Priced at an MSRP of $63,700, Audi A6 Premium Plus 55 TFSI trim is the one to get. It comes with the V6 engine, plush features like a heated steering wheel, upgraded infotainment system and the Bang & Olufsen 3D surround system. We recommend getting the Avalon Green color, Black Optics Sport Package, the Executive Package, and the rear-passenger side airbags.

The A6 has never been branded as an all-out performance sedan but has always delivered confident performance that satisfied the needs of most who drive them - Carbuzz

The 2021 Audi A6 comes with two engine options - 2.0L turbocharged I4 with a 12-volt MHEV system making 261 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, it makes 13 hp more than the 2020 model and, a 3.0L turbocharged V6 with a 48-volt MHEV making 335hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired to 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission with power going to the Quattro AWD system.

The Audi A6 does 0-60 in 5.8 seconds which is the same as the BMW 5 series and faster than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class but is slower than the Volvo S90. The A6 55 models (V6 engine) does the 0-60 sprint in 5.1 seconds, faster than the Volvo S60. The A6 45 will do the quarter-mile in 14.6 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph.

The 2021 Audi A6 comes with an EPA estimated gas mileage of 23 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway and a combined 26 mpg. This is more than than the combined mpg of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Volvo S90, both giving 25 mpg combined but less than the BMW 5-series. 

With the A6 55 models (V6 engine) the mpg figures drop by 1mpg in the city and combined and 2 mpg on the highway. Irrespective of the engine the Audi A6 gets a 19.3-gallon fuel tank which is the largest among the competition, this allowing it to have the most driving range as well

The interior of the 2021 Audi A6 comes with a seating capacity of 5 occupants. The front row seats are 8-way power-adjustable with 4-way power lumbar and have heating and memory functions. Seat ventilation and rear seat heating is offered as standard on the Prestige trim (MSRP - $69,500). Voice-activated dual-zone climate control with separate rear vents is standard, optional 4-zone climate control is available.

Interior upholstery is leather on all trims and available in multiple colors as well as wood interior trim. As options go, there is the luxury package on the Prestige trim which adds a massage function to the front seats, Valcona/Milano leather, and also passenger seat memory. The Audi A6 comes with a trunk capacity of 13.7 cu.ft. which is more than the Mercedes-Benz E Class, but less than the 5 Series and S90.

The 2021 Audi A6 comes with a dual-screen set-up featuring an 8.8-inch touchscreen with a new MMI interface with reconfigurable menus to suit your liking. There is an 8.6-inch touchscreen that runs car-based functions like air conditioning. The 8.8-inch touchscreen comes standard with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM 3 month trial Wi-fi hotspot, and a 10-speaker sound system.

There is also Audi's Virtual cockpit for the driver as well. The 2021 Audi A6 follows a traditional sedan styling that has been modernized with sharp lines. That said, the exterior does change depending on the engine. When equipped with the 45 models (2.0L engine) the front fascia features smaller air intakes, with the V6 the front fascia turns more aggressive with bigger air intakes with added exterior highlights. 

Apart from how aggressive the front fascia looks, the big grille adds to the character which comes in chrome or black depending on the trim, and the accents match accordingly. There are LED headlights and taillights, the Premium Plus and Prestige get Maxtrix LED headlights, and then come to the 19-inch wheels which can be upgraded to 20-inch wheels with the black optics package..

Dimensionally speaking, the Volvo S90 measures 200.1 inches which is 5.6-inches longer than the Audi A6 and is also longer in its wheelbase as well. However, the Audi A6 comes with the most ground clearance of 6.5-inches, but the remaining dimensions are similar to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series.

The 2021 Audi A6 has been given a 5-star safety rating, out of a possible 5-stars in the tests conducted by the NHTSA, for both the regular sedan and the sedan equipped with the optional side air bags (2021 A6 with SABs). 2021 Audi A6 vs 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class comes with less power and slightly slower in the 0-60 test as well, it even falls short against the A6 in fuel economy, driving range, and interior and trunk space. Even though the E-Class comes with many features and one of the best interiors in the automotive industry it is also pricier, making the A6 the better car.

2021 Audi A6 vs 2021 BMW 5-Series 

The BMW 5-series comes with lesser power but with the same performance as the Audi A6. The BMW 5-series also offers more trunk room, better mpg figures, but the A6 offers more driving range and marginally more interior space. The deciding factor is price and the BMW is $1,500 more than the 2021 A6, but is a good option as well.

2021 Audi A6 vs 2021 Volvo S90

The Volvo S90 makes more power and does offer better performance, but loses out when it comes to mpg and range. In terms of interior space, the S90 does offer more across both rows and in the trunk as well. The S90 is also cheaper by $3,350, making it the better option.
