Overall Rating
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 is the newly-born in the family that consists of brothers as sturdy as the AMG GT 53, AMG GT 63, and AMG GT 63S. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 gets a 3.0L bi-turbo inline-6 engine that belts out close to 370 horsepower.Â
Imagine an uber-luxurious vehicle that offers enthralling performance, envelopes you in a stately cabin, looks every bit menacing, and, most importantly, does not cost a bomb. Sounds fun, right? But only if it was a reality. Well, now it is, enter the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 4-Door, and what you get is a car that inherits pure AMG DNA, reaches the 60 mph mark in less than 5 seconds, and yes it's not as expensive as its other siblings.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 4-door is the new entry point of getting into the GT club. The year 2021 is the first time that the AMG GT 43 is all set to bombard the US market with its bang for buck proposition. The prices for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 4-Door start close to the $90,000 mark (well, still a bomb for us). According to Mercedes, the AMG GT 43 will reach the dealerships in late 2020.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 will be entering the US as a standalone trim, so no real scope of getting choosy here. Fret not, the MERCenaries have stuffed the AMG GT 43 with all the plush features and amenities you’d ever need or want in a sports sedan of this segment.
However, if you are not content with the stock GT 43, there are a number of available packages to pick. The GT 43 packs in enough front to make your hearts bleed for it. However, if you still want more emotions and dynamics, you can always opt-in for the AMG Dynamic Plus package and the AMG Aerodynamic package. More details about the packages on offer for the AMG GT 43 will be revealed close to the launch.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 4-Door is the German auto marque’s formula for catering to its buyers with true-blue GT vibes but at a comparatively lower price. The prices for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 will initiate close to the $90,000 mark.
However, reducing costs does not go hand in hand with cutting corners. The looks, the technology, the features, and the customization options on offer in the GT 43 correspond to those of the more expensive versions. The AMG GT 43 will be offered as a standalone trim, but the organization will provide several available packages.

At the same time, the design with integral head restraints and pronounced seat side bolster fabricate a true sports car atmosphere into your cockpit.
Though there are a number of ways and techniques for deriving the actual reliability and ownership experience of a vehicle, one of the most trusted ways is to call attention to what the JD Power says about it. The JD Power Report gives ratings to vehicles on certain parameters like the Quality, Driving experience, resale value, etc. The ratings are mainly based on reviews by car-owners.
However, since it's the first time that the AMG GT 43 is hitting the US shores, no ratings or data is available as of yet that can help evaluate the reliability of this 4-door coupe. Well, what’s more, unfortunate is that JD Power has not yet rated the AMG GT 63 as well, which happens to be the GT 43’s elder sibling.
Though the ratings are not available as of yet, our gut still trusts the AMG GT 43 for its reliability quotient. Reason being the reputation of the Affalterbach folks backing it. Mercedes Benz is one of the most reliable automobile brands with its larger network of dealerships and service centers which enables it to operate in many countries. So in all probabilities, the AMG GT 43 too, will strive by the company’s stature.
Warranty is your written guarantee by the manufacturer and the one offered with the AMG GT 43 is more than just satisfactory.
The warranty conditions of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 go as follows:
Criteria |
Period |
---|---|
Basic Warranty |
4 years/ 50,000 miles; whichever comes first |
Corrosion Perforation Warranty |
4 years/ 50,000 miles; whichever comes first |
Power train Warranty |
4 years/ 50,000 miles; whichever comes first |
Roadside Assistance Warranty |
4 years/ 50,000 miles; whichever comes first |
Mercedes-Benz has never settled for less in case of warranty criteria and ensures peace of mind which gives assurance that your car is protected against the uncertainties. However, what comes as a downside is the absence of scheduled complimentary maintenance in its portfolio.

At present Mercedes Benz AMG GT 43, 4 Door Coupe cars are only available in Europe. So buyers from Europe can try for the used car, but folks from States would have to wait for a couple more years to get a used AMG GT 43. However, there are a couple of other versions of the AMG GT that you may find on the used car market.
The AMG GT 53, AMG GT 63, and AMG GT 63S are available at the used car market. However, we’d suggest you steer clear from buying a used AMG GT. The reason being, first hand or used, all AMG GTs are considered an expensive set of wheels to own. The parts are not cheap. So the maintenance and repairs will really cause you a lot of trouble. However, if the cost of maintenance does not bother you and a GT with a three-pointed star has always been a placid dream for you, well go for it.
The M256 3.0 liter in-line, 6-cylinder engine in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 produces 367 hp and 369 lb-ft. This is the same engine that is used in the AMG GT 53 but certain detuning has been done for the 43. The active aerodynamics and the AMG 9-speed transmission helps the AMG GT 43 to exhibit breath-taking performance.
The all-wheel-drive variably links the rear axle to the front axle and thus guarantees ideal torque distribution. This enables gradually switching over between all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive.
The GT-specific, adapted AMG air suspension system practically combines two suspension systems in one. From comfortable to sporty: strong performance in any situation is offered by the AMG GT 43.
With the optional Rear Axle steering, the rear axle steers in the opposite direction up to a speed of 60 mph to virtually cut the wheelbase. And for more safety, from a speed of 60 mph it steers in the same direction and thus virtually extends the wheelbase.

The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe and Porsche Panamera are behind the AMG GT 43 in terms of power figures. With the 3.0 L inline 6 cylinder engine, GT 43 belts out more power than all its rivals, thus justifying the comparatively higher price tag.
Cost-cutting does not mean that the AMG GT 43 4-door is any less of a ripper. The optional electronically controlled AMG locking differential provides improved traction in every driving situation, especially when the driver adopts a sporty driving style. This enables improved acceleration from corners.
With the 3.0 liter 6 cylinder engine and the AMG attributes, the AMG GT 43 can accelerate from 0-60MPH in just 4.9 seconds. Speaking of deceleration, well no data is available as of yet about the braking arrangement that’ll be deployed on this pocket rocket.

Among these, the AMG GT 43 is faster and has a top speed of 168 MPH even with its heavier body. The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe also accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds- same as the AMG. But the BMW is a lot behind in terms of top speed offered.
There are no details from Mercedes regarding the mileage figures of the 2021 AMG GT 43 4-Door Coupe. However. one should not expect great mileage figures from a vehicle that climbs up to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
For a comparative point of view, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 53 offers city/highway/combined mpg figures of 19/24/22. Considering the fact that the GT 43 gets a detuned version of the GT 53’s engine with less power output, we can expect city/highway/combined mpg figures of around 20/26/24.
The cockpit is convinced with extremely high-grade materials and production quality. There is the new AMG fragrance that delivers additional massage for your senses. This is only available for AMG versions. With the new auxiliary switches on the flat-bottom AMG Performance steering wheel in leather, makes the driver firmly in control of everything. With those switches, one can change various parameters of this sports car and configure the personal setup.
With the individually configurable instrument cluster and the central media display with a 12.3-inch touch screen display you always have all relevant information at hand. Also, the 64 different interior color options attribute the AMG GT 43’s interior.

The AMG Aerodynamics package will improve handling at high speeds and provide an even greater driving experience. The attachments on this package increase the negative lift force while reducing drag. The fixed rear aerofoil demonstrates a clear commitment to uncompromising performance. This real spoiler can be controlled using the switch provided in the beautiful central console.
With the AMG Exterior Carbon Package, AMG GT 43's dynamism is highlighted with carbon-fiber parts from the field of motorsport. The carbon-fiber detachable parts enhance the exterior appearance from all angles and underscore the performance aspirations of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43.
The 2020 version of Mercedes Benz AMG GT53, GT 63, and GT63S scored higher ranks for safety. So obviously the 2021 AMG GT 43 version will not be bad. It is expected to come on the road with safety features like ABS, Driveline Traction Control, Front collision warning, Automated Emergency Braking, Lane departure warning with lane assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Tyre Pressure warning, Pre-Safe system, etc.
With a better engine, performance, decent interior space, and similar exterior dimensions it’s the AMG GT 43 4-Door Coupe that beats the Porsche Panamera. Even though the Merc is more expensive, it comes with an AMG Performance 4Matic+ AWD drivetrain instead of RWD than the Panamera inherits.
The Porsche Panamera is around 1500 bucks cheaper than the AMG GT 43, but in this amount, the AMG caters its buyers with a lot more opulent features and greater driving dynamics.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 43 4-Door beats the BMW 8-series Gran Coupe in terms of power output. Though both these vehicles exhibit the same 0-60 mph acceleration times, the GT 43 has a higher top speed than the 8-Series.
However, BMW claws the trophy back with its more aggressive pricing and a more spacious cabin.
Since most people prefer the Performance of the car in this segment, it’s the AMG GT which is likely to be sold more rather than the other two. The track-focused AMG GT43 is expected to hold the sportiness of the AMG lineage.
The sporty looks, better performance figures, and a number of AMG elements give the GT43 an aggressive touch. In all, the Mercedes Benz AMG GT43 4-Door Coupe will be a good buy.
