The Transit Connect really shines, of course, is in the cargo-hauling experience. Its easy ingress/egress through huge doors, a near-perfect driving position, surprisingly supportive vinyl or cloth seats, and spectacular forward vision are definitely worth buying if you are looking for an economical stylish cargo van. When choosing one trim, the XLT trim offers better value for money.

Engine and Performance
5.0/10

The 2014 Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van is a front-wheel-drive compact van that comes with a four-cylinder motor paired with a standard six-speed automatic. The Transit is provided with sharper handling, though there is less cargo space.

Even if the Transit Connect lacks the get-up-and-go of V6-powered traditional minivans, it's still much better to drive. The van reaches the 60 mph mark in 9.5 seconds.

7.0/10

The 2014 Ford Transit adds sportiness to the van along with the functionality proportions. The trapezoidal grille adds a premium look to the cargo van. The back ribbed bumpers also give way to flowing and smooth body-color treatments in front and back as standard.

Black plastic which still appears on bump strips in the doors could have been replaced with a chrome finish. Despite running basic halogen reflectors, the headlights are contemporary and feature an integrated blade indicator at the base of the assembly.

Final Verdict

The 2014 Ford Transit Connect earns praise for its high-tech work features and for being easy to drive, but if you need more cargo space, more seatbelts, or more power, you should consider other options. Even though the van is not the very best in the segment, the van does manage to offer a well-balanced combination of practicality and comfort.
