The 2012 Chevy Camaro gets a hike in its power output, and the 3.6-liter V6 engine now generates a whopping 323 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired up with only a 6-speed manual transmission, and the power is sent only to the rear wheels as standard. The performance is pretty brisk, bringing up 60 mph from a standstill in under 7 seconds, while a quarter-mile is done in 15.3 seconds.

The Ford Mustang is the most affordable of the three American pony cars, and despite having a lower engine output as compared to the Camaro, it is the quickest off the line. The Dodge Challenger is the most expensive car in here and has a performance similar to that of the Camaro even with the lower engine output.
