There is not much to be confused over because Lexus only offers two trim levels. Even then, the base trim is quite a bargain at $49,485 even though that is a big amount for many. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the only drivetrain is a full-time four-wheel-drive system that also comes with a low-speed transfer case. This enables the car to be as capable off-road as it is on-road and switches between the two tasks seamlessly. The SUV touches the 60 mph mark in 7.8 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 15.8 seconds.

It is the Audi Q7 and the Land Rover Discovery that have the best performance credentials of the lot. That said, all four SUVs have pretty powerful engines and have good acceleration timings.
