About 2021 Audi e-tron electric

4.1

Overall Rating

Speaking of the competition, the 2021 Audi e-Tron electric SUV will go head to head against Jaguar I-Pace  AWD and the Tesla Model X AWD. Let's see what this car has to offer and how high of a standard does Audi set.

The 2021 Audi e-Tron is the German carmaker's first attempt at making EVs. Available for sale in the market two body styles- SUV and Sportback, prices for the e-Tron lineup start at an MSRP of $65,900 for the base SUV. For 2021, there is an improvement in range of an additional 18 miles giving a total of 222 miles on a full charge. The interior of the e-Tron is comfortable with power-adjustable seats with heating function and the latest of the MMI interface.

The Audi e-Tron comes with many safety and driver assistance features like lane departure warning and rear-cross traffic assist as standard even on the new base trim - Premium (MSRP - $69,500). Having said that, the all-electric SUV comes into direct competition with the Jaguar I-pace and the Mercedes-Benz EQC.

Priced at an MSRP of $65,900, the 2021 Audi E-tron Premium trim is the one we would go for and get the convenience package ($3,500) added to it. Additionally, you do get power-adjustable and heated seats, the latest MMI interface, and the same performance as the higher trims at a much more affordable rate.

Pricing and Features
7.0/10

"It's a right-sized machine that feels like a two-row version of the Audi Q7"  - Edmunds

The 2021 Audi e-Tron is offered in three trims - Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige with prices ranging from $65,900 to $79,100. All trims get the twin-asynchronous motor setup and the famous Quattro all-wheel-drive system which gives it one of the best driving dynamics in the automotive industry.

The Premium trim priced at $65,900 is the new base trim for the 2021 model year. It still comes with the same mechanical equipment as the other two trims and also comes with power-adjustable front seats with heating function and Audi's MMI system. There are options like towing package ($750) which allows the Audi e-tron to tow up to 4,000 pounds, rear passenger side airbags ($400), and a black cloth headliner (at no additional charge).

2021 Audi e-Tron Vs. 2021 Jaguar I-PACE

The Jaguar I-Pace beats the Audi in almost every respect except the interior space. This might be the electric SUV, which gets overshadowed in the comparison mainly because it lacks road presence, which makes its rivals unique Also, the 80 MPGe in the city on the Jaguar is the top of its class.

2021 Audi e-tron vs. 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQC

The Mercedes-Benz EQC comes with a lot of luxury on the inside, but when compared to the Audi e-tron, the Mercedes-Benz EQC is more powerful and offers better performance and range. The only place where the Audi e-tron is better is cargo space, making us favor the EQC.

Final Verdict

The Audi e-tron is lavish inside and extremely hushed. It's more practical and slightly more affordable than its direct rivals, and does a great job of soaking up bumps. While its range may not be as good as some of its competitors, at more than 200 miles, it’s sufficient for most drives. However, we would prefer its rivals the Jaguar I-pace and Mercedes-Benz EQC.
