About 2011 Toyota Sequoia

3.9

Overall Rating

The  2011Toyota Sequoia sees no change from its 2010 version. It is still a huge but refined car that can carry up to eight passengers with the utmost ride quality that can be expected from SUVs. It is powered by a 5.7 L V-8 engine that produces 381 hpand is connected to rearwheel drive or four-wheel-drive systems through a six speed shiftable automatic transmission.

The 2011 Toyota Sequoia is a full-size three-row SUV. The power is derived from a 4.6 liter making 310 hp in its base trim. The higher two trims do get a bigger 5.7 liter V8 making 381 hp. The power goes to the rear wheels while the option of four-wheel drive is available on the SUV. The interior is spacious and seats 8 people but can get captains chairs and seat 7 as well. The Sequoia is priced at a starting MSRP of $41,915, bringing it into direct competition with the Ford Expedition, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Nissan Armada.

We recommend getting the SR5 trim. It comes with the basics, plus it is considerably cheaper than the other two. Additionally, it is the SR5 trim that comes with the optional extra packages, unlike the Limited and Platinum which have a fixed set of features. We do recommend getting the optional captains chairs.

Cons

  • Higher trims are pricey

It is powered by a 5.7 L V-8 engine that produces 381 hpand is connected to rearwheel drive or four-wheel-drive systems through a six speed shiftable automatic transmission.

On the outside, the Toyota Sequoia looks bulky, like it goes to the gym and works out for six hours a day focusing on heavyweights. There is a big grille, a comparatively high hood, and flared fenders.

The SR5 trim features a sunroof, side steps, a roof rack, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Limited trim replaces the 18” alloys and adds 20-inch wheels, which are also seen on the Platinum trim. There is an optional package for the SR5 trim called the Sports Appearance package that includes 20-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and foglights.

Final Verdict

The 2011 Toyota Sequoia comes with a good amount of space for 8 people across the three rows. We do like the Captain’s chairs the most, even though it reduces the seating capacity. The base 4.6-liter engine is good enough for all your needs and is as powerful as its competition. Good safety and technology features make this a good SUV to consider in the segment.
