The BMW M2 Coupe is priced starting at an MSRP of $51,700 and comes with a single-engine and a single trim level. This engine produces 365 hp, which for this size, does sound like a lot, and it sure gives the car a lot to enjoy.
The BMW M2 Coupe is pretty much the best BMW of the past decade. There has been a slew of cars that have worn BMW badges but have not carried that same heritage in the past few years as the M2. It has a 3.0 L turbocharged inline-6 engine. The car is luxurious and yet playful and is available with a manual transmission.
The 2016 BMW M2 Coupe is offered in a single trim level – and there is the option of a single-engine and gearbox. A 3.0 L inline-6 turbocharged engine produces 365 hp. The car has a rear-wheel-drive platform, which is very important to keep the character of the car intact. And finally, you have a 6-speed manual only which adds to the playfulness of the car again.

Although the car is available only in one trim, it is fully equipped with features such as 19 inch alloy wheels, automatic wipers, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, 10 way power-adjustable front sport seats, navigation systems, iDrive infotainment system, and the 12 speaker Harman Kardon audio system. We recommend adding the optional Executive package, which adds features like the heated steering wheel, rearview camera, rear parking sensors, frontal collision warning and mitigation and lane departure warning system.
The 2016 BMW M2 Coupe is offered without any choice of engine or gearbox – a 6-speed manual is mated to a 3.0 L turbocharged inline-6 engine producing 365 hp @ 6500 rpm and a torque of 369 lb-ft @ 1400 rpm is standard. The powertrain is very powerful and makes way for an exciting driving experience.
All the cars come with a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain, which is honestly where BMW’s sports sedans and coupes have established their mark. It feels no different with the BMW M2. The car sprints from 0-60MPH in 4.2 seconds and covers the quarter-mile in 12.8 seconds which makes it pretty quick.

The BMW M2 is not just the most powerful vehicle in its class but it is also the most enjoyable with its excellent handling. Unfortunately, these performance credentials cannot nearly be put on paper. In comparison, the Audi is not any faster in terms of performance despite having a huge advantage in the form of all-wheel drive. The Cayman sounds like it is down on a lot of power when you compare it side by side but makes up for that with real-world performance.
The 2016 BMW M2’s engine has had only one complaint turn up against it – that it is not aurally the most pleasing. What I mean to say is that one cannot just respect it for good performance but also for its excellent efficiency. The engine returns 18 MPG within city limits, 26 MPG on the highways, which results in a combined mileage of 21 MPG. It has a lower fuel capacity of 13.7 gallons, which is in fact, the lowest in the class.

Although the BMW M2 has a very frugal engine, its rival, the Porsche impresses even further. The BMW, despite being more powerful, is also more fuel-efficient than the Audi S5. But the M2 loses out on the total range as it has a considerably smaller tank. The Porsche has a much more fuel-efficient engine and an even larger tank, making it the best in terms of fuel consumption.
The 2016 BMW M2’s interiors are very similar to the regular 2 Series interiors. That is, however, a compliment. The design is sporty and dynamic, and the ergonomics feel perfect.
Material quality is top-notch throughout, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. The Coupe can accommodate 4 passengers, but the ride is a bit too safe to ever use the backseat. The front seats are extremely comfortable but the second row feels very cramped for adults.

From the data, it is clear that the BMW M2 and Audi S5 are pretty evenly matched in terms of interior space, but in the second-row legroom, the M2 provides enough for seating an adult, whereas the Audi does not. The only disadvantage is that the BMW has the least cargo space. Porsche does not reveal the interior dimensions of their cars and hence we cannot make a comparison there. The main interior features of the 2016 BMW M2 include:
The BMW M2 not only has excellent infotainment features but the interface is very smooth and responsive. The iDrive system has nearly been perfected these days, and that clearly shows in the way the BMW M2 is interacting with the customer. The sound quality is excellent and so is navigation. The standout infotainment features of the 2016 BMW M2 include:
The exterior styling of the 2016 BMW M2 is absolutely gorgeous. With its elder siblings facing a lot of slack for their new design language, the 2 Series feels like the last bastion of good BMW design. The car feels dynamic even while standing still. Dimensions are quite small, which makes driving in that car to be quite enjoyable.

The Audi is the heaviest car when you compare it to its rivals by a considerable amount. The BMW M2 is also closely matched, but it weighs less with a more powerful engine. The Porsche Cayman is the lightest car among its rivals due to its superior weight reduction. The main exterior features of the 2016 BMW M2 include:
Both IIHS and NHTSA have not tested the coupe for 2016. There also have been no crash-test ratings for the regular BMW 2 Series vehicles either, which makes it hard to tell about the safety. However, BMW has filled the coupe with a variety of active and passive safety features, making the car a safe haven for passengers inside. The main safety features of the 2016 BMW M2 Coupe include:
The 2016 BMW M2 is an amazing car with excellent performance as well as practicality. It is undoubtedly the pick of the lot as it is a car that is very surefooted and fun to play with. Starting at an MSRP of $51,700, the M2 is cheaper as well as stands as a much better option overall in the segment.
