The 2015 Audi S6 is one of the top contenders in the luxury sedan segment. There have been n major changes made to the S6 for this year. the only changes that we see are better standard features like the xenon headlamp and head-up display.
The 2015 Audi S6 is the beefed-up version of Audi’s stately sedan - the A6. It is available in a sedan body style and is probably one of the best midsize sports sedans available. It has an intoxicating 4.0L V-8 engine that churns out 420 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque. It delivers the 0 to 60 acceleration figure of 4.5 seconds with its highly capable Quattro drivetrain. It competes against the BMW 7-Series, Porsche Panamera, and the Cadillac CTS-V.
The 2015 Audi A6 lineup is split into two models. These are the standard A6 and its beefed-up version the S6. American shores are again denied the pleasure of the mighty RS6. The Audi A6 is reviewed separately. As for 2015 S6, there are no sub-trims available and hence users will be sold the standalone trim. This is, however, a very well-equipped car with a lot of standard features and a wide range of optional extras. Audi offers several packages like the Driver's Assist Package, Individual Contour Seating Package, Cold-Weather Package, Black Optic Package, and so on.

Since the Audi S6 is available as a standalone trim level, one only has the option of choosing between specific optional packages. Audi offers a lot like the Driver Assistance Package that includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, 360° parking camera system, Audi pre-sense, and collision mitigation system. This is the package we recommend since it adds a lot of functionality.
The Audi S6 comes with a surprisingly capable 4.0L turbocharged V-8 engine. This is the same engine one can find on bigger offerings from the brand such as the Audi RS 7. Transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and Quattro all-wheel drive is standard.
This engine produces 420 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque, which makes it worthy of its super sedan tag. This engine does 0- 60 mph in a blisteringly quick 4.5 seconds and is very characterful throughout the rev range.

The biggest and most powerful engine in this class is the Cadillac CTS-V, which has a 6.2L naturally aspirated V-8 engine that produces 556 hp. Cadillac offers this beast with the cheapest price tag on the block. Both Audi and Porsche stand together at the end with a power output of 420 hp. When it comes to 0-60 mph timing, the sedan with the most horsepower, Cadillac CTS-V leads the race at 4.0 seconds.
We find that the Audi S6 is quite good in the fuel efficiency department. The sedan returns an EPA estimate of 17 mpg in the city, 27 MPG on the highway, and 20 MPG in the combined cycle. Available with a fuel tank of 19.8 gallons, it returns a respectable 336 miles in the city and 534 miles of range on the highway.

The Porsche Panamera is the most fuel-efficient by virtue of its smaller engine. The least impressive figure is that of the Cadillac which returns 14 mpg in the city, 19 mpg on the highway, and 18 mpg combined. The biggest tank comes in both BMW and Porsche but the Porsche has the highest range, thanks to its class-leading mpg figures.
The Audi S6 has an interior that is very similar to its luxury sedan sibling, the A6. It gets S-specific styling, and even though the design looks simple, it is compensated for with the use of excellent materials and good ergonomics.
The seats are supportive and comfortable as well. The standard MMI system is also one of the best around and offers a seamless experience. The cargo capacity is also generous at 14.1 ft.³. The car can seat five people and does so very comfortably.Â

All cars in this category seat five adults, except the Porsche, which seats only four. The Porsche may appear a bit cramped to passengers in the rear seat, especially in terms of legroom. The Cadillac has decent interior space despite not looking so. The BMW 7 Series is very spacious, but it is the Audi that offers the most amount of cargo space. Some standout interior features available with the S6 are:
The infotainment aspects of the sedan are controlled by the impressive Audi Multimedia Interface System. It is the system currently being offered in all of Audi’s top offerings and offers a seamless experience.
The system is intuitive and brings a delightful experience for the driver and passengers combined. Few standout infotainment features available are-
The Audi S6 is not muscular like many of its performance siblings but has an elegant design, which even though not very modern, is quite handsome to begin with. It does remain much similar to the Audi A6 that it is derived from.
The car has more aggressive details than its sedate sibling, but definitely does not go overboard with it. It measures 193.9 inches in length, 73.8 inches in width, and 57.8 inches in height, the same as the A6.

One can see that all cars in the segment are somewhat of the same dimensions, except the Cadillac. The Porsche is one of the largest cars of the lot as well as the lightest. The Audi is the second heaviest, after the BMW. When it comes to ground clearance, BMW stands the tallest to the ground at 6 inches. Few standout exterior highlights of the sedan are-
The Audi A6, the car on which the S6 is based on, has been crash-tested by the IIHS and the NHTSA. It has scored five out of five stars in the NHTSA crash tests, which is the highest rating possible.
The IIHS has rated the A6 as ‘Good’ overall, which is the highest rating possible again. The sedan packs a lot of amazing technology that includes antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front and rear parking sensors, airbags, ABS, and so on. Some standout safety features include:
The2015 Audi S6 is a great car with a V-8 engine that promises supreme refinement and impressive fuel efficiency. It brings Audi’s amazing Quattro technology in a package that’s very fun to drive and comfortable as well. But for us, the biggest appeal is that it is stately and can pass up as a luxury car. The car uses an excellent powertrain, top-notch interiors, and provides excellent optional packages as well. It represents the best of what Audi is doing, and therefore is a considerable pick.
