Priced at $28,100 the Ford Edge faces stiff competition from the GMC Terrain, Nissan Rogue, and Jeep Cherokee. Though all the rivals feature an inline 4 engine it is the Ford that offers a punchy V6 motor even for the base trim. It comes with a 3.5 Liter V6 with a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission. A premium and comfortable interior and a smooth ride are its other perks.

We advise you to go with the SEL trim. The SEL trim comes just after the base SE and offers more value for money option. It includes all the features from the base trim plus adds 10-way power-adjustable seats and a rear parking sensor which are very useful features.

No doubt the Ford Edge is the most powerful in the segment with its V6 motor. The only car in this segment to feature a V6 engine, while the other rivals rely on their Inline 4 setup. The second in line in terms of horsepower is the Jeep Cherokee.

As can be seen, the Nissan Rogue is clearly the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the segment. The GMC Terrain comes second in position followed by the Jeep Cherokee. 5 persons can comfortably sit inside the cabin of the Ford Edge. The cabin is quiet as it is totally noise isolated from the exterior sound. It has ample space for a comfortable seating position.

The seats come wrapped in cloth upholstery while leather upholstery can also be found in the higher trims. The materials of the cabin are made of premium material.

The front seats are supportive and comfortable. There is a power-adjustable function which is a great advantage over the manual ones. It also includes heated functionality. The rear seats can be reclined just like other cars to increase the cargo space. Rear visibility is limited as the roofline slopes down in the rear.

There are two infotainment systems on offer available for the 2014 Ford Edge. The standard system includes a 4.2-inch display. And it has buttons to control all the audio and climate functions.
