After its Debut in 2018, the Land Rover Range Rover Velar stood as quite a performer amongst the other midsize luxury SUVs of its class. It was appreciated for the same and was considered a good option in the segment. The 2019 Range Rover Velar is as aggressive as its predecessor but is tuned to behave with manners.

We Recommend
We would suggest you go in for the P250 R-Dynamic SE. And that's really specced well. With a decent mix of style and equipment such as 20-inch wheels, leather seats, a 17-speaker Meridian audio system and power rear liftgate.
The R-Dynamic harbours a more powerful engine than the regular trim, a 3.0 Liter supercharged V6 engine which generates a horsepower of 380hp. Both the Velar S and the R-Dynamic SE trims are available with this powerful V6 engine. Moreover, both these engines are mated with an 8 Speed Automatic transmission and an All-Wheel-Drive drivetrain.

The base inline four cylinder 2.0 L engine of the Velar is quite powerful as it generates power at par with its competitors, such as the Volvo XC60, Porsche Macan and Jaguar F-Pace.
The turbocharged 2.0L four cylinder engine of the 2019 Range Rover Velar generates enough power to make this SUV speed up with ease. It is capable of accelerating to a speed of 60MPH in about 6.4 seconds. However, being a Sports vehicle the time taken by it might not be satisfactory to its audience, specially with its competition performing better.

All the cars in consideration are equipped with a 2.0L engine, yet their speeds vary due to several reasons. One of the vital factors that determines their speed are the curb weights. Velar being the heaviest of them all sent to be the slowest.
The 2019 Range Rover Velar might come across as aggressive at times but it is capable of handling steep curves with ease and confidence. This otherwise strenuous task is made possible with its standard adjustable suspension system. Although this Range Rover might not seem as sporty as its elder brother, the Range Rover Sport, it provides quite a comfortable ride.
Moreover, in addition to the four-wheel drive, the Velar is equipped with a low traction launch, hill launch assist, and hill descent control to keep the SUV fixed to the track on steep roads. In addition, you will find a Terrain response system that adjusts performance for a grippy ride due to the availability of various drive modes such as Eco, Comfort, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Ruts, Sand, and Dynamic.
One aspect of performance the previous Velar lacked was braking. We did hope that this year's model would have rectified the same. However it looks like the 2019 Range Rover Velar has also inherited this drawback. It comes equipped with the same brakes i.e. 12.8 inch disc brakes on the front and back as its predecessor and weighs almost the same as it did last year.

The Land Rover Range Rover Velar shares it's towing capacity with its cousin the Jaguar. Built under the same roof, both these machines have the capacity to tow 5290 pounds of load. The 2019 Range Rover Velar is quite capable of dragging quite a weight on its back. Going ahead, we have a comparison of the towing capacities at our disposal.

The British cousins are way ahead of their competition in this regard. Towing close to a thousand pounds more than their closest competitor, Porsche. They also mark the best in competition, together they grab first position for the same. Volvo finds itself at the lower ranks with the capacity to tow only 3500 pounds.
The inline 4- cylinder engine of the 2019 Range Rover Velar seems to be fairly thirsty. It provides an average of 23 miles to a gallon with a fuel economy of 21 miles to a gallon in the city and 27 miles to a gallon on the highway.

The 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is slightly behind it's competition in this segment. However, the difference is close to nothing. All these SUVs tend to guzzle a lot of fuel and the Velar is just one of them who is a little more thirsty.

The Velar has an interior space on par with most of its competitors. However, it looks like the Volvo XC60 is the most spacious in comparison. However, the margin between the Volvo and Land rover is that of a few cubic inches only.
The Velar comes with the exquisite Land Rovers Touch Control Pro, introduced when it debuted last year. This Infotainment replaces the previous out-dated entertainment system in the other land rovers this year. It comes with a dual-screen and a paired interface.
The touch control might be a bit of a glitch sometimes. Apart from that it also has the following infotainment features to keep you entertained during your drive:
Interior Features
There is a lot more on offer apart from the infotainment features, the2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar flaunts the following interior features as well:
The 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar fails in providing the most spacious passenger room but the story is different when it comes to its cargo room offering.
Up against its rivals such as Volvo, Jaguar and Porsche, the Velar seems to ace this segment with the best in class offering at least that is what we expect. It has a cargo volume of 34.4 cu.ft which can be increased to 70.1 cu.ft by folding the second seat. Given below are the details of the rivals offering:

Well the velar clearly has the most spacious cargo room on offer followed by the Volvo XC60 and the Jaguar F-Pace.
The 2019 Velar gets a sleek look which is also aggressive with its lights. Maintaining the look of a Legend, the Range Rover stands out distinctively amongst it's competition.
Moreover this 4217 lbs heavy SUV has a length of 188.9 inches, a width of 80 inches and a height of 65.6 inches, these dimensions as to its majestic stance.

Having the best in class dimensions for several aspects, the 2019 Velar stands out amongst its competition as a mighty beast.
Exterior Feature
The dimensional advantages apart, the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar comes with the following exterior features:
The 2019 Range Rover Velar has an entire range of features to keep you safe while driving. Features such as Emergency brake assist (EBS), a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rain-sensing windshield wipers come as standard features on the Velar. Some other Safety features that you would find inside the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar are:
The F-Pace has been in the market for quite some time now. It surely got the first movers advantage but now that Velar is here, both are on the run as they give each other a tough competition.
Both these machines come with equally powerful engines but it looks like the Velar turns out to be a better performer. Its interior space and cargo volume are also more spacious than the F-Pace. Even their towing capacities are similar. However one drawback is that the Velar is a bit more thirsty than the F-Pace. Overall, the Bekar justifies the extra it charges and is clearly a better option between the two.
This year, Porsche introduced its Flagship Model for its Second Generation of Macan. However, the new Macan isn't as powerful as its predecessor but it still is capable of running at par with the Velar and capable of giving better numbers than the Brit. Its new infotainment also looks quite advanced than that of Velars.
However it doesn't do justice to the space it offers, given that it's a full sized SUV. Hence, given the price and the offering, Velar seems like a better option. But if you are looking for something sporty, then Macan is your car.
The Volvo XC60 is going to complete a decade in the market soon. It is still a benchmark for midsize luxury SUVs. It has a bit more power packed into its engine than the Velar, and hence it delivers better performance. It also looks like a more fuel efficient option than Velar.
Its interiors are also quite ambient and are as spacious as the Velar. The only drawbacks of this Swedish automobile is that the towing capacity and the Cargo space offered could be better. But it being a more affordable option makes it a preferred option over the Velar.
2019 marks the second year for this marquee of the British car- Jaguar Land Rover Velar. This mighty vehicle has a commendable interior to offer but it falls short in the performance department. Moreover, the 2019 Velar is a Gas guzzler, giving the rivals an upper hand here as well. Having plenty of room for improvement we would recommend you to look into the rivals of the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar.
