Overall Rating
The new 488 GTB still feels, sounds and performs like a Ferrari in every way possible.
The new mid-engine Ferrari 488 GTB amplifies everything from the outgoing 458 Italia. The naturally aspirated V8 has been replaced with a twin-turbo V8 which may disappoint some people, but keep in mind one of the best Ferraris ever made – the F-40 was turbocharged.
The 488 GTB can be customized to your particular taste. Of course, it comes with a premium and can cost thousands of dollar over the base price. If you have the extra cash then go for it as it will make your GTB one of a kind.

The new 488 can be bought as either a coupe or a spider. The Coupe starts at a price of $245,400. The GTB can be customized however you want it with choices of leathers, finishes and stitching just to name a few. What can't be customized is the outdated infotainment system.

The 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB and 488 Spider go turbo, and they wear their technical sophistication and racing pedigree a little more overtly this time, although there's still plenty of sensual beauty to behold insight and sound.- The Car Connection
Behind the seats, there is a 3.9L twin-turbo V8 that generates 661 horsepower and 561 pounds-feet of torque. The 7-speed automated manual transmission is quicker than before. Although the Engine is turbocharged it 488 GTB still revs up to 8000 rpm.
According to Ferrari, the 488 GTB will generate maximum torque in third gear at 1000 rpm in just 0.8 seconds.

The 488 GTB is quicker than a bat out of hell it goes from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.8 seconds. If the 488 is quick to speed up it is even better while slowing down 60 MPH to a complete halt only takes 94 feet.
Talking about the fuel efficiency of a Ferrari is like talking about the aerodynamics of a pickup. The EPA has rated the 488 GTB at 15 mpg for the city, 22 mpg for the highway and 18 mpg combined which is actually very impressive for Ferrari's most powerful production V-8 engine.

What is also surprising is that it has the highest capacity fuel tank among the competition at 22.7 gallons which means fewer gas stops for the Gumball rally.
The interior of the 488 GTB is quite different than that found in the 458. Classic Ferrari elements remain.-The Car Connection
The Ferrari interiors have always been unique and more like a race car rather than a luxury one. Everything is robust and finished in expensive materials like carbon fibre. There are control switches on the steering wheel and on the bridge. The layout is typical Ferrari-like. The bucket seats are comfortable and hug you at sharp corners.

The headroom and legroom is better than the previous models and taller people can now feel more comfortable. The cargo space is also not too bad at 8.12 cubic feet but the in-cabin storage is lacking.
The 2016 488 GTB simply looks more technical and modern on the outside, yet that doesn't mean its forgone sex appeal. -The Car Connection
The new 488 GTB looks more purposeful from the outside. There are vents on each side to suck in air for the turbos. The front and rear fascia are now more angular. Overall the car looks bigger and bulkier as compared to the 458. The car looks like it was shaped for speed.

The 488 family keeps the organic voluptuous look of old, yet has sheet metal carved out in a way that gives the design far more presence when you're right up next to it. - The Car Connection
Standard safety features for the 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB include
2016 Ferrari 488 GTB vs. 2016 McLaren 570 S
The 570 S from McLaren is a tough rival of the Ferrari, the Ferrari feels more traditional while the McLaren feels more sophisticated while driving, it also lacks the sound the 488 GTB makes.
In terms of design, the 570 S looks futuristic and unique and can be spotted from far ahead whereas the 488 can easily be mistaken for a 458. In terms of pricing, the McLaren seems a better deal as it is more affordable and offer jaw-dropping performance. But the 488 GTB has more power and the engine feels livelier than the 570 S.
2016 Ferrari 488 GTB vs. 2016 Lamborghini Huracan
The Ferrari 488 GTB has more power and torque and performs better in every aspect as compared to the Huracan. But the Prancing Horse badge comes at a higher price than the Huracan.
The 488 GTB also has a twin-turbo V8 engine like all of the cars this category other than the Huracan. So if you truly want the noisy naturally aspirated engine there is no other option than the Huracan.
The evolution for the mid-engine Ferrari line-up the 488 GTB blends the traditional Ferrari character with modern tech that makes it one of the best performing car on the market today.
The Slide Slip Control featured lets you whip out the tail on corners without any fear of losing control. The high horsepower and torque figures makes it a monster on both road and track. This Ferrari has set the new benchmark for supercars in terms of performance.
