The new Land Rover Range Rover starts at $84,950 for the base SE trim with a 340 HP Supercharged V6 Engine. All trims and models have 4WD as standard. The HSE trim starts at $91,950 and has a 380 HP Supercharged V6 under its hood. Next in line is the Supercharged trim which is equipped with a 510 HP Supercharged V8 which is also equipped in the more expensive Autobiography trim which starts at $139,995. Both the Supercharged and Autobiography come with an option to further choose for a long wheel base variant. The most expensive and luxurious SV Autobiography LWB trim comes exclusively with a 550 HP Supercharged V8 engine and has a starting price of $199,495.

The 2016 Land Rover Range Rover comes equipped with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that puts out a maximum power of 340 hp and a maximum torque of 332 lb-ft in the base SE trim. The HSE trim comes with the same engine but outputs an increased 380 hp.

The Supercharged and Autobiography trims come with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque while the top end SV Autobiography trim comes with a tweaked version of the same engine outputting a better 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. The engine's power is transferred to the wheels through 8-speed automatic transmission. The Range Rover Autobiography reaches 60mph in 5 seconds flat and crosses the quarter-mile mark in 15 seconds which is extremely impressive considering its size and heft. The base price of the Range Rover is $84,950.

In comparison, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is the fastest of the lot, with a 4.8 L V8 under its hood putting out 570 hp and 590 lb-ft that drags the Porsche to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and crosses the quarter-mile mark in 12.15 seconds. The Porsche is in sportscar territory when it comes to performance. Meanwhile, the Mercedes with a 5.5L V8 under throws the slowest figures, but only by a marginal difference, crossing the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds.

Considering its size and segment, the Range Rover can be considered a moderately fuel-efficient vehicle, delivering a fuel-efficiency of 14 mpg in the city, 19 on the highway, and 16 mpg of combined fuel economy. The Range Rover gets a 27.7-gallon fuel capacity outputting a range of 388 miles in the city, 526 on the highway, and a combined range of 443 miles. The efficiency figures are on par with other performance-oriented vehicles in the segment.

Yet again, the Porsche delivers the best-combined fuel efficiency of 17 mpg, while the Mercedes continues to fail with 13 mpg combined. Meanwhile, the Range Rover equips the biggest fuel capacity of 27.7 gallons followed by the Porsche with a 26.4-gallon tank and the Mercedes with 25.4 gallons of fuel capacity. 

Despite its midsize nature, Range Rover provides great space and comfort throughout the cabin. The interiors feature high-quality elements and materials including figured Macassar Wood Veneer interior finish, Morzine, Alston or perforated leather headlining, heated seats and leather steering wheel garnished with chrome-plated gear paddles.

The interior is super luxurious, although not the most affluent, and features a rich and high tech interior of any SUV.

The Mercedes offers the most legroom option in the front row, followed by the Porsche and the Range Rover. When it comes to second-row space, the Mercedes still has an edge as it provides legroom of 41.9 inches, while the Range Rover provides 40.2 inches. When it comes to cargo capacity, the Range Rover has the most of 32.7 cu-ft followed by the Porsche with 23.6 cu-ft of the cargo area whereas the Mercedes has the least which is 16.9 cu-ft,

The premium audio system sounds great. Rear seat entertainment system with remote control and front and rear winged headrest with eight-inch screens in the standard wheelbase variants and 10.2-inch ones in the LWB variants which also comes with two wireless earphones.
