The new 488 can be bought as either a coupe or a spider. The Spyder starts at a price of $272,700. The Spyder can be customized however you want it with choices of leathers, finishes and stitching just to name a few. What can't be customized is the outdated infotainment system.

Behind the seats, there is a 3.9L twin-turbo V8 that generates 661 horsepower and 561 pounds-feet of torque. The 7-speed automated manual transmission is quicker than before. Although the Engine is turbocharged it 488 Spyder still revs up to 8000 rpm.

According to Ferrari, the 488 Spyder will generate maximum torque in third gear at 1000 rpm in just 0.8 seconds.

The 488 Spyder is quicker than a bat out of hell it goes from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.8 seconds. If the 488 is quick to speed up it is even better while slowing down 60 MPH to a complete halt only takes 94 feet.

Talking about the fuel efficiency of a Ferrari is like talking about the aerodynamics of a pickup. The EPA has rated the 488 Spyder at 15 mpg for the city, 22 mpg for the highway and 18 mpg combined which is actually very impressive for Ferrari's most powerful production V-8 engine.

What is also surprising is that it has the highest capacity fuel tank among the competition at 22.7 gallons which means fewer gas stops for the Gumball rally.

The Ferrari interiors have always been unique and more like a race car rather than a luxury one. Everything is robust and finished in expensive materials like carbon fibre. The head room and leg room is better than the previous models and taller people can now feel more comfortable. The cargo space is also not too bad at 8.12 cubic feet but the in-cabin storage is lacking.
