The 2021 Mazda CX-30 comes equipped with a standard Skyactiv-G 2.5L naturally aspirated inline-4 engine that belts out 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. This is a VVT 16-valve DOHC motor, making it quite smooth and refined in operation. However, the enthusiasts should opt for the new 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 motor, which is capable of putting out 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. 

The CX-30 comes paired with a quick-shifting Skyactiv-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters for both the engines on offer. The base 2.5L NA motor comes with the FWD drivetrain as standard. However, the i-Activ AWD system is an optional extra for an additional MSRP of $1,400. The more powerful turbocharged motor comes with the i-Activ AWD system as standard.

This subcompact crossover SUV, which comes at a base MSRP of $22,050, offers sure-footed handling coupled with well-calibrated steering and brakes making it even better than some of the sedans out there. The 2021 Mazda CX-30 does a quick run of 0-60 MPH in 7.8 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 16 seconds. The 2.5L NA inline-4 engine used in the lower trims of the CX-30 easily balances performance with efficiency. The 2021 Mazda CX-30, with the FWD setup, is capable of giving out a gas mileage of 25 MPG in the city, 33 MPG on the highway, and a combined 28 mpg. Opt for the AWD CX-30, and it delivers 24/31/28 mpg in the city/highway/combined, respectively. With the 2.5 turbo engine, the fuel economy drops further to 22/30/25 mpg in the city/highway/combined, respectively.

Though the 2021 Mazda CX-30 posts decent fuel economy figures, the only downside to this aspect is its fuel tank capacity. The 2021 Mazda CX-30 offers a well-built and premium-looking interior with a two-tone color scheme and a minimalist clutter-free design.
