We traded in a 5 year old Volvo XC-60 for this 2017 XC-60. In 5 years, Volvo changed a lot. We purchased the R-design version and it came with a whole bunch of bells and whistles that our older SUV did not have: Harman Kardon sound system, adaptive cruise control, Collision warning w/full auto brake, pedestrian/cyclist detection, driver alert control, distance alerts, lane departure warning and road sign information. Cross shopped with BMW X5 and considered others. The Volvo won because it combined good styling(inside and out), good handling for a crossover, great (prob the best in class) safety, a 5 year warranty with free service, and finally, a quality dealership experience that was close by. My prior car was a Volvo XC60 and it was great. I bought the car and the next day issues started. Car would not start, door lock sensors do not work, rear gate lift does not work, the GPS is awful - malfunctions and freezes, the collision avoidance assist system will go on making it impossible to steer the vehicle - happened on the freeway and almost had an accident.
