About 2011 Lexus LS 460

4.1

Overall Rating

The 2011 Lexus LS 460 is a direct threat to the much established and pricier luxury sedans from the European marques. Available in a standard and long-wheelbase version the Lexus LS460 is RWD as standard while AWD is optional.

The Lexus LS 460 comes unchanged for 2011. It has a 4.6-liter V8 engine under its hood that produces 380 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque. The LS is a trim line that has two separate sub-trims, which are LS 460 and LS 460 L.

The Lexus LS 460 base trim is the best one to opt for as it comes with all the luxury and high-end features provided by the competition at a lower price. The LS 460 comes with features including dual-zone automatic climate control with interior air filter, smog sensor and automatic recirculation mode, Lexus memory system to control power driver’s seat (except lumbar), outside mirrors and steering wheel, power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and power windows.

2011 Lexus LS 460 Review

Pros

  • Great ride quality
  • Smooth and powerful V8 engine
  • Extremely comfortable second row seats

Cons

  • Low on breaking power
  • Not very engaging drivability

The 2011 Lexus LS 460 is a direct threat to the much established and pricier luxury sedans from the European marques. Available in a standard and long-wheelbase version the Lexus LS460 is RWD as standard while AWD is optional.

Overview

The Lexus LS 460 comes unchanged for 2011. It has a 4.6-liter V8 engine under its hood that produces 380 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque. The LS is a trim line that has two separate sub-trims, which are LS 460 and LS 460 L.

Pricing and Features
7.0/10

The 2011 Lexus LS 460 comes in two trim lines at varying price points. The base trim is the Lexus LS 460 which is the normal wheelbase trim and the other one is the Lexus LS 460 L which is a long-wheelbase trim with added features. The base LS 460 trim starts at $67,130 and comes with a 4.7-liter V8 engine that produces 380 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque along with a lot of features, including remote-linked window/moonroof opening and closing, dual-zone automatic climate control with interior air filter, smog sensor and automatic recirculation mode, and Lexus memory system to control power driver’s seat.

The LX 460 L trim starts at $72,675. This trim is equipped with the same engine, along with other features such as power door closers and power trunk open/close, climate-comfort front seats with heat/cool knob, intelligent high-beam headlamps, LED headlamps with dynamic auto-leveling, the dual-swivel adaptive front lighting system (AFS) with headlamp washers, front and rear parking sensors, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, and front and rear parking sensors.

Engine and Performance
8.6/10

The Lexus LS 460 starts at $72,675 and comes with a 4.6-liter V8 engine under its hood outputting 380 hp and 367 lb-ft. The Lexus LS 460 takes 5.4 seconds to reach a speed of 60mph and 14.2 seconds to cross the quarter-mile mark.

The Lexus LS 460 is limited to a top speed of 127 mph. The performance of the Lexus is great but it lacks connectivity with the driver. Considering the fact that people opting for this car are not looking for a very fast sports car but something that they can travel in very comfortably, the LS 460 does deliver very well in that case.
