Sport, Touring, Carbon Edition, Grand Touring, and Signature are the five model options offered for the Mazda CX-9 in 2022. The 2022 Mazda CX-9 Sport has an MSRP of $33,960, while the Touring trim starts at $36,850. The 2021 Mazda CX-9 Carbon Edition has an MSRP of $42,180, while the Grand Touring has an MSRP of $43,040. There is also an additional $1,100 as the destination fee.

The present model is already well-equipped and the 2022 model will build on the already expansive feature set.  Tri-zone temperature control, push-button start, a 10.3-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker radio, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hot spot are all standard features. Optional features include 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless device charging, four more USB ports, satellite radio, a 12-speaker Bose audio, keyless entry, and a sunroof.

While the 2021 Mazda CX-9 base Sports Trim is sufficient with a lengthy list of standard and luxury amenities for most people, the Grand Touring trim is the best option to get most out of your money. The second-generation Mazda CX-9 rolls with a 2.5L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine and is supposed to retain the same for the upcoming 2022 MY. The 227 horses under the hood may not boost similar power as compared to the rivals but the well-equipped CX-9 has amazing handling. The 310lb-ft torque is still the best in class.

The 6-Speed automatic transmission makes sure you have quicker shifts and low fuel consumption. As Mazda uses the SkyActiv tech, the power and fuel management are well managed. The 2022 Mazda CX-9 offers an average towing capacity of 3,500 lbs which is not bad considering the smaller engine. 

The power output may not be on the higher side, still, the performance is quite punchy. With a crazy torque output, the CX-9 sprints from 0-60 MPH in mere 7.0 seconds. Mazda has been making the most fuel-efficient vehicles in the segment. The cabin seems pretty tight if we compare it with the rivals as they offer better space. Still, the premium cloth upholstery on the CX-9 is really soft. You may get better seating adjustments with the updated 2022 MY. As the Carbon trim got popular for its sportier design, you can expect it yet again with better offerings. 

As we heard about the new infotainment, it will definitely offer better features. The dynamic driver's display may offer few updates as well. The ride quality is already pleasant to offer comfort during long journeys. If only they could improvise the third-row seating and the available cargo space.
