The Camaro is in the 5th generation since it first came out. The Chevrolet Camaro has always blown us away with its potential to do everything that you throw at it with ease, and year after year, the car has been unlocking its full capacity to do even better. The car is available as a coupe or a convertible and has the looks of a modern muscle car that catches everyone's eyes. But now we’re going to be talking about the very special, very sporty Camaro ZL1. If you want to read about the standard Camaro, you can click here.
We recommend the Camaro ZL1. Yes, we do. There’s nothing more than this, other than the convertible ZL1. It’s the heavy hitter performance car, and even in your daily life, this car can make a difference and make you feel like an elite. You can enjoy high-standard performance parts, loud exhausts, and that fast-speed run if you are in that type of a thing.

The handling of the ZL1 makes it a better streetcar. The Shelby is the quickest of the lot and does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. The quarter-mile mark also comes up in 11.5 seconds. It has the highest top speed at 190 mph. The ZL1 makes 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 185 mph. The Challenger is slower than them both, by half a second. All three cars were easy to drive and had excellent stability.
The fuel economy on the ZL1 is not at all good. Keep this car for short drives, roam around the city, and nothing more. Better, take it to a race track because that’s home. The mileage of the car is a mere 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg out on the highway. The automatic gets even worse, with numbers like 12 mpg and 18 mpg in the city and the highway, respectively.

The GT500 has a respectable 24 mpg on the highway, the most in this comparison. The Challenger is just behind at 23 mpg, whereas the Camaro stands last. Fuel tank capacities stand at 19 for the ZL1, 19.5 for the Challenger, and 16 for the GT500, the lowest of them all. Even so, the range on the ZL1 is disappointing at 226 miles and 361 miles in the city and on the highway, respectively. The Challenger has the best figures at 273 miles (city) and 448 miles (highway).
The interior on the ZL1 nods to the old school cars with its retro touches in the car, but the car's interior is pretty modern overall. The overall finish levels are good, and you’ll see a lot of use of hard plastics, but it all drowns in the neatness.
However, it can do with better finishing, and the insides are not as useful as that of the rivals. The coupe comes with a cargo capacity of 11.3 cubic feet.

The seating in the ZL1 is both good and bad. The front seats are excellent in comfort, and they offer great support. The backseat, however, is not good for anyone more than 4 feet in height. There’s simply not enough legroom, and everything is cramped in the back. The one common problem, however, is the low roofline which restricts headroom as well. The low roofline coupled with the thick pillars hampers the visibility as well. There is no storage space enough for anything sizable, maybe at most, you can keep backpacks. The Challenger is slightly better, but not enough. A few interior features of the Camaro ZL1 are:
The infotainment unit is feature-rich and pretty useful. A CD player, satellite radio, auxiliary audio input jack, USB/iPod interface, MyLink smartphone integration, Bluetooth audio, and a 9-speaker Boston Acoustics sound system are available as standard equipment on the Camaro ZL1. Some standout infotainment features include:
The 2013 Camaro ZL1 has no changes to the exterior. The Camaro looks muscular, bold, and sporty from all angles. You have a massive hood on the front, with 2 lines passing along the bumped-up central area.
The headlamps are not big in shape but look mean. The rear of the car looks deep and intense, with sharp creases and dual exhausts. The ZL1 gets unique front and rear fascias that set it apart from the other Camaros.

All the 3 cars are pretty long and broad. The GT500 has the least wheelbase and the least width. It is also the lightest car in this comparison. The heavy weight of the Challenger is what eats into its performance, and it also has the longest wheelbase. The ZL1’s dimensions stand at 190.4 inches in length, 75.5 inches in width, and 54.2 inches in height. It has a wheelbase of 112.3 inches. Some of the exterior features of the ZL1 are:
Standard safety equipment for the ZL1 includes antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, front knee airbags, and traction control. The OnStar telematics is also standard. The car has scored a 5-star safety rating from NHTSA, which stands as solid proof of its safety potential. A few safety features are listed below:
Any driving enthusiast is going to love the performance of the Camaro ZL1. The electronics package, the launch control, all shall bring a smile to your face. Switch this all off, and the massive V8 will eat through the tread and make all smoke. The ZL1 is the burnout king. It has great handling and is very stable. There are a few negatives – but the vibe this car oozes is enough to look past them all and put all your money in it. The Camaro has everything to bring out the racer in you. Do a test drive and enjoy.
