The G37x in itself is a standalone trim and acts as the most premium variant of the G sedan lineup. The sedan gets all the bells and whistles that Infiniti managed to throw into this midsize luxury sedan. It is not only capable in terms of performance but also has loads of creature comforts on offer. The sedan is available with a price tag of $35,355, which makes it a cheaper option than the rivals in the segment.

Since there aren’t trim or variants to choose from, our job here is pretty much done for the G37x. With standard features like 17-inch painted alloy wheels, 8-way power multi-level heating front seats w/leather upholstery, tilt and telescopic leather steering wheel, dual zone front climate control, and more, the sedan makes an attractive proposition.

The 2013 G37x is powered by a powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine producing 328 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission, and the power is sent to all four wheels as standard.

The performance of the G37x is pretty brisk as a 0-60 mph run is done in just over 6 seconds while the quarter-mile is covered in under 14 seconds. 

The Cadillac ATS is the priciest one in this comparison, costing about $10,000 more than the G37x and yet is only marginally quicker than the Infiniti. The Acura TL SH is also costlier than the Infiniti and yet it is slower than the G37x. Thus, it is the G37x that offers the best performance at an affordable price amongst the cars present here.

The powerful V6 engine isn’t a big gas guzzler as well, returning good fuel economy figures. The EPA rates the 2013 G37x for 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highways, while the combined city and highway fuel economy is rated for 20 mpg. The large 20-gallon fuel tank is an additional benefit as it aids in providing a solid driving range on a single tank of gas. 

The Acura TL and the Cadillac ATS both have marginally higher fuel efficiency than the Infiniti, but the ATS employs a much smaller gas tank and hence has the shortest driving range to offer in this comparison. The Acura too has a marginally lower fuel tank capacity and hence offers a driving range almost similar to that of the G37x.

The cabin of the G37x is handsomely built and has high-quality materials and superior build quality to offer. Although the quality of materials isn’t on par with the Germans, it does manage to give an upmarket feeling inside.

The front has abundant space, while the rear seat is spacious enough to sit average-sized Americans in decent comfort. The sedan comes with a cargo capacity of 13.5 cubic feet.

The Acura TL has much more cabin space on offer than the other two cars here, and the luggage capacity too is only marginally lower than the Infiniti. The ATS has a much more compact cabin and has lower legroom and a smaller trunk than both the other cars. When comparing the cargo capacity, Infiniti manages to offer the most at 13.5 cu-ft, followed by Acura and Cadillac. Major interior features include-

How is the 2013 INFINITI G37x Sedan’s infotainment system?

The infotainment system on offer from Infiniti is pretty intuitive to use, with user-friendly controls and the iPod interface together while the navigation system is one of the best available at this price point. The optional Bose audio system also requires a special mention and is a definite add-on if high-quality music is your top priority. Major infotainment features include-

The car looks stylish and plush with a slim front grille, large swept-back headlights, and multi-spoke alloy wheels, and all these aspects together provide a more luxury car vibe than a sporty style. The sedan weighs 3,822 lbs and stands 4.9 inches above the ground.

The Acura TL is the longest car in this comparison, but the Infiniti G37x has a longer wheelbase. The Cadillac ATS is the shortest car here and yet has a wheelbase on par with the Acura. The Acura, on the other hand, has the highest ground clearance at 5.7 inches. When comparing the wheelbase, Infiniti offers the most at 112.2 inches, while the rivals come with the same dimension of 109.3 inches. Major exterior highlights of the sedan include-

Thus, considering other cars like the Cadillac ATS and Acura TL, the rivals should be the smarter choice in the segment.
