The 2013 Audi Q7 is Audi’s largest SUV offering with a seating capacity for 7 people. The new Audi Q7 has a 3.0-liter Supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with two engine outputs. An eight-speed automatic is mated to the engine and this directs all the power to all the wheels.
The interior of the Q7 is simple but is very comfortable. Power-adjustable front row seats and reclinable second-row seats are available. There are also multiple zone climate control available as well as cold and warm weather packages. Audi priced the Q7 at a starting MSRP of $46,800, bringing it into direct competition with the BMW X5, Lincoln MKX, and the Porsche Cayenne.
We recommend buying the Premium trim as it has the basics of a luxury vehicle and comes with an adequate amount of space. Additionally, the added features on the higher trims come as optional extras for you to add on when you are buying the SUV.

We recommend buying the Premium trim as it has the basics of a luxury vehicle and comes with an adequate amount of space. Additionally, the added features on the higher trims come as optional extras for you to add on when you are buying the SUV.

The most powerful of the above is the Lincoln MKX which makes 305 hp, then comes the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5 both make 300 hp, and then comes the Audi Q7 making 280 hp. In the performance tests, the Audi Q7 is the slowest of the above cars in the 0-60 sprint and the standing quarter mile.
The Audi Q7 gives 16 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway, and a combined mpg of 18. How do you equip the Q7 with the fuel capacity of 26.4 gallons allowing it to have a range of 422 miles in the city, 581 miles on the highway on a combined range of 475 miles.
Irrespective of the three trends and the two different power outputs from the same engine the fuel type is the same and so are the fuel economy numbers. This just goes to show how well engineered the Audi Q7 is.

The most common range is given by the Porsche Cayenne with 501 miles. Then comes the Audi Q7 with 475 miles, the BMW X5 with 427 miles of combined range, and then comes the Lincoln MKX with a range of 361 miles. The difference between the Lincoln and the rest is in the range is due to the smaller fuel tank capacity.
The Audi Q7 can seat 7 occupants across the 3 rows. The interior is simple and is meant for a comfort creature. The interior of the Audi Q7 features 8-way power-adjustable front seats. There is no change in the seats for the rest of the trims. The second-row seats of the Q7 on all levels are sliding and reclining 40/20/40 split-bench seats. A cold weather package adds heating features to the second-row seats as well as a heated steering wheel.
The interior upholstery on all trims is leather upholstery. There is a warm-weather package on the Premium Plus trim which is included on the Prestige trim and this includes a four-zone automatic climate control for the car, by standard dual-zone automatic air conditioning is fitted as standard.
The trunk capacity of the Q7 is 10.9 cu-ft and can be expanded thanks to the last and second row folded down.

The most legroom in the front row is offered by the Q7, we reckon it is more than the Cayenne as well. In the second row it offers more than the BMW X5, but not to worry there is a third row, as it has three rows we know the space is adequate for a family as it has a capacity to seat more than the other three SUVs.
The 2013 Audi Q7 comes with an 11 speaker sound system with a CD player installed in the console. There is also Audi’s music interface installed on the color screen. Also included in this is Bluetooth connectivity and SiriusXM satellite radio (3-month complimentary subscription). However, The higher trims do get Audi’s Multimedia Interface (MMI) with Navigation plus and a 14 speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound system.
The Audi exterior styling is simple with a very big grille with the Audi logo in the center. However, there is not much chrome on the exterior and this gives it a nice low-key look, even if the slightly sloping roofline grabs your attention. The rest of the SUV looks like an SUV and is very tastefully finished.
The exterior features 18” wheels standard and one can opt for bigger wheels all the way to 21” wheels. The roof has a panoramic sunroof and if you opt for the warm weather package you get a deep-tint version of it. For towing there is a towing package as well which gives it a tow hook and has its towing capacity improved.

In terms of the exterior dimensions, Audi Q7 is longer than the other SUVs. In the other dimensions, the Audi Q7 is similar to the other cars. The difference does come in curb weight, here the Q7 is the heaviest of the above cars more than 800 pounds more than the lightest SUV - the Lincoln MKX.
The NHTSA has not completed crash testing of the new Audi Q7. We expect it to have good scores on its tests. The IIHS has tested the SUV and has given it “good” in the tests conducted. However, it did not get a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS. Audi does prioritize safety and for that, it has equipped the Q7 with many safety features, some of them are:
The Audi Q7comes with a supercharged engine. The engines offer plenty of power for everyday driving and come with an AWD system as standard. The interiors are comfortable and spacious and offer more seating capacity than its competition. There is also Audi’s MMI system which caters to all your entertainment needs and the safety features focused on keeping you safe. We would say this is a good option to keep in mind.
