Overall Rating
The Model 3 will come in 3 trims priced between $37,990 and $54,990. Each trim can be equipped with Tesla’s proprietary Autopilot technology which costs $10,000. Tesla has made several changes to the 2021 Model 3 as well. From improved range on the Standard Range Plus and Long Range models to enhanced aesthetics and features, the 2021 Tesla Model 3 is a much more well-rounded package than before.
Paving its way as an affordable showstopper, the 2021 Tesla Model 3 is definitely one of the best in the electric-vehicle business. For the year 2021, Tesla has given the Model 3 sedan both exterior and interior design refreshes, more standard features, and improved range for both Standard Range Plus and Long Range models. While the Standard Range Plus has a 263-mile range, the Long-range model amps it up to 353 miles. Prices for the 2021 Tesla Model 3 starts at an MSRP of $44,990, which includes destination charges.
This in comparison to its rivals, Kia Niro EV priced at $39,090, Hyundai Ioniq costing $33,245, and Chevrolet Bolt EV has an MSRP of $36,500, is somewhat expensive. But the level of performance, features, and range offered by the Model 3 makes it a much more value-for-money buy than the other compact electric vehicles. Coming onto the interior, a minimalistic language is followed inside, but the distinct Model 3 cabin packs in all of the latest creature comfort known to make it stand out in this segment.
If you're looking for the most valuable purchase, the Long Range trim provides a good amount of features for the price. However, in our opinion, the Model 3 is best enjoyed when driven around in the Performance trim.
The cost does increase substantially for that trim, but the performance boost makes you forget about it soon enough. It also aims to give you the best of both worlds. Its total range might not be as much as the Long Range version, but it is substantially more than the base trim. Also, no matter the trim you choose between the Long Range or Performance trim, you get an AWD setup.

Tesla has brought in many upgrades to the 2021 Model 3, like black satin chrome trim inside-out, three new wheel designs, redesigned center console, and improved range on its base and mid-tier trims. But for the year 2021, the Model 3 will be sold in the same 3 trims as before; Standard Range Plus, Long Range, and Performance.
The Standard Range Plus trim is the base trim starting at $44,990. It has an RWD setup and is capable of reaching 140 mph. It used to have a range of 250 miles but is now amped up to 263. Despite being the slowest of the 3 trims, it reaches 60 mph from a standstill in just 5.8 seconds. The Long Range trim is the middle trim and is the least expensive trim which offers an AWD setup.

In looks, it is similar to the base Standard Range Plus but now offers a claimed range of 353 miles. Finally, the Performance trim is the best of the bunch. Costing $54,990, it gets a massive performance boost, a lower stance, exterior add-ons like a carbon fiber spoiler, and 20” performance wheels. It also gets its range amped up to 315 miles.

If you're looking for the most valuable purchase, in our opinion, the Long Range variant of the Model 3 is its best. While its total range of 353 miles is class-leading, its performance numbers are also off the charts. With its standard AWD setup, the 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range gives you the best of all worlds.

The 2021 Tesla Model 3 is a blast to drive. Acceleration comes instantly, and its responsive steering and low center of gravity help it whip around turns - Cars.USNews
Among electric cars of its class, the 2021 Tesla Model 3 has an unusual advantage. When it comes to performance numbers, Tesla's dual permanent magnet motor setup gives it superior acceleration as well as top speeds of up to 162 mph. Even if we consider the cheapest trim of the Model 3, the Standard Range Plus, the other cars in the class will have a hard time competing with its 140 mph top speed.
The 2021 Model 3 sprints from 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds, which is also at least 1.2 seconds quicker than the second in line Chevrolet Bolt EV. The Hyundai Ioniq, which finishes last, is 4.6 seconds slower in comparison. When at its best, the Model 3 Performance accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.

Doesn't matter which parameter we judge, the Model 3 takes the lead. It manages the maximum top speed, has the quickest acceleration, and also exhibits the best braking performance. Of the known outputs and prices of competitors, the performance offered by Chevrolet Bolt EV makes it the second-best buy here.
We were hopeful that Tesla was planning to upgrade the battery in the 2021 Model 3 to further increase the range. But the carmaker has achieved the latter without doing the former. Now, the 2021 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus offers a maximum driving range of 263 miles, which is up by 13 miles in comparison to before.

Its rivals such as the Kia Niro EV and Chevrolet Bolt did offer a better range of 259 miles but are now behind the Model 3 Standard Range Plus. Even the mid-tier Long Range model now offers a claimed driving range of 353 miles. That is an improvement of 31 miles in comparison to last year. Moreover, the Performance AWD variant also amps up the range to 315 miles.

The Tesla's low, flat floor makes for a spacious and airy feel inside - Car and Driver
Of all the changes happening in and around the 2021 Tesla Model 3, its interior exhibits most of them. Right from the moment you step in, you'll notice the door-sill protectors now adorn a black satin trim. If you take the driver's seat, the infotainment scroll buttons on the steering wheel now have a metallic finish. Right next to it, the center console now has space for 2 wireless smartphone charging pads.
Other changes include seat adjustment controls coated in graphite paint and magnetic sun visors. Sitting in the driver’s seat, one can easily view in all directions. This is further assisted by the car’s autopilot feature. While the color choices might feel too simple, the cabin is flushed with impressive features like 12-way power-adjustable seats, premium audio, and an eye-catching wood trim finish that makes the cabin feel rather luxurious.

But passenger and cargo space on the Model 3 is average for the class. Still, the infotainment system is one of the main attractions of the Tesla Model 3. The giant 15-inch infotainment system in the middle of the center console area is the only medium you get to interact with the car, other than some buttons on the steering wheel. The Tesla App can also be used to do the same. For sound, the Model 3 is equipped with 14 speakers, 1 subwoofer, and 2 amps as a part of its “premium audio”. Phone connectivity is still through Bluetooth, with no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay in play.
The smooth arc of the roodline tapers a bit at the sides, and it's a slippery shape-accented by door handles that sit flush to the body - The Car Connection
Tesla has managed to develop a rather attractive design signature for its cars. While seeming easy on the eyes, the Model 3 looks rather futuristic. The obvious curves, the lack of a front grille, and unmistakable LED DRLs complete the look for any Tesla.
Although, while sharing these characteristics with other Teslas, the Model 3 manages to maintain an identity of its own. This design language is carried forward in the Tesla Model Y, which is remarkably similar to the Model 3. To keep things fresh for 2021, the Model 3 comes with black satin exterior trim and three new wheel designs.

Among its rivals, none are quite as good-looking as the Tesla Model 3, and a lot has to do with its dimensions. Its lower height of 56.8 inches and the 113.2-inch long wheelbase not only improve form but also driving dynamics. Although its 5.5-inch ground clearance implies that harsh bumps and uneven roads could cause some trouble.

Safety is by far Tesla’s biggest selling point. The collection of sensors, cameras, and radars surrounding the car, in accordance with the Autopilot feature, makes sure that the occupants of the cabin remain perfectly safe. However, there are no updates this time around in terms of safety.
But considering how the Model 3 already comes fully decked with top-of-the-line Tesla autonomous driving technology, we're not complaining. Its Autopilot takes care of many driving hassles. It can also monitor the road and drive the car itself while you relax behind the wheel.
The only card the Kia Niro can play against the Tesla Model 3 is its price. The Niro is a good car for the price, but the sheer lack in performance, the absence of top-grade safety and luxury features, and a rather unimpressive exterior design make us want to recommend Model 3 even more.
Even the Bolt has only one thing going for it, price. The Model 3 does have far better performance and features, but if only the price was concerned, the Chevrolet Bolt is a decent buy. However, the premium which the Model 3 charges isn't only for performance, but additional features that elevate the whole experience.
The Tesla Model 3 is a gateway to affordable yet luxury electric cars. The revolution that Tesla started with the Model S has now reached even more homes through the Model 3 for half the price but with all the performance and features that one can expect. The Model 3 truly advances the march for an electric future ahead.
