The 2021 Audi S6 is powered by a 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 that's assisted by a 48-volt hybrid system to power an electric supercharger for additional boost. The combined output from this mill is an impressive 444 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that powers all 4 wheels of this sedan as the S6 gets Audi's Quattro AWD drivetrain as standard. 

To describe the driving dynamics of the 2021 S6, the words sublime and ethereal are perfect. According to the EPA, the 2021 Audi S6 returns 18 MPG in the city, 28 MPG on the highway, and 22 MPG combined. Considering the fact that it is a sports sedan and also gets an AWD drivetrain, the MPG figures are well justified for its price. 

The 2021 S6 gets a fuel tank capacity of 19.3 gallons which lends it a combined driving range of 424 miles. Comparatively, the S6 delivers the second-best highway range in this competition after the Mercedes-AMG E 53.  So there's no need to halt at the fueling station regularly while cruising on highways.

Owing to its large fuel tank, the Mercedes-AMG E 53 has the best city and highway figures here followed by the S6. With a combined mileage of 20 MPG, the BMW M550i finds its place in the third spot while the Maserati Ghibli S's MPG figures are a bit less considering its large fuel tank.

The interior of the 2021 Audi S6 is a typical Audi. Meanwhile, the Maserati Ghibli S turns out to be the most practical sports sedan in this competition. The 2021 S6 gets a dual-screen setup with the main screen measuring 10.1 inches and the lower screen measures 8.6 inches. Behind the steering wheel, there's another screen known as Audi Virtual Cockpit that measures 12.3 inches in size.

2021 Audi S6 vs 2021 BMW M550i

Priced at $76,800, the BMW M550i houses a V8 engine that produces 79 hp more than the Audi S6. Therefore, its acceleration is no match for the S6. Owing to its large fuel tank, the S6 has better MPG figures. The rear-seat passenger space in the M550i is slightly less than the S6 but its practicality is worth mentioning. Speaking of safety, the M550i adds better standard safety features.

2021 Audi S6 vs 2021 Mercedes-AMG E 53 Sedan

With a starting price of $73,900, the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Sedan is slightly cheaper than the S6. Despite packing an underpowered engine, the AMG E 53 gives a tough fight to the S6 in terms of performance. Furthermore, its fuel ratings are also good thanks to its large fuel tank. On the inside, the headroom is slightly less on the AMG E 53 but has a similar cargo capacity as the S6. On the safety front, the S6 stays ahead with better safety features. 

2021 Audi S6 vs 2021 Maserati Ghibli S

The Maserati Ghibli S is the most expensive car in this competition and has a price difference of at least $5,000. However, its V6 engine makes less power, and hence, its performance numbers are slower than the S6. Also, its fuel economy is on the lower side. Speaking of the interior, the Ghibli S's legroom is really less in both rows but earns praises for its cargo capacity. Also, its safety features list is less compared to the S6.

The 2021 Audi S6 is a very capable car and is quite popular in the segment. Though It does face stern competition from the likes of the BMW M550i, it does have its own strengths and many people believe that buying an Audi is a safer bet.
