Is buying a used Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 4-Door a good idea?

At present Mercedes Benz AMG GT 43, 4 Door Coupe cars are only available in Europe. So buyers from Europe can try for the used car, but folks from States would have to wait for a couple more years to get a used AMG GT 43. However, there are a couple of other versions of the AMG GT that you may find on the used car market. 

The AMG GT 53, AMG GT 63, and AMG GT 63S are available at the used car market. However, we’d suggest you steer clear from buying a used AMG GT. The reason being, first hand or used, all AMG GTs are considered an expensive set of wheels to own. The parts are not cheap. So the maintenance and repairs will really cause you a lot of trouble. However, if the cost of maintenance does not bother you and a GT with a three-pointed star has always been a placid dream for you, well go for it. 

The M256 3.0 liter in-line, 6-cylinder engine in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 produces 367 hp and 369 lb-ft. This is the same engine that is used in the AMG GT 53 but certain detuning has been done for the 43. The active aerodynamics and the AMG 9-speed transmission helps the AMG GT 43 to exhibit breath-taking performance.

The all-wheel-drive variably links the rear axle to the front axle and thus guarantees ideal torque distribution. This enables gradually switching over between all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive.

The GT-specific, adapted AMG air suspension system practically combines two suspension systems in one. From comfortable to sporty: strong performance in any situation is offered by the AMG GT 43.

Cost-cutting does not mean that the AMG GT 43 4-door is any less of a ripper. The optional electronically controlled AMG locking differential provides improved traction in every driving situation, especially when the driver adopts a sporty driving style. This enables improved acceleration from corners.

With the 3.0 liter 6 cylinder engine and the AMG attributes, the AMG GT 43 can accelerate from 0-60MPH in just 4.9 seconds. Speaking of deceleration, well no data is available as of yet about the braking arrangement that’ll be deployed on this pocket rocket. 

Among these, the AMG GT 43 is faster and has a top speed of 168 MPH even with its heavier body. The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe also accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds- same as the AMG. But the BMW is a lot behind in terms of top speed offered. 

There are no details from Mercedes regarding the mileage figures of the 2021 AMG GT 43 4-Door Coupe. However. one should not expect great mileage figures from a vehicle that climbs up to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. 

For a comparative point of view, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 53 offers city/highway/combined mpg figures of 19/24/22. Considering the fact that the GT 43 gets a detuned version of the GT 53’s engine with less power output, we can expect city/highway/combined mpg figures of around 20/26/24.
