The Lincoln MKC come with a 2.0-liter Turbocharged Inline 4 engine which puts out 245 horsepower. It is a very capable engine that is found on the entire level Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Complimenting the engine is a 6-speed automatic transmission that send power to the front wheel of the vehicle. 

The powerful engine of bunch comes in the Acura RDX which churns out 272 horsepower. The second in the ranks is the Volvo XC60 and rounding of the podium is the Lincoln. However, when it comes to real world performance the Acura and Lincoln are pretty neck and neck. 

Acceleration

As mentioned earlier the Lincoln manages to claw back performance when it comes to real world of performance. The Lincoln manages to do naught to 60 in 7.1 seconds. while the Acura even with the significant power advantage only manages a time of 6.6 seconds. 

However, the Volvo is the star of the show. It manages to do naught to 60 in 4.9 seconds. As for the quarter mile timing the Lincoln and the Acura are once again neck and neck. This time the gap only being a tenth of a second. 

Ride and Handling 

The initial steering feedback is pretty quick. However, the effort made by the steering looks natural on any kind of terrain. When pushed through a corner, the MKC leans and lacks the composure unlike the competitors.

As for comfort the Lincoln offers one of the best comforts in the segment. The suspension feels at home even on bumpy roads offering a good ride quality. The Lincoln may not conquer corners but it ride-comfort makes sure even gets a great experience. 

Braking and Handling

The MKC comes with 13.2-inch rotors at the frond and 12.4-inch rotor at the rear. This helps the MKC to halt from 60 mph in 119 feet, a strong showcase for the segment. The pedal feels a bit touchy initially, and some may feel it as softer part. 

The 2019 Lincoln MKC returns 20 mpg in city, 27 mpg in highway, and 23 mpg combined. The competitors offer better fuel economy. The Buick Envision 1SV returns 22 mpg in city and 29 mpg on the highway. The Volvo also returns a similar economy as the Buick making them the best in the segment. 

The Volvo also offers the best range in the segment. This is thanks to the largest fuel tank and the excellent fuel economy. Fuel economy is not the strong suit of the Lincoln. In Fact, it performs when it comes to frugality. 

Inside, the MKC is an ultimate luxury contender, with tastefully placed wood grain and brushed metal finishes all around. Wearing darker color palettes, the cabin's lines and window shapes make the interior quite attractive and inviting.

With a beautiful, simple dash and center console, the view from the front seats makes you feel stunned.

There's adequate front storage room ahead of the shifter integrated with security door. The front center armrest bin is really big. The door pockets offer humble space. The cargo area holds 25.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats or 53.1 cubic feet with the rear seatbacks folded (excluding cargo-area levers).

Infotainment

Another big point for the new Lincoln MKC is the Sync 3 infotainment system, which is user-friendly and gets smartphone integration systems.

Acura RDX is an amazing vehicle considering its score card in crash test. It also offers an attractive list of optional safety features, more cargo space in comparison to the Lincoln MKC. It also come with more leg room in the second row.

However, Acura suffers in case of performance and luxury. The SUV is priced $3,000 more than the MKC and comes powered with a V-6 engine which does not feel nimble around corners. The Lincoln, meanwhile, offers better luxury inside with good towing capacity.

Lincoln KMC Vs Buick Envision

Base engine to base engine, Lincoln's MKC manages to return more power and torque than Buick's Envision. Both are noiseless on the highway and deliver good drivability. Interior space is nearly similar, as is the amount of standard in-car tech, though the MKC is known for more plusher ride.

Lincoln MKC Vs Volvo XC60

The Volvo XC60 got redesigned in 2018 with major features uplift. Some of the improvement includes a responsive infotainment system, more legroom for the rear passengers, an efficient engine choice and best in class cargo capacity.

The XC60 is $6,000 costlier than the Lincoln MKC but it proves its worth completely. If you want to both performance and luxury, then the MKC is a good option.

The 2019 Lincoln MKC may not be class leader in many areas while others in the segment stand out for one reason or the other. The flaws in this Lincoln model include poor cargo space, cramped rear seats and below average fuel economy. However, it offers smooth and comfortable ride and responsive infotainment system. Interestingly, it is one of the lowest priced luxury SUV in the segment and considering its price we avoid asking for more. Buy this car if you have strict budget otherwise there are better options to consider.
