Overall Rating
The 2022 Audi Q8 gets new colors, more safety tech, and will be available for sale from an MSRP of $69,300 post its release in Fall 2021. Offered in 3 trim levels, the 2022 Q8 will remain unchanged with the same specs along with the 335 hp 3.0L turbo V6 engine. Though the interior will remain the same mostly.
The 2022 Audi Q8 has made its way into the market with prices starting at $69,300. The 2022 Q8 gets offers improved packages and additional standard features. The 2022 Audi Q8 comes with the same turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. There is also a 48-volt hybrid-assist system that helps with the stop-start function. The 2022 Audi Q8 can get from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Audi offers the Q8 in a total of three different trims. Audi will soon also be revealing the all-new Q9 SUV as well.
The 2022 Audi Q8 Premium trim now comes standard with 21-inch wheels, power-folding exterior mirrors with memory settings, and several other amenities. The Premium Plus trim features adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist and lane-keeping assist as standard. The interior of the 2022 Audi Q8 remains the same with four-zone climate control and a leather dashboard with contrast stitching is limited to the top trims.Â
The standard Premium trim is the best value for money, and it can be customized with a variety of options. A completely digital gauge display, built-in navigation, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a power-operated tailgate are among the notable standard features. Despite the fact that 21-inch rims are now standard, we'd still go with the Black Optic package for its sportier look. We'd also recommend the Towing package which enables the Q8 to tow a maximum of 7700 pounds.

While the Audi had deliberate passing power on the highway, it felt hesitant around town unless we crushed the gas pedal. - Car and Driver
The 2022 Audi Q8 gets the 3.0L turbocharged V6 which makes 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to an 8-speed Tiptronic shiftable automatic transmission and all the power goes to the famous Quattro system. For those who are hungry for more power, Audi also offers the 2022 SQ8 which has an MSRP and $90,000 and will come with a 4.0L turbocharged V8 making 500 hp or 2022 RS Q8 priced at $114,500 and powered by a 591 hp 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8.
There are 4 drive models as part of the Q8, if you add the adaptive air suspension during customization or get the Prestige trim, you get two additional drive modes, allroad and off-road which are specially designed to harness the full potential of the system. Even with the new 21-inch wheels, the ride quality is not much affected and will still be as smooth as earlier.
The 2022 Audi Q8 does perform very well being able to the 0-60 mph sprint in 5.6 seconds. The quarter-mile takes slightly longer at 14 seconds and will continue to its electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. Along with this, the 2022 Audi Q8 it can tow up to 7,700 pounds, which is the equivalent of 2 airstream trailers.

In comparison to the others, the Audi Q8 is one of the best overall and strikes a value-for-money bargain with great numbers and one of the fastest times in pure performance. The Mercedes AMG GLE 53 Coupe is the most powerful, and also one of the costlier ones. The Q8’s corporate cousin, the Porsche Cayenne Coupe less powerful and also slower 0-60 overall, and even is priced higher than all of the rest. The BMW X6 is neither here nor there and sits in the middle of everyone with its safe and tried and tested approach.
The Q8 has mediocre EPA estimates that are lower than some all-wheel-drive rivals. - Car and Driver
Buying a car of the 2022 Audi Q8’s stature and expecting stellar MPG figures is like buying ice cream and expecting it will not melt when you are eating it. The V6 engine offers good performance and is “thirsty” at most times. It offers 18 MPG in the city, 23 MPG on the highway, and 20 MPG combined.
Couple that with the standard 22.5-gallon fuel tank and you get an overall range of 450 miles which seems a little short-handed in retrospect. The only drawback with the 2022 Q8 is that it does not offer an optional fuel tank with a bigger capacity. Be that as it may, the 2022 Audi Q8 is still acceptably fuel frugal.

Compared to the rest, the BMW X6 has very good MPG figures. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe might be the most underpowered one, but it still offers better MPG figures than the Q8. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe offers more power and offers the same fuel economy figures and driving range as the 2022 Audi Q8, showing that Mercedes-AMG does offer good fuel economy while offering nearly 100 hp more.
The Q8 is Audi's flagship SUV, and it's outfitted as such. The cabin is draped with high-end materials like leather, aluminum, and soft-touch plastic. - U.S News

The 2022 Audi Q8 is one stylish and aggressive-looking vehicle even for its stature as a family-friendly car. For 2022 even the Premium trim will get 21-inch alloy wheels and power folding exterior mirrors are standard, it gets a spectacular ground clearance of 8.7-inches. This is good enough if you want to tread into the off-roads.Furthermore, there are 11 colors on offer, 2 standard and 8 metallic shades, 1 pearl color option.
The front fascia features a large single-frame grille between sleek and modern headlamps. As you move to the side, the silhouette it carves seems pretty similar to the Q7 but it's the rear hump that is distinctive and adds that slight “Sportback” style to it. The rear gets a single LED taillamp that is reminiscent of the Audi A8 L but adds its own touch to the mix. There are many customization options including wheels and optics packages (exterior accents) to get one to suit your taste.

In terms of dimensions, the 2021 Audi Q8 is longer in length by 2 inches compared to the competition and longer in wheelbase by 3.9-inches compared to the Porsche Cayenne Coupe. The widest is the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 which is nearly 6-inches wider than the Audi Q8. Some of the notable features of the exteriors are:
The 2022 Audi Q8 is sensible and safe as well. As there are no major change in the platform or structure, the same safety ratings from 2021 model year will suffice. The 2021 Audi Q8 procured a perfect 5-star rating from the NHTSA and an overall Good rating from the IIHS along with 2021 Top Safety Pick award.
There are a couple of additions of safety features for the 2022 Audi Q8 with the Premium trim getting the previously optional rear-side airbags and direct tire pressure monitoring system as standard and the Premium Plus system addition on driver assistance features of Audi adaptive cruise assist with traffic jam assist and Audi active lane assist with emergency assist. The following are some of the notable features that the 2022 Audi Q8 comes with as standard across all trim levels:
The 2021 BMW X6 has a fairly powerful engine as the Audi Q8, although it outperforms the latter in terms of acceleration and fuel efficiency. However, the BMW X6 has a cheaper price tag of $64,300, which is about $4,000 less than the Audi Q8. The Q8 outperforms the X6 in terms of practicality, with larger luggage capacity and a somewhat nicer cabin with more standard amenities.
Mercedes-Benz has the most powerful engine, resulting in the quickest 0-60 and quarter-mile times. The 2021 GLE, on the other hand, costs $71,350, which is around $2,000 more than the 2021 Q8. It also lacks the Q8's feature set and opulence, which may be a deal-breaker for some potential customers.
In terms of interior, performance, and safety, the 2021 Porsche Cayenne stands out from the competition. The Cayenne 2021 also features a desirable exterior styling. Despite the fact that both the Q8 and the Cayenne have identical powertrain, the Cayenne is a little more fun-to-drive vehicle because to its superb suspension and steering setup. However, at a starting price of $75,300, the 2021 Porsche Cayenne is more expensive than the Audi Q8.
The 2022 Audi Q8 is pegged for a release date in Fall 2021. With the prices ranging from $69,300 to $79,400, the 2022 Q8 strikes the right bargain in all regards, be it in style, or in substance. While it does not scream luxury like the Mercedes Benz, it still manages to be exuberant and opulent in its own subtle yet tasteful way. Despite remaining majorly mechanically unchanged (the Prestige trim gets adaptive air suspension as standard), the Q8 does add on a lot of features in exterior, interior and safety department on each trim. Powered by adequately powerful, and backed by a superb interior, the 2022 Audi Q8 is certainly worth buying. So no matter what your reason might be, the 2022 Audi Q8 will find a place in your heart and eventually in your garage.
