters or by Piano key shifters that display the gears in a horizontal layout rather than a traditional shift pattern, unique to the Lincoln brand vehicles.
The 2021 Lincoln Aviator comes with an option of RWD or AWD in the lower trims, while the Grand Touring and above trims come with AWD as standard. The Grand Tour and the rest of the above trims also come with an additional 100hp electric motor with a 13.6Kwh battery, totaling the horsepower in the Aviator to 492hp. The 2021 Lincoln Aviator can go from 0-60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, which is way faster than the other rivals in the segment. The quarter-mile takes 13.7 seconds as you are thrust back into the seats.
The Aviator is capable of delivering a class-leading tow capacity of 7,000 pounds, meaning towing your boat to the lake is not a problem for this speedboat. The 2021 Lincoln Aviator gets 13.6-inch brake rotors in the front and 13.8-inch rotors in the rear. These massive brakes and an unconventional setup can bring the Aviator to a dead stop, from 60 mph in a mere distance of 119 ft. Considering that the Aviator has a curb weight of almost 4,800 lbs, the brakes are very efficient.

Compared to the rivals, the Lincoln Aviator outperforms the segment in terms of power by some great margin. Thanks to this burst of power it also takes first place in the 0-60 mph and quarter-mile drag. The Cadillac XT6 takes second place on paper and the 0-60 mph. The Audi Q7 has the least amount of power but actually manages to find itself in third place in terms of accelerating to 60 mph. The Volvo XC90 takes some time to find its groove but quickly picks up the pace to reach second place in the quarter-mile from not placing altogether in the 0-60 mph drag.
The massive engine of the 2021 Lincoln Aviator does make a compromise with the fuel efficiency. In the city driving conditions, the Aviator does about 18 MPG and on the freeways, it bumps up to 26 MPG. This grants the 2021 Aviator a combined mileage of 21 MPG. Though these figures are not respectable by any standard, they are enough to get the job done.
Clubbed to a 20.2-gallon fuel tank, the 2021 Lincoln Aviator offers an overall combined driving range of 424 miles. At its best on the highways, the driving range stands at 525 miles. If you just love the Aviator and want better MPG figures, then the best option would be to spring for the Grand Touring models, i.e., Aviator Hybrid which offers 23 MPG combined.

Luxurious touches like real metal accents or wood trim help endow the Lincoln’s cabin with a sense of opulence.- Cars.USNews
The interior of the 2021 Lincoln Aviator follows the lineup of its $100,000 brother, the Lincoln Navigator. The interior feels premium and luxurious. The front seats take the comfort game a step further with their 30-way Power adjustments integrated into the seats and can be altered via the infotainment screen. The leg, shoulder, and head room are ample enough for tall passengers but the third-row feels a little more cramped and is nothing out of the ordinary. Both the front and second-row seats come with massage functions.Â
A lot of the functionality is integrated into the infotainment screen. Even the warning chimes and different sounds are specially created for the Lincoln to differentiate it from other Ford Products. The Aviator also comes with heated seats and steering wheel. It is also fitted with ambient lighting which can be controlled via the infotainment screen and changes its color to red when a door is open. The cabin of the Aviator is also loaded with Four-way climate control with second-row as captain chairs.

Compared to other SUVs in the segment, Aviator is the longest and widest in length and one of the heaviest too. The Aviator also provides the widest wheelbase and ride height. The Aviator offers a ground clearance of 8.6” inches and the car automatically lowers as you walk toward it by 2” inches to keep it comfortable for you to get in and increases its ride height as soon as you start the engine.
In terms of safety, the 2021 Lincoln Aviator absolutely sets the precedent for its competitors. The 2021 Lincoln Aviator comes with a perfect safety rating of 5-stars from the NHTSA. The IIHS has granted the ride an overall rating of "Good". It is also worth noting that it was the 2020 Top Safety Pick by the IIHS for its category.
All of these accolades have been possible because of the spectacular and top of the line safety features that it comes with. From active safety features to secondary driver assistance features, the ride does not leave any stone unturned to keep the occupants safe for the price it asks. The following are the notable safety features of the 2021 Lincoln Aviator:
In terms of Exterior, the 2021 Audi Q7 reflects a corporate and aggressive look while the Aviator gets more swoopy curves and lines. This grants it a more premium feel for a slightly higher price tag. The Audi features a much more featured and modern cabin space while the Lincoln focuses on pure luxury. The only thing we found better in the Audi than the Lincoln was the driving feel and response that the Audi gives while the Steering response on the Lincoln feels a little numb due to all electronic gadgets under its hood. Still, the Aviator outrights the Audi in its game with sheer power under the hood and a much more aggressive throttle response and a bang for the buck build.
Though looks are subjective, the Scandinavian flair of the 2021 Volvo XC90 does look subtle and better than the bold looks of the Lincoln Aviator. The Volvo also offers three powertrain options including a Hybrid one, and also focuses on safety. The interior comes with a better infotainment system and is more spacious in the third row. That being said, the 2021 Lincoln Aviator offers more power, a far more luxurious cabin that is also comfortable and thus presents itself as a much better overall package for the price as compared to the Volvo XC90.
The 2021 Cadillac XT6 might remind you of the 2021 Escalade because of its overall design cues. With eye to luxury from GMC's flagship auto brand, the XT6 also tries to live up to the expectations of the buyers. The only one that is fairly more powerful than the Europeans, the XT6 also offers a great driving experience. In terms of safety, the Caddy is the only one better than the Aviator since it garnered the 2020 Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS. Priced only slightly higher than its fellow American, the Cadillac is surely worth buying if you want safety more than luxury.
To sum it up and wrap this in a bow, the 2021 Lincoln Aviator is basically the smaller down version of the luxurious Navigator. The Aviator presents a polished turbocharged V-6 powertrain that is the most powerful in its segment. With the most focus on the luxury of the interior and also on curb appeal, it forms the perfect value for money package for its asking prices.
Hence, if you are on the market for a powerful and upscale high rider, then the 2021 Lincoln Aviator just might be the one that can carry the weight of your expectations and actually fulfill them amply.
