About 2011 Honda Civic

3.8

Overall Rating

The 2011 Honda Civic continues as a carryover model with the same 140 hp power and combined fuel economy up to 36 for a price tag starting at $15,805.

The Honda Civic comes unchanged from last year with same 140 hp engine under the hood for a startomg price tag of $15,805. Having the economy ranging from 26 MPG to 36 MPG as per driving condition throughout its trim lineup of DX, DX-VP, LX, LX-S, EX, and EX-L, one tends to relish a wide range of driving pursuit.

Available for sale with a trunk of 12 cu-ft and generous interior spaciousness, the Honda Civic hits the track against the like of the Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3, and Elantra. Alongside that comes the 140 hp coupe variant at $16,875 and 110 hp hybrid configuration at $24,720 too for enhanced myriad of choices.

The EX-L trim is the best one as it justifies its expense with the best touches of leatherette and enhanced comfort with heated seats among its sibling. The available options are also impressive including the navigation system. And the standard 140 hp thrust means equal flooring along with higher economy than the lower trims.

How Honda is reliable yet not flattering

Pros

Fuel efficiency, Easy for parking

Cons

Too small in size for a tall person, Old fashioned engine that has anti theft built in which isn’t practical when it drains the battery

Fuel efficiency is ok but all details are plastic like bumpers etc. I am disappointed with the old technology that Honda has applied to this vehicle . It’s a very reliable vehicle yet the alarm system built into the vehicle or key drains the battery and it’s overkill. I am not impressed with the brand at all .

2011 Honda Civic Review

Pros

  • High fuel economy
  • Athletic handling
  • Great reliability rating

Cons

  • Small trunk

The 2011 Honda Civic continues as a carryover model with the same 140 hp power and combined fuel economy up to 36 for a price tag starting at $15,805.

Overview

The Honda Civic comes unchanged from last year with same 140 hp engine under the hood for a startomg price tag of $15,805. Having the economy ranging from 26 MPG to 36 MPG as per driving condition throughout its trim lineup of DX, DX-VP, LX, LX-S, EX, and EX-L, one tends to relish a wide range of driving pursuit.

Pricing and Features
6.0/10

"Offering a unique combination of affordability, reliability and refinement, the Honda Civic has long been a gold standard" - Kelley Blue Book

The DX-VP is a little more expensive, priced at $17,325 for which it integrates Cruise control and daytime running lights. And the LX at $17,755 further adds 16-inch Steel Wheels and climate control.

Investing $19,125 brings LX-S that has go 16-inch alloy wheels, perforated leather wrapped steering, and decklid spoiler. While, the EX has been adorned with USB audio interface, 6-speaker audio, and power tilt moonroof for $19,605. The EX-L trim is the best one as it justifies its expense with the best touches of leatherette and enhanced comfort with heated seats among its sibling. The available options are also impressive including the navigation system. And the standard 140 hp thrust means equal flooring along with higher economy than the lower trims.

Engine and Performance
8.5/10

The 2011 Honda Civic gets a 1.8 L I-4 engine that prodiuces 140 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. It is mated with a 5-speed manual for DX, DX-VP, LX, LX-S, and EX. While the 5-speed automatic one is there for everyone in a standard FWD layout.

In terms of driving experience, the Honda Civic can be described as perky yet refined. However, one can't expect a well-insulated cabin that keeps the undulation isolated from the passengers despite having a smooth revving and gear shifts.

The 2011 Civic has no official 0-60 MPH and quarter-mile timing as such but the 10.3-inch front vented disc and 7.9-inch rear drum brakes maintains its braking efficiency. And so do the ABS and brake assist in their own rights.

Interior
8.2/10

"Everything works wonderfully, but the design, textures and materials put its visual appeal in the bottom half of the segment." - Kelley Blue Book

Better-than-average front seats in the 2011 Honda Civic afford good support and a great driving position, helping in decent ergonomics. Even in base cars, the height-adjustable seats leave great headroom for tall drivers, though the seat cushions themselves are a bit short and drivers should make sure their knee doesn't rest against the hard handbrake lever.

The Civic's dash features an unusual gauge layout. An analog tachometer is in the traditional location behind the steering wheel, but a digital speedometer and gas gauge reside at the base of the windshield. Some of our editors find the two-tier display distracting, though others say it makes quick visual checks of speed easier.

Exterior
7.0/10

The current-generation 2011 Honda Civic looked pretty far-out when it was first introduced, five years ago, but it turned out to be a trend-setter. And its automatic on/off headlights on front keep your vision straight and undistracted

Dashing in style on the 15-inch steel/alloy, 16-inch steel/alloy, and 17-inch alloy wheels, the Honda Civic appears like any typical sedan. One can even notice a power moonroof on top for high-end trims as their exterior ornaments.
