The 2021 Lincoln Navigator was released in fall 2020 and remained unchanged from the 2020 model year. This year, 4 new colors and a new optional Monochromatic appearance package have been introduced. Available for sale in 3 trims, Standard, Reserve, and Black Label, the prices start from $76,185. The interior remains spacious and comfortable throughout. For more space, there is the long-wheelbase Lincoln Navigator L with a starting price of $84,925.
Remaining completely unchanged from the 2020 model year, the 2021 Lincoln Navigator, is available for sale now. Released in Fall 2020, the prices also remain the same at a starting MSRP of $76,185. Based on the Ford Expedition, the Navigator gets a 3.5L turbocharged V6 that churns out 350 hp. Currently, this Lincoln is offered in three trims, Standard, Reserve, and the Black Label. However, the interior luxury quotient is spectacular with the 2021 Lincoln Navigator Black Label priced at $98,125.
There is the long-wheelbase variant, the 2021 Lincoln Navigator L carrying a price tag of $84,925. All of the trims also extract a destination fee of $1,295 which is non-negotiable. The lease price starts from $844/month for 39 months after a deposit of $8,592. Presently, the 2021 Lincoln Navigator competes with the BMW X7, the bad boy Cadillac Escalade, and the Ford Expedition, with an honorable mention to the Mercedes Benz GLS-Class and the Lexus LX 570.
For $81,965, the Reserve trim of the 2021 Lincoln Navigator strikes the right bargain for the price. It gets the bigger 22-inch wheels and more luxury and creature comfort features like the heated and ventilated seats in the interior. When compared to rivals like the Cadillac Escalade or BMW X7, a similarly specced out build goes well over 85 grand!

You won’t miss a V-8 in the Lincoln Navigator.- The Car Connection
The 2021 Lincoln Navigator is powered by a 3.5L turbocharged V6 engine. The same engine was also used in the 2020 model and makes 450 bhp and 510 lb-ft of peak torque. This powertrain comes mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and delivers the power to the wheels via the standard AWD drivetrain. Though the engine has remained the same, the brand has said that it has tweaked the engine for better throttle response.
The improvement in throttle response becomes evident in the 0-60 mph run where the 2021 Lincoln Navigator puts in a time of 5.9 seconds. The quarter-mile performance is also similar since that takes 14.5-seconds to be completed. The 2021 Lincoln Navigator L, despite the additional weight and size, is surprisingly faster by going from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds.
There are 7 drive modes available on the 2021 Navigator, namely, Slippery, Excite, Conserve, Deep Conditions, Normal, 4x4, and Slow Climb. The predecessors had 6 modes, and the Slow Climb mode is the latest addition to the list. Each mode has a different throttle and steering response, and overall driving dynamics which make the driving manners of the 2021 Lincoln Navigator as sublime as its predecessors.

Though the Ford Expedition is one of the most powerful, it is the slowest in the acceleration front. The BMW X7 is only marginally more powerful than the Ford but manages to take the top spot in the 0-60 mph and quarter-mile, bumping the Navigator to the second place in terms of accelerating off the line. The Cadillac Escalade is the least powerful but still manages to perform better than the Ford Expedition.
Being a vehicle of this class and size, the fuel efficiency figures of the 2021 Lincoln Navigator are decent. The car gets a claimed fuel economy of 16 MPG for city usage while the highway economy figures stand at 21 MPG. This translates to a combined fuel economy of 18 MPG. In real-world usage, many individual testers have also claimed to get a city economy as low as 13 MPG.
The 2021 Lincoln Navigator comes with a standard fuel tank capacity of 23.2-gallons. This allows it to offer a total combined range of 417.6 miles and tops out at 487.2 miles of range on the highway. Despite being the higher priced sibling to the Ford Expedition with the same engine, the MPG figures of the Lincoln Navigator are considerably low.

The fuel economy figures of the BMW X7 are exceptional in our list of competitors. Surprisingly, the Ford Expedition ranks second in the fuel economy section followed by the Navigator in the third. The fuel efficiency of the Escalade is sub-par despite the low-performance aspects.
The Navigator has an elegant cabin adorned with high-quality materials. It's quiet and spacious, and it's one of the finest interiors in the class.- Cars.USNews
The 2021 Lincoln Navigator comes with a very spacious interior. It not only offers a comfortable space for seven passengers to sit at ease but also offers a premium and upmarket cabin loaded with features. Furthermore, for a price of $81,965, the Reserve trim upgrades from a conventional roof to a Panoramic Vista Roof that uplifts the vibe of the interior. Depending on the trim you get, the material and layout of the cabin start to get more upscale with wood trims also being used in the Black Label trim.Â
With ample storage and 19.3 cu-ft of cargo space, the 2021 Navigator proves it’s functionality and practicality. At the front, the vehicle gets 10-way power-adjustable bucket seats for both driver and the passenger. The seats at the front and the rear are comfortable and provide great under-thigh and lumbar support. The third-row seats also have a fairly spacious headroom and legroom making the Navigator comparatively more comfortable than most of its rivals.

The 2021 Lincoln Navigator also comes equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen system with inbuilt navigation. The infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and WiFi connectivity as well for added convenience. The sound system is a Revel 14-speaker setup with HD Radio. The infotainment system is crisp, responsive, and user-friendly making it one of the highlighting features.Â
With a feature-packed cabin, the 2021 Lincoln Navigator offers some of the best creature comforts for the price it demands. The following are the highlighting features of the interior and infotainment system:
The Navigator’s a sleek and attractive SUV from the outside and embraces its size, no apologies, and it wins.- The Car Connection
The 2021 Lincoln Navigator carries a handsome design with a bold and aggressive-looking front. The large grille at the front, the large set LED headlamp design with dual DRLs, and the bulky hood complements the overall design of the car. If you compare the 2021 Navigator to the previous generation, the design took a massive leap forward both in terms of visual appeal and luxury.
Move to the side, and the 20-inch (Standard) or 22-inch (Reserve and Black Label) aluminum alloy wheels come into full display. The wheels have a unique design, unlike anything you might have come across so far, striking the perfect balance between style and class. The silhouette is humongous, thanks to the 212-inch length and 76.3-inch height. Furthermore, from the side, the windows almost cut the car into two separate halves.

Compared to the adversaries, the Lincoln Navigator is certainly the heftiest, but it is also the longest. The Cadillac Escalade comes close both in terms of weight and length. The height of all of the rides is the same except for the BMW X7 which is actually the most compactly built. The Bimmer is not nearly as long or wide and is also one of the lightest along with the Ford Expedition which is just 2 lbs lighter.
The rear end of the 2021 Lincoln Navigator might remind you of the eyes of Robocop probably, but in a good way. The LED Taillamps run from end to end with chrome details and dual exhaust outlets. All of this comes together very cohesively to form a spectacular road presence. Some of the notable features of the exterior of the 2021 Navigator are:
The Navigator’s good in a crash.- The Car Connection
The 2021 Lincoln Navigator shares its underlying platform with the Ford Expedition, and the previous-generation Ford F-150. The chassis construction style is a body-on-frame style. Thanks to this great build quality, the ride procured a perfect 5-star rating in the crash tests conducted by the NHTSA.
The IIHS has not rated the Navigator since its generational change in 2018. If and when that does happen, we expect the Lincoln Navigator to perform well. In 2020, the Lincoln Co-Pilot360 was added as standard to the ride which helped make it safer than it already was. The standout safety features of the 2021 Lincoln Navigator are:
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is an established contender in the segment and has proved itself over the years. The Escalade comes with a huge feature list and extremely refined, tried, and test engine options. The Lincoln Navigator and the Cadillac Escalade offer an almost similar package and capabilities.
The 2021 BMW X7 provides a premium and comfortable interior along with great build quality. It has a powerful engine, impressive fuel economy, and best in class reliability and customer goodwill but the only drawback is that it is not as good in terms of practicality when compared to its rivals. Furthermore, the X7 is not as dynamic and as comfortable as the Lincoln Navigator. With the 2021 update, the Navigator gives stiff competition to the BMW X7.
The 2021 Ford Expedition is one of the most underrated vehicles in the segment. It comes with powerful and reliable engine options but falls behind when it comes to the overall availability of features. The Expedition is a highly capable vehicle and gets one of the best dashboard layouts. However, it is the Lincoln Navigator that offers a more modern, comfortable, and luxurious interior in addition to better capabilities.
The 2021 Lincoln Navigator, though you might not get a whole lot of updates, what you do get is a bang for the buck ride. So, you can even pick up a used 2020 Lincoln Navigator, for a lot lesser price today. The 2021 Navigator packs a powerful V6 engine, and some of the best interior features in a relatively low price. Overall, the Lincoln Navigator is one of the best vehicles in the segment when gauged against the competitors.
