Overall Rating
The 2019 Audi Q8 might be new to the market, but it took its stand as a competitor amongst most of the other midsize SUVs and crossovers. Some of them include the Porsche Cayenne, the Maserati Levante, the Jaguar F-Pace, the BMW X6, and the Land Rover Range Rover Velar.
Audi has been on the innovative end of the spectrum with its tech-savvy vehicles. To keep up with the times, the German is coming with the all-new 2019 Audi Q8 SUV to answer the demands of the luxury SUV segment. Designed to impress on-lookers in just a glance, the proportions are majestic. It packs a punchy turbocharged V6 engine under the hood which isn’t shy of power.

Like most of the Audi's, the Q8 also has three standard trims i.e., the Premium, the Premium Plus, and the Prestige. Although all three trims come with the same 3.0 liter TFSI V6 engine, the features they provide are what make them different from each other, and that is the reason the prices also vary.
The Premium is the base trim priced at $67,400 and offers many standard features available on most of the Audi's. Whereas the Premium Plus trim which is priced at $71,400 gets a few upgraded features such as Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium sound system, Audi phone box, Audi advanced key—keyless start, stop, and entry with hands-free trunk release, etc.
The Prestige is the most expensive amongst the three trims which come at $76,550. It comes with almost all the features of the Premium Plus. But it also gets its upgrades such as Audi adaptive cruise assist, Audi active lane assist with an Emergency assist, Headlight washers, Power soft-closing doors, etc.

They equip the 2019 Audi Q8 with a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine which comes with a twin-scroll turbo and Audi's Valve shift system. With this engine as the power core, the Q8 boasts a power of 335 HP and a torque of 369 lb.ft. Also, the response from the engine feels quite smooth and refined.
It pairs this V6 engine up with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro AWD system. With this AWD system, the Q8 seems to attain optimum grip and stability on all terrains

The V6 might look quite less powerful compared to the Velar and the F-Pace because of the supercharged engine. However, when we look at the turbocharged six-cylinder engine competitors i.e., the Levante, X5, and the Cayenne, the Q8 seem powered on par with them.
The mighty V6 does its job well in propelling the Audi Q8 to attain a speed of 60 MPH in 5.6 seconds. With a heavyweight frame, such quick acceleration feels quite impressive.

When compared to the other SUVs with turbocharged V6 engines in the line, the Q8 is quite a quick accelerator. However, it falls behind when looked up at the BMW X5, which now comes with an inline-six engine with power on par with the Q8. The supercharged competitors sound a bit out of the league.
The Audi Q8 with its sports suspension and the Quattro AWD system feels quite confident around the corners. Its new driver assistance system is all set up to notify you about all your surroundings and thus keeps you and your co-commuters safe all the time.
However, one drawback that could be taken into account is its electromechanical progressive steering system, which takes away the feel of the coordination between the steering wheel and the wheels.
Audi equips the Q8 with ventilated disc brakes on both the front and the back. The front brake is 14.8 inches in size and the rear brake is 13.8 inches in the back.

Although the performance is not available, the Q8's brakes seem to be quite large when compared to the other competitors of the class.
Well, the 2019 Audi Q8 looks quite thirsty, it offers decent fuel efficiency regarding the heavy form factor and a powerful engine. It has a combined fuel economy of 19 MPG with 17 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway.

The Fuel economy of the Q8 seems quite low when compared to the competitors in the line. However, the Fuel Economy of the Cayenne and the Levante mentioned are based on the European standards.
The Interiors of the all-new are quite comfortable enough to make you stay behind the wheel for a long time. It provides decent headroom both in the front and rear despite the sloping roofline. There's ample legroom available for rear passengers, making it one of the best vehicles that can easily accommodate occupants taller than six feet.

The Q8, in terms of interior space, looks quite spacious when compared to that of the F-Pace S and the Range Rover Velar. However, the BMW X5 is comparatively more spacious than the Q8.Â

Let's have a look at all features it provides to entertain you:

Although the cargo cabin of the Q8 feels quite spacious, it is still less when compared to that of the F-Pace, the Velar, and the X5. However, it is more than that of the Cayenne and the Levante.
The 2019 Audi Q8 is a coupe-styled SUV that the Audi waited so long to launch amongst its fleet in the market. The body gets elegantly designed while looking quite extruding in size. The aggressive grille gives it an appeal that seems lacking in the Q7. Styled with a coupe-design, the SUV looks pleasing with a sloping roofline. Also, the detailing has been well attended to.

With such extruding dimensions and such heavyweight, the Audi Q8 stands as the one of its kind amongst the competitors such as the Cayenne, Levante, and the X5
The Q8 sports Audi's slick Virtual Cockpit is a host of various active safety features along with other features. These safety features help you be aware of what is going on in your surroundings and help in preventing any accidents to a very large extent. So let's have a look at what are these safety features:
The Audi Q8 is among the safest vehicles on the market. NHTSA rates the Q8 with perfect 5 stars overall, acknowledging the great build quality of the SUV. IIHS also rates it high and gives a “Good” rating, which is the highest rating given by the organization. We know Audi to be a dependable and reliable manufacturer in terms of safety because of the various safety features available in their vehicles.
Safety Features:
This is the third year for the Levante into the market. Although it stands as a barrier for the Q8 is taking its stance after debuting this year because of its power. The Q8 stands out to be a better performer. In most of the other aspects, it seems like they are giving each other a neck to neck competition. But when we look at the price, the Q8 makes a more interesting offer, thus becoming a preference.
Though the Porsche Cayenne has been in the market for a long time, with an all-new generation starting this year, the stakes of the market are high. However, the Q8 faces a similar Challenge with the Cayenne as it was with the Levante. However, the Cayenne has an upper hand here in terms of price as it is a little cheaper than the Q8. Still being a better performer adds up as an advantage.
The BMW X5 has been around in the market for quite some time and hence knows the game too well. With quite a similar power, the BMW stands out to be a better performer. It is as technologically sound as the Audi Q8, has a well built spacious interior, and is fully loaded up with various features. All this is available at a far more economical price. Thus, it looks like the X5 stands as one tough competitor for the Audi Q8 to take down.
The Audi introduced the Q8 for the first time after such a long gap. But the Audi has built it in such a way that it has taken down most of its rivals with its entry. It is quite technologically advanced, filled up with luxurious interiors and is quite a performer in the class. But still, it falls back due to the long-standing rivals which offer the same or in some cases a better option at a more economical price.
