We Recommend
We recommend buying the Premium Plus trim as it comes with all the basics you can ask for. Along with this, there is no change in the engine between the trims so irrespective of the trim you get the same driving dynamics, the difference comes with the extra features which seem really unnecessary because the Premium Plus trim has everything you need.
The new Audi S7 packs a brute 4.0-Litre twin-turbocharged V8 that develops 450 horses and 406-pound-feet of torque. The 7-speed Tiptronic transmission is buttery smooth and shifts the gears with ease. The transmission directs all the power to all the wheels.

In performance tests, the Porsche Panamera 4S does the 0-60 fastest with a time of 3.7 seconds, followed by the Audi S7 with a time of 3.9 seconds, Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 (4.4 seconds), and then comes the Maserati Ghibli S with a time of 4.7 seconds. The same order is maintained in the standing quarter-mile.
The Audi S7 might be a hatch but it has got the handling restraints of a sedan. Audi's all-wheel-drive system helps the car drive stick to the road. Out on the highway, it's a perfect cruiser. Whether you want to go fast or have a relaxing drive, it does both jobs well thanks to its standard air suspension which can be adjusted by various available drive modes. The Steering provides good feedback from the road at low speed but once you floor that pedal, it feels a bit cumbersome.
Audi has installed the big disc brakes on the S7. It gets 15.7 inches of ventilated front discs and 14 inches of ventilated rear discs. It goes from 60 MPH to a complete stop at 109 feet, a good distance for the S7 weighs in at 4,486 pounds.

The interior is simple and sophisticated. It can seat 4 occupants comfortably and comes with carbon fiber inserts, aluminum pedals, contrast dials, and S badges to ignite the cabin a little.
The 8-way power-adjustable heated leather seats are nicely appointed and comfy. The interior space of the S7 is good. Plenty of space in the front but tall passengers might feel cramped in the rear thanks to its sloping roofline design.

In terms of rear legroom the Audi S7 does have the most with 37.0 inches, followed by the Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 and then comes the Maserati Ghibli S. Some of the interior features in the new Maserati Ghibli are:
Infotainment is very user-friendly and easy to use comes in the form of an 8-inch central display which can be controlled by the control knob on the center console. The best part is that it can be tucked away to give you a look of a clutter-free dash.
The sat nav is standard but you don't get the latest infotainment which costs some extra cash along with the new 3D maps option. It is good but the new infotainment is much better.Â
The Audi S7 trunk measures at 24.5 cubic feet, pretty impressive for a Sportback styled vehicle. It has the space to hold your everyday items. The rear seats do fold down in 60/40 configuration opening up a lot more space for any additional cargo you may have.

In comparison, no one comes even close to the amount of space the S7 offers in the boot department. Maserati has the second-best boot space of 17.7 cu-ft, Porsche comes in third at 17.4 cu-ft and Mercedes is last with only 15.3 cu-ft of space, almost 9 cu-ft lesser than the S7.
Coming with signature Audi styling, it gets an eye-catching grille, aggressive LED headlights, and large air-intakes below each headlight. It rides on 19-inch as standard but you have the option of choosing 20 and 21-inch wheels. The sloping roofline gives it a Sportback touch. The rear end is pretty simple but the quad exhaust gives it away as the high-performance model.
2017 Audi S7 is 196.7 inches in length and 75.2 inches in width. Ground clearance is 4.4 inches which give it a low stance and big presence. The wheelbase is 114.8 inches providing interior space to the occupants. The height of the S7 is 55 inches which complement the aerodynamics of the car at high speeds.

In terms of exterior dimensions, the Audi S7 is similar to the others. However, the difference can be seen in the curb weight where the Audi S7 is the heaviest of the above cars, the lightest being the Maserati Ghibli S.
The NHTSA and IIHS have not safety rated the Audi S7. The Audi S7 comes with a lot of techs which can make it earn a possible five stars in the crash ratings. The standard features of the Audi S7 are below:
The Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 comes with a bigger displacement engine making lesser hp than the Audi. It is also slower in the performance tests. However, it is $5,000 cheaper than the others.
The Audi, like the Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 comes with many premium and luxurious features, and comes with one of the best driving dynamics in the automotive industry, making us choose this over the others.
Porsche is known to make reliable cars and Panamera 4S does justice to it. It is gorgeous to look at and a 4 door Porsche sedan was never even thought of. The interior quality is stunning with unlimited options to customize but also to be noted is that it's almost $20,000 more expensive than S7.
Also, when starting ticking the Porsche Panamera configurator boxes, it can swell up the asking price. S7 has a lot of things that are standard, and you might not find in the Porsche which makes the former a formidable buy at that price.
The Maserati Ghibli S is a very practical sports saloon with classy looks. It has a lightweight design and is very practical. On the other hand, the S7 is an absolute bargain for that kind of money.
It has a better engine under the hood and really good fuel figures in comparison to the Maserati, making the Audi S7 a much better option.
The Audi S7 is a premium and well-built Sportback money can get. It's fast and also luxurious making it an ideal blend of both worlds. The standard kit offered is pretty long with a varying option list that makes this car a consideration if you're in the market to buy a Sportback saloon.
