Overall Rating
For 2019 GM has introduced a refreshed version of its popular sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. With a starting price of $70,590, the Grand Sport has a 6.2L V8 naturally aspirated motor delivering 460hp and 465lbs-ft of torque and offers more kit and performance enhancements than the previous model year.
The Chevy Corvette is arguably the most iconic American Sports car to have ever existed and with a production run spanning close to 6 decades,it is also one of the longest selling badges in the industry. The C6 Corvette was a leap in the right direction as this generation redeemed the Corvette in one key area, which was handling. With the popularity of the Z06 and ZR1, customers wanted a middle ground that offered more aggressive looks and performance than the base Stingray but was cheaper and more economical than the Z06, and GM's answer was the Grand Sport.
The Grand Sport 2LT hits the sweet spot with its V8 450 hp engine and excellent driving dynamics. It doesn't raise the price much from the standard variant and comes equipped with advanced safety features.

The Chevrolet Corvette is a great car and with a starting price less than rivals like Porsche Boxster and Jaguar F-Type, it also delivers good value in this class.
The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is available in both coupe and convertible body styles. They both feature a 460 hp V8 engine mated to a 7-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. In terms of features, the Grand Sport is similar to the Stingray but adds a host of performance features from the Zo6 like an upgraded cooling system, wider fenders and tires, magnetic ride control, upgraded suspension components, and bigger brakes.

The Grand Sport 2LT hits the sweet spot with its V8 450 hp engine and excellent driving dynamics. It doesn't raise the price much from the standard variant and comes equipped with advanced safety features.
The small-block V8 has been the heart of Corvettes since 1995, the normally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 generates 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The direct injection technology helps higher compression ratio and greater combustion efficiency. Variable Valve Timing optimizes camshaft timing to improve high-rpm horsepower and low-end torque. Race-inspired technologies like dry sump oil system and oil spray piston cooling help to keep the fluid levels in check during corners and manage heat levels on higher RPMs respectively.
A seven-speed manual transmission is standard while an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters is optional. Standard seven-speed comes with active rev-matching which optimizes smoothness and eliminates the need for heel and toe shifts. The optional eight-speed automatic offers precise shifts which compete for dual-clutch rivals. The electronically limited-slip differential helps in torque split to help maximize traction and acceleration out of corners.

The Chevrolet Grand Sport produces the highest number of horses and Jaguar F-Type takes the second spot with 365 hp. The Porsche stands last because of the lower displacement engine.
The Corvette Grand Sport comes with launch control which regulates ignition timing to limit wheel spin for optimized acceleration runs. Just mat the gas pedal and it unleashes from standstill to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.

The Chevrolet Grand Sport wins because of the obvious higher output. Porsche Boxster takes the second spot and Jaguar F-Type takes the last spot and decimates the 0 to 60 mark in 5.4 seconds.
The Corvette Grand Sport puts out 460 hp from its 6.2 liter V8 which is more than enough for most individuals. An active sports exhaust system with butterfly valves helps to increase horsepower and modulate sound levels. The 7-speed manual transmission comes with rev-matching while an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters is optional. Power is exclusively routed to the rear wheels and an electronic limited-slip differential enhances stability. The Grand Sport even with the soft top doesn't lose its rigidity and remains as sturdy as the Targa top coupe. It can be lowered remotely up to 30 mph.
The Grand Sport comes with five drive modes which are as follows:
The handling is very nimble and the car feels athletic. It offers an excellent amount of grip with a comfortable ride making it one of the most fun to drive cars.
The Corvette Grand Sport comes equipped with 6 piston front calipers and 370 mm slotted rotors. The rear features 4 piston calipers and 365 mm slotted rotors. They provide excellent stopping power in any situation and come to a sudden stop from 60 mph in just 95 feet.

The Corvette Grand Sport and Jaguar F-Type type have a similar curb weight but there is a huge difference in stopping prowess. The Grand Sport just takes 99 feet to stop which is incredible.
Looking at the Grand Sport, no one will think of fuel efficiency but it still manages to return good numbers. The Corvette Grand Sport with a manual transmission will return 16 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The eight-speed automatic transmission delivers 1 mpg less in the city while the combined economy remains unchanged. Every Corvette comes with Active Fuel Management which temporarily deactivates four cylinders for better fuel economy and seamlessly reactivates them when the driver demands an increase of power.

All of the rivals are similar in terms of interior space and there is not much of a difference. However, Porsche can be equipped with two seats in the rear which are only good for kids.
Chevrolet Mylink Infotainment System with Navigation and 8-in. The diagonal color touch-screen display is intuitive to use and one of the best in the segment.
Few cars can match the cargo capacity of the Grand Sport, the trunk is wide and flat and comes with 15 cubic feet of pace. The convertible variant provides 10 feet of cargo but that's still more than many competitors provide. The lift height is low and can easily accommodate most of your belongings.

The 2019 Corvette Grand Sport is truly inspired by its older generations, long hood, and low slung roof is a must. The exterior looks aggressive with bold cuts and creases. Wide fenders accommodate wider wheels and tires for a confident, aggressive stance. Fender vents have a signature side cove that includes the Grand Sport badge. The front grille is Z06-style painted in Satin Black. The Z06-style rear spoiler provides downforce to help keep Grand Sport planted to the track and quad exhaust tips in the middle finish the menacing look.
The Grand Sport Integrates sophisticated aerodynamic and cooling elements into the exterior while maintaining signature Corvette DNA. Grand Sport offers a special Heritage Package that includes fender hash marks, brushed-aluminum interior hash marks, and floor mats with a Grand Sport logo.

Corvette Grand Sport comes with best in class safety features. The Chassis has also been made using a copious amount of Aluminium and some Carbon Fiber Materials which helps reduce Crash Impacts and provide occupant protection and Safety. Some of the other features include:
Like the Grand Sport Coupe, the Porsche Boxster is a soft-top variant of the Porsche Cayman. It cost about the same as the Corvette and comes with superb driving dynamics. In terms of performance both of them stand out in the luxury sports car segment.
The suspension of Corvette is also compliant compared to the stiff adjustment in Boxster. Of the two, the Corvette is the better value for your money, since it comes with more standard amenities than the Cayman.
The Jaguar F-Type from Britain is also track oriented like the Corvette Grand Sport. Both of them provide powerful engines with agile handling. The cabin quality of the Jaguar is also a level up when compared to the Corvette.
The Chevy, on the other hand, has more trunk space, more amenities, and easy to use the infotainment system. The F-type is a good choice but the Corvette is a better choice in terms of overall performance.
Think of the Grand Sport as track-ready, just like the Zo6 but with less horsepower. Park this vehicle somewhere and the crowd will start snapping selfies with it. It is slightly softer to drive if compared with the coupe but still ferocious. This Chevrolet delivers outstanding performance and comes with a high-quality interior. The Grand Sport may not shine in some aspects but brings a lot to the table.
