M4 Coupe has had a position in the current market scenario where there aren't many others competing with it.
Ever since the time the BMW M series returned back from its sabbatical about a decade ago, the M4 Coupe has had a position in the current market scenario where there aren't many others competing with it. As always, it competes with the likes of the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Lexus RC F Coupe, and the Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63 Coupe.
The M4 coupe comes only in a single trim and is the high-performance version of the 4 Series coupe. It is priced at $66,400 and gets a V6 that makes 425 ponies. Being the only trim, the M4 has all the features and equipment that one can ask for, and if you have enough dough in your pocket, BMW allows you to choose in different packages.

The 2017 BMW M4 Coupe has only one trim on offer, which comes at a non-sense price keeping in mind the performance and luxury it has. The coupe from the stable of BMW does offer a variety of comfort and safety features along with a powerful engine to enjoy the rides. Thus, this coupe is a worthy choice.
The 2017BMW M4 Coupe is powered by a 3.0 liter 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo Engine which produces 425 hp at 5800rpm and 406 lb.-ft. at 1400rpm. The power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The twinpower-turbo engine has been specially designed to improve fuel efficiency, and one must say that it does the needful pretty well. And yeah, it sounds good too with lag-free performance.

The highest power output in the segment is delivered by the Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63 Coupe with its powerful V8 engine. The BMW is the lone wolf of the lot and is the only car in the segment to feature an inline engine. When it comes to torque output, again Mercedes leads the race with 479 lb-ft.
The M4, despite its smaller engine, plays the perfect catch-up to its competitors, reaching the speed of 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and covering a quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds. The M4 is quite swift in acceleration, trailing only behind the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, which leaves all the competition in a ton of dust.

We have to say that the BMW, Cadillac, and the Mercedes-Benz are all pretty much similar in terms of covering the first 60 mph, with just a 0.1-second difference separating them. In terms of a quarter mile, the Mercedes-Benz is way ahead, beating the other three by almost 2 seconds as it completes it in 10.4 seconds..
If there is one parameter where the BMW scores over its rivals, it is handling. The M suspension is pure magic, delivering immense precision and feedback around curvy roads. BMW is known for its handling prowess, but after driving an M4, you'll realize that BMW has gone a little soft with this one. The steering response isn't adequate, and it can be felt while cornering.
The ride quality feels good with adaptive suspensions as you won't feel many jerks inside. Also, the car is pretty agile, and the all-season tires offer a better grip on the roads. BMW M4 is a driver's car that inspires confidence at higher speed on the tarmac.
The 2017 BMW M4 Coupe has brakes that match its acceleration. This impressive braking setup does come in handy in keeping safety a priority in the coupe. It does well with the Antilock brake system, and also has brake assist. The brake assist is insane, as it alerts the driver about the possibility of a stationary object ahead.

Under a panic braking situation, the M4 takes about 104 feet to stop from a speed of 60 mph. TheCadillac is the best in this regard with 101 feet. The M4 has a very good braking system evident from its shorter stopping distance. However, as said the Cadillac here is the sure winner for having the best braking performance in the segment, while Lexus stands at the back with a braking distance of 108 feet.
The twinpower-turbo engine does what was expected from it. With a city mpg of 17 mpg and that of 26 on the highway, this BMW is definitely the best in class. At 20 mpg combined, the BMW is the best, while the other three are just a shade behind at 19 mpg. When it comes to fuel tank capacity, Lexus and Mercedes bring the biggest storage of 17.4 gallons.

The most fuel-efficient in this segment is the BMW M4 Coupe and this is admirable because of its inline engine setup. All the other cars in the competition come with either a V6 or V8 setup. Naturally, both the Cadillac and theMercedes-Benz is a gas guzzler and delivers identical fuel mileage in city, highway and combined driving conditions.
While the previous M4 had a decent interior design, the new M4 has one of the best cabins in this range. The classic BMW analog gauges encourage you to drive it as you mean it. The 2017 BMW M4 is a two-row cruiser that accommodates 4 people. It provides heated and cooled seating as well. The passenger rear seats are also electrically powered. The driver's seat is a bit hard but that shouldn't be much of an issue.

All the cars in the competition bring a seating space for four adults. The seats are electronically powered providing ample support to the driver. They are made of premium synthetic leather upholstery. Add to that leather-wrapped steering wheel that can be adjusted to the preference. Some of the interior features include:
The 2017 BMW M4 Coupe comes equipped with a 6.5-inch display. The iDrive infotainment system is incorporated within it. All the major features like HD Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a Navigation System, and Apple CarPlay are present. The BMW M series infotainment system is easy to use, once you clear the learning curve.
It provides a great interface, coupled with excellent sound. Some of the infotainment features include:
The 2017 BMW M4 Coupe has a spacious trunk. There is no load lip to lift the baggage. The storage spaces are excellent with a 12V socket as well. The rear seats are foldable, leading to an extra room. BMW offers the biggest boot space in the segment of 11.0 cubic feet. The Mercedes-Benz C 63 is a direct competitor in this parameter, but even it lags way behind in the cargo capacity of the BMW M4.

This BMW cruiser has had a little upgrade from the previous versions. It has a sharp nose and a tail end which looks smooth and luxurious. It now has one less vertical bar on the grille (now nine). This is done along with tweaks to the fog lamps and the lower air intake. With a ground clearance of 4.8 inches, it does provide adequate room to drive over bad roads as well.

The M4 Coupe is the lightest in weight in the rival segment with a curb weight of just 3,530 lbs. All the other cars have somehow higher curb weight than that of the BMW. In terms of overall length, the Cadillac ATS V-Coupe can be said to be the longest, followed by the BMW M4. Some of the exterior features include:
Neither the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety(IIHS) nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) has crash-tested the 2017 BMW M4 Coupe. So the results that depict the safety rating of the car are unavailable for the M4. It can be seen that in the BMW M4 Coupe no active safety features are included as standard. However, it has quite a few available features that include a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, and a few others. The various safety features in the BMW 640i Convertible are:
The BMW has far more advantages than the Cadillac ATS-V. Although the Cadillac does have a bigger engine, the power output is almost the same. All the other specifications do go in the favor of the BMW. The BMW is also a taller, longer, and wider car than the Cadillac, with a slightly better fuel economy than the latter. Thus, the BMW M4 Coupe is a clear winner in this comparison.
The Lexus RC F has a much bigger engine than the BMW, but again, the BMW generates equal torque and power. The acceleration of the Lexus is better too. And Lexus is so reliable, you will be bored with it before it ages. But then again, the M4 has a legendary track performance that's hard to match.
Like the other two, the Mercedes-Benz does have a bigger engine, but the BMW manages to catch hold of them in the power generation. All the other features too are pretty much similar. Although a better ride comfort, coupled with a bigger trunk and a cheaper price, the BMW wins this too.
The BMW M4 may not be too cheap and doesn't have a big engine. However, it is nothing short of a true BMW experience. It gives a sporty feel, is luxurious from the inside, and has a peppy drive quality to an immensely satisfying handling. You do have to compromise a bit on ride comfort, but that's part of the overall BMW M experience - rough and ready. However, if you do insist on more comfort, the C63 will cocoon you with some compromise on performance.
