Used 2011 Toyota Sequoia Platinum for sale 

The Toyota Sequoia comes in three trim levels - SR5, Limited, and Platinum. Except for the SR5, the Limited and Platinum trim get a 5.7 liter V8 while the SR5 gets its power from a 4.6 liter V8. All three trims have rear-wheel drive as standard and are available as four-wheel-drive. The price starts at $41,915 and goes up to $62,290. 

We Recommend 

We recommend getting the SR5 trim. It comes with the basics, plus it is considerably cheaper than the other two. Additionally, it is the SR5 trim that comes with the optional extra packages, unlike the Limited and Platinum which have a fixed set of features. We do recommend getting the optional captains chairs.

The Toyota Sequoia comes with the 4.6 L V8 making 310 hp and 327 foot-pounds of talk. There is a 5.7 L V8 which makes 381 hp and 401 foot-pounds of talk, which is standard on the Limited and Platinum models and optional on the SR5. Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, which directs all the power to the rear wheels. There is the optional four-wheel-drive available.

In the performance test, the Toyota Sequoia does the 0 to 60 sprint in 7.2 seconds and the standing quarter-mile in 15.6 seconds. The 5.7 L V8 does 0 to 60 in 6.7 seconds. When equipped properly, the Toyota Sequoia can tow up to 6,900 pounds with the 4.6 liters and 7,400 pounds with the 5.7 liter V8.

The most powerful of the above cars is the Chevrolet Tahoe which makes 320hp. Following closely is the Nissan Armada with 317 hp. The third on the list come the Ford Expedition and the Toyota Sequoia, both making 310 hp. The Toyota Sequoia does the 0-60 sprint in 7.2 seconds, the fastest of the above cars.

The Toyota Sequoia gives 14 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway, and a combined mpg of 16. The fuel capacity of Sequoia is 26.4 gallons, which allows it a range of 370 miles in the city, 528 miles on the highway, and 422 miles combined. The 5.7 L V8 offers 14 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway, and a combined of 15 mpg. The four-wheel-drive models give 1 mpg less than the standard rear-wheel drive setup. 

The most combined range is given by the Ford expedition of 448 miles. Following this is a Chevrolet Tahoe with 442 miles, the Toyota Sequoia with a combined range of 422 miles, and the Nissan Armada and 420 miles. When comparing the combined mileage, Chevrolet Tahoe leads the race with 17 mpg.

The Toyota Sequoia can accommodate eight occupants on the inside across the three rooms. The second-row seats are 40/20/40 split-bench seats, and there is the option to get captain chairs (standard on Platinum trim), which reduces the seating capacity to 7. There is a power-adjustable driver seat available on the SR5 trim and this continues on to the Limited trim as well. The Platinum trim has power-folding and reclining rear seats as well, along with the heated and cooled function on the front seats.

An option available is a Premium package for the SR5 only, which includes leather upholstery, seating capacity of 8 people, heated driver and front passenger seats, and power-folding and reclining third-row seats. The Toyota Sequoia comes with a cargo capacity of 18.9 ft.³ and this can be increased by folding the third row and the second row flat which opens up to 120 ft.³.

The 2011 Toyota Sequoia offers the most amount of legroom in the front row, the least amount of legroom in the second row, and offers the most amount of legroom in the third row. In terms of cargo capacity, the most is offered by the Nissan Armada. The Ford Expedition when equipped with the third row offers slightly lesser cargo space than the Toyota Sequoia. How intuitive is the Infotainment unit 2011 Toyota Sequoia?

The Toyota Sequoia comes with a CD player, a radio which also has the features of USB connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, and an eight-speaker audio system.

The Limited trim adds a 14 speaker JBL audio system with a 6CD changer. The top-of-the-line Platinum trim adds on a navigation system that can be operated via the accompanying touchscreen display. Few key features include-

On the outside, the Toyota Sequoia looks bulky, like it goes to the gym and works out for six hours a day focusing on heavyweights. There is a big grille, a comparatively high hood, and flared fenders.

The SR5 trim features a sunroof, side steps, a roof rack, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Limited trim replaces the 18” alloys and adds 20-inch wheels, which are also seen on the Platinum trim. There is an optional package for the SR5 trim called the Sports Appearance package that includes 20-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and foglights. 

In terms of exterior dimensions, the above SUVs are all similar to each other. The difference comes in the form of curb weight where the Toyota Sequoia is the heaviest of the above SUVs by nearly 300 pounds. The lightest SUV on the table comes in the form of Nissan Armada at 5,346 lbs. Major exterior highlights of the SUV include-

NHTSA has not yet completed crash testing of the 2011 Toyota Sequoia, although we expect the SUV to get good scores. The IIHS has also not yet crash-tested the 2011 Toyota Sequoia. That being said, the Toyota Sequoia comes with many safety features to keep the passengers safe in most conditions. Major safety features include-

The 2011 Toyota Sequoia comes with a good amount of space for 8 people across the three rows. We do like the Captain’s chairs the most, even though it reduces the seating capacity. The base 4.6-liter engine is good enough for all your needs and is as powerful as its competition. Good safety and technology features make this a good SUV to consider in the segment.
