Overall Rating
The 2014 Lexus RX 350 carries forward the same V6 engine that delivers decent overall performance, while still being decent on the fuel economy when compared to its competitors.
While showing off a premium SUV outlook, the new Lexus RX 350 is a premium-brand crossover. The Lexus RX has always offered and ensured luxurious ride quality, great reliability, and all that at a great price too. For 2014, the RX 350 starts at a price of $39,760. It is a luxurious crossover and is ideal for long trips and city commutes with spacious interiors that can accommodate 5 people. The crossover can be considered as a decent pick for families.
If performance is your thing, then go for the F Sport, as it offers the most power. It doesn’t just offer more power, but it also offers better suspension and other performance bits that can improve the overall driving experience. But, the price hike on the higher sport trim isn’t explained by the additional equipment on offer.

The RX 350 is powered by a 3.5-Liter V6 that pumps out 270 horses and 248 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The FWD comes as standard in the base trim. But, the AWD is available as an optional extra in the standard one, whereas it is standard in the Costlier F Sport.
The engine is refined and does not interfere with the passengers' luxury cruising at all.

Fuel economy is where the RX gets beaten down by its weaker competitor, the BMW X3. The X3 gives you better fuel economy on the city roads as well as on the highway. It has a combined fuel economy of 24 mpg. And that should motivate you to go on quite a few long drives with a much more peaceful mind. As far as the tank capacity goes, the thirstier Buick has the biggest gas tank(22gallons).
As you would expect for an SUV, the 2014 Lexus RX 350 is ideal for city commutes with occasional long drives. The spacious interior can easily fit 5 people, and the comfortable seats improve the ride experience. The use of exceptional cabin materials has made the interiors a much better place.
While the front seats could have used slightly more support at certain places, the rear seats are spacious and are adjustable up to a comfortable level. Some users might find the lack of the third row slightly disappointing, but instead it gives you oodles of trunk space.

The LX 350 doesn’t have one of the best infotainment systems within the segment. The interface has an input method that is very tacky to use and makes the experience a hassled one. However, it comes loaded with several features, which makes using it further complex.
The system does require you to warm up to it. The SUV comes with a 7” display. The features coming with the infotainment system are:
Compared to the full-size SUVs that we are used to, the LX 350 is quite different. But within its class, it looks really good. It's more of a beautiful car rather than a butch SUV. The exterior uses rounded edges along with some curves to keep this car looking good.
The car is comparatively light at 4,178 lbs. It has a length of 187.8 inches while other dimensions such as width and height are 74.2 and 66.7 inches, respectively.
