Overview

The latest make of Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T Coupe replaces the traditional V-12 engine with a twin-turbo V-8 engine. Lusso T Coupe is ideal for those not able to make a choice between a Ferrari and a station wagon. Nonetheless, the coupe sticks to the traditional angry-wasp design. The four-seater features all-wheel-drive to offer the best driving experience.

Beneath its hide, 2018 GTC4 Lusso T Coupe features a twin-turbo 3.9L V8 engine. The robust engine is capable of producing a maximum of 602 hp of power and 561 lb.-ft. of torque. While the engine power is available at 7500 rpm max, the torque is delivered at 3000 rpm max. The hearty V8 engine is coupled with a dual-clutch 7-speed automatic transmission mode.

Engine and Performance
9.9/10

Engine and Transmission

With a 3.9L V8 engine at its disposal, 2018 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T delivers a powerful performance. Total power and torque available to the coupe are 602 hp and 561 lb.-ft., respectively. For gear shifting, the coupe relies on a 7-speed automatic transmission mode. The engine delivers power instantly and just a little flex of your right foot is enough to shoot you ahead.

Ferrari has done a great job in making this engine sound like a naturally aspirated one above 5000 rpm all the way to 8000 rpm redline. Below 5000 rpm the engine is very refined and you wouldn't actually hear it much. However, the sound and the rush is just a tap away. The 7-speed gearbox is an absolute breeze and the shifts are instantaneous as you'd expect.

However, it delivers better horsepower of 550 hp and even higher than Lusso T torque of 567 lb.-ft.

Ride and Handling

The 4RM-S system with E-Diff, F1-Trac, and ESC allows for superb drivability with the 2018 Lusso T Coupe. The latest iteration of the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T Coupe features a new control and integration logic with evolved 4RM systems. This allows for a more responsive rear-wheel steering during all weather conditions. The steering is very sharp and has bucket loads of feedback, precise to that last inch.

Just a flick of a switch on the steering wheel and the ride can be adapted for a bumpy road where it is quite comfortable. Put it in sport mode and you are rewarded with great drivability around corners. With the latest make, management of front torque is enhanced. Seating and Comfort

The interiors of the GTC4 Lusso has been designed tastefully and it's a very special place to be in. The cabin is crafted with hides of leather and carbon fibre trim and an 8.8-inch touchscreen takes center place on the dashboard. The AC vents look like thrusters from a jet engine and aesthetically eat up the upper corners of the infotainment screen, An analog tachometer sits between two digital screens in the instrument cluster. The steering wheel is typically Ferrari with all necessary controls on the wheel itself.

Ferrari has also pampered the passenger by providing an individual screen for the passenger for various vehicle and entertainment information. And guess what, this is a genuine four seater. Of course its a task getting past the front row of seats but once you are in there you'd genuinely appreciate the comfort you are treated with. The seats themselves are very well countoured and hold you very comfortably.

There are all sorts of great things about the interiors of the 2018 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T Coupe. First of all, the cabin is built in the particular way the cabin of a grand tourer needs to be. It is classy, functional and airy. Important interior feats of the ride include:

Exterior
8.0/10

The design of the GTC4 Lusso has divided opinions. Its not the most proportionate for a sports coupe and the car looks rather bland. The front has a very simple bumper and the air intakes in the bumper along with the signature Ferrari headlamps look as if the car is uncannily smiling at you. The side profile too is not the greatest with a long bonnet and a very short rear overhang. It has some relief from the air slits on the front fender.

It is at the rear of the car where it really starts to look like a serious machine with a large diffuser, quad exhausts and muscular rear haunches. Honestly, for such a sporty car, we would have liked some more visual drama.

Dimensions and Weight

Total curb weight of the 2018 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T Coupe is 4112 lbs. This is least among its class rivals. Bentley Continental GT V8 Coupe has the most curb weight of 5060 lbs. Length, width, and height flaunted by the Lusso T are 193.8, 78 and 54.5 inches, respectively. Continental GT V8 Coupe has the least length of 189.3 inches.

Competition

Bentley Continental GT V8 Coupe vs Ferrari GTC4Lusso T

Though not able to subdue the GTC4 Lusso T, Bentley Continental GT V8 Coupe proves to have the upper hand in some feats. Take the price-tag for instance. Pricing options for the GT V8 start from $201,225, which is about $59k less than that of the Lusso Ts opening bid. The ride packs a 4.0L V8 engine that delivers 500 hp of power in addition to a solid 487 lb.-ft. of torque. Its engine is coupled with a responsive 8-speed transmission mode.

Continental GT V8 takes 4.4 seconds to hit the 60 MPH mark. Remarkable it is, but not as that offered by the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T. Moreover, the GT V8 takes 13 seconds to cover a quarter-mile. It also has the most-in-league CO2 emission value of 9.3. GT V8 is a bulk ride with a total curb weight of 5060 lbs. Nonetheless, it offers better fuel economy of 19 mpg than that of the Lusso T. The coupe has a likeable ground clearance of 5.5 inches.

Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo vs Ferrari GTC4Lusso T

With a starting price tag of $154,000, Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo is one of the least expensive rides in the segment. The ride packs a 4.0L V8 engine, capable of delivering 550 hp and 567 lb.-ft. of power and torque, respectively. The engine is complemented by an 8-speed automatic transmission mode. 0-60 MPH acceleration time and quarter-mile distance time is 3.6 seconds and 11.6 seconds for the ride, respectively.

Total curb weight for the Turbo Sport Turismo is 4486 lbs. Therefore, it is heavier than that of the 2018 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T. Combined fuel economy delivered by the Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo is 20 mpg. Ground clearance and wheelbase flaunted by the Turbo Sport Turismo is 5.4 and 116.1 inches, respectively. The ride outshines the competition in terms of passenger capacity, which is 5. Moreover, it offers 18.3 cubic feet of cargo space.

Final Verdict
8.1/10

2018 Ferraro GTC4 Lusso T Coupe is for sure an intriguing ride to get your hands on. Just like other traditional Ferraries, this one features a hefty price tag. The lighter front end helps in improving the weight distribution by bringing the front/rear weight distribution ratio to 46/54. Although the carb does not look the best, it certainly has a sumptuous interior to match its class.

2018 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T no longer provides front-wheel drive assistance. Moreover, there is now less mass to steer with the adjusted lighter steering. All in all, driving the latest make of GTC4 Lusso T Coupe is a pleasure that any car lover would cherish. The ride can be deduced as a dynamic and defiant drive. If you could spare just so much for this Ferrari, you should. No regret for that.
