About 2020 Honda Civic

4.3

Overall Rating

The Honda Civic sedan remains the same spirit with 158 hp and 174 hp power surges alongside a fuel economy as high as 42 MPG for a base price of $19,750.

The 2020 Honda Civic comes unchanged with the same 158 hp and 174 hp I-4 engines for a starting price tag of $19,750, a marginal price surge of $200 from last year. That being said, its fuel economy of up to 42 MPG across its trim lineup of LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring is simply impressive in its own rights along with newly standardized Honda Sensing

Available in over 4 exterior colors along with the a trunk capacity of 15.1 cu-ft, the Honda Civic is one fine sedan to challenge the likes of the Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3, and Hyundai Elantra. Starting at a lease deal of $260 per month, for 35 months with $2999 due at signing, it will confront a huge customer base yet again. However, the same is not true for its siblings Honda Civic Si and Honda Civic Coupe as they enter their final production year.

The EX trim of the 2020 Honda Civic has got the perfect blend of comfort with heated front seats and power adjustment. Also, the 7.0-inch infotainment system on the inside and 18-inch wheels on the outside with comparable safety gears and 1.5T I-4 make the case for this trim as one has got to pay a little extra in the higher trims for the same stuffs.

Honda civic options

Pros

I love the way it handles curves, I love that there are tons of upgrade and aftermarket options to add on if I want too.

Cons

I don't like that it's only a 4 or 6 cylinder., I don't like the metallic color or cloth seats.

Pros

Pricing and Features
8.5/10

"The Honda Civic has long been one of the better compact cars." - Edmunds

The 2020 Honda Civic comes in 5 trims starting with LX configuration that costs $19,750. This edition features assets like Honda Sensing, 4-speaker audio, and 16 inches wheels inside the cabin. After that comes the Sport trim with a pricing of $21,450 and gets Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration along with 7-inch Display Audio Touchscreen as extras over the LX.

Taking the expense at $23,700, the EX trim of the 2021 Honda Civic brings in Heated Front Seats, 17 inches Alloy Wheels, and One-touch Power Moonroof. While, the EX-L relishes the leather-trimmed seats and HomeLink Remote System as its standard virtue. At $27,600 comes the Touring edition that further adds heated rear seats, Premium Audio, Navigation units exclusively.

Buying Advice

The EX trim of the 2020 Honda Civic has got the perfect blend of comfort with heated front seats and power adjustment. Also, the 7.0-inch infotainment system on the inside and 18-inch wheels on the outside with comparable safety gears and 1.5T I-4 make the case for this trim as one has got to pay a little extra in the higher trims for the same stuffs.

Engine and Performance
8.5/10

"The optional turbocharged 1.5-liter engine delivers quick performance and excellent fuel economy. You have to upgrade to at least the EX trim to get it, but it's worth the cost. " - Edmunds

The 2020 Honda Civic sprints with two engines, one between them is the 2.0L I-4 that pumps 158 hp along with 138 lb.-ft. of torque. It thumps only for the EX and Sport trim and is coupled either with a 6-speed manual or a CVT in the standard FWD layout.

The other one under the hood is the 1.5T I-4 powertrain churning 174 HP and 162 lb-ft torque for the rest of the lineup. But it is hooked up with the CVT only in the same FWD platform. In addition to all these, a Driver Selectable Mode of ECON, Normal and Sport has been integrated too for the Sport & Touring.

Capable of dashing from 0-60 MPH in 8.2 seconds with a top speed of 119 MPH, the Honda Civic is equally impressive on the quarter-mile drag with its 16.3 seconds timing. However, the ABS and Brake Assist work in tandem with the 11.1-inch and 10.2-inch disc brakes to limit it within 184 ft for 70-0 MPH.

"While it doesn't offer the most optional comfort-and-convenience equipment in the compact class, it has enough of the good stuff for any small-car shopper." - Car and Driver

"The sedan’s shape channels the Accord, other fastback sedans, and even some luxury sedans, with a sleek roofline." - TheCarConnection

With a coupe-Esque roofline, imposing grille, slim side profile, and a curvy yet elegant rear-end, the 2020 Honda Civic makes sure it gets noticed. Styled in 8 exterior colors such as Crystal Black Pearl, Cosmic Blue Metallic, Aegean Blue Metallic, Rallye Red, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Molten Lava Pearl, it radiates an exhilarating outlook overall.

The Honda Civic rides flawlessly on the 16-inch, 17-inch and 18-inch wheels depending on the trim level. However, they are those LED headlights that start to make distinction among as it favors specifically Touring trim only while the projector beam halogen comes as a commoner for all. Despite that variation, the Automatic Lighting stands incorporated for both halogen and LED lighting.

Final Verdict

The 2020 Honda Civic Sedan is undoubtedly a great car, one that idealizes the sync between performance, economy, and comfort. The base 2.0L I-4 engine is in typical Honda fashion a rev-happy motor, but go for the 1.5L turbocharged engine, and see the fun of driving elevate. The Honda Civic is an appealing package with multiple variants and lots of tech and features, capped with respectable utilitarian capabilities.
