The power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The twinpower-turbo engine has been specially designed to improve fuel efficiency, and one must say that it does the needful pretty well. And yeah, it sounds good too with lag-free performance.

The highest power output in the segment is delivered by the Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63 Coupe with its powerful V8 engine. The BMW is the lone wolf of the lot and is the only car in the segment to feature an inline engine. When it comes to torque output, again Mercedes leads the race with 479 lb-ft.

Acceleration

The M4, despite its smaller engine, plays the perfect catch-up to its competitors, reaching the speed of 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and covering a quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds. The M4 is quite swift in acceleration, trailing only behind the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, which leaves all the competition in a ton of dust. 

We have to say that the BMW, Cadillac, and the Mercedes-Benz are all pretty much similar in terms of covering the first 60 mph, with just a 0.1-second difference separating them. Ride and Handling

If there is one parameter where the BMW scores over its rivals, it is handling. The M suspension is pure magic, delivering immense precision and feedback around curvy roads. BMW is known for its handling prowess, but after driving an M4, you'll realize that BMW has gone a little soft with this one. The steering response isn't adequate, and it can be felt while cornering.

The driver's seat is a bit hard but that shouldn't be much of an issue.

The Lexus RC F has a much bigger engine than the BMW, but again, the BMW generates equal torque and power. The acceleration of the Lexus is better too. And Lexus is so reliable, you will be bored with it before it ages. But then again, the M4 has a legendary track performance that's hard to match.
