The Lexus has a close shave with the Bimmer and Genesis G90 stresses a bit less on the performance front, but doesn't fall back much. The new 7-series has got hold of exceptional ride and handling abilities.
With the addition of the xDrive system and adaptive air suspension, the ride quality of this luxury Bimmer has improved well. With an athletic steering and clever suspension setup, BMW makes sure that you and your chauffeur enjoy his driving to the fullest.
Braking has got an equal if not more important than the performance and acceleration abilities of the new 7-Series. It is equipped with disc brakes all-round with composite front rotors that can stop this luxury sedan from 60-0 MPH in under 112 ft., which is quite impressive keeping in mind the curbs of this Bimmer.
BMW has taken the conservative route and has managed to provide the new 7-Series with sustainable MPG figures. The 2021 BMW 7-Series impressive us with 20 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway.
Couple its wholesome MPG figures with the sizable 20.6-gallon fuel tank, you can be cocooned in its luxury for longer durations without a gas stop. These figures are of the base 3.0L turbocharged Inline-6 motor and it will tend to be even better in the newly introduced BMW 745e xDrive that combines an electric motor rated at 111 hp.

The Lexus LS 500 is the only other sedan in this bunch that offers qualitative efficiency figures as the 7-Series. But it has an edge over the Bimmer because of its slightly larger fuel tank which helps it go the farthest. Stricter emission norms will surely put a tight knot on the likes of Genesis G90 and the Panamera.

BMW didn't have to compromise in terms of cargo capacity despite lavishly laying out the seating. This is because of its longer wheelbase that also helps in a more planted driving experience. It gets a fairly large trunk with 18.2 cu.-ft. of usable volume. The dashboard is well laid out with loads of soft-touch materials and aluminum trimming.
Various interesting cabin features of the 2021 BMW 7-Series are as follows:
The latest infotainment range and connectivity options make the new BMW 7-Series quite engaging. The dashboard is well organized, glazing with a 10.25-inch touchscreen interface, steering mounted controls for easy accessibility, and a premium 15-speaker audio setup by Harman Kardon.
The new iDrive 7 system seamlessly connects the infotainment screen and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster to create a plausible ecosystem that functions as an integral part of the core system by voice, touchscreen inputs. The iDrive touchpad controller works just like a laptop touchpad. Various infotainment features on offer are:
Smart cabin layout and a longer wheelbase have helped the new BMW 7-Series have the largest cargo compartment of this bunch. The closest competitor is Lexus LS 500 but it loses out both on cargo volume as well as seating. Both Genesis G90 and the Porsche tend to share a lot of common ground with marginally different cargo volumes.
This behemoth looks great from all angles and demands attention when cruising down the road- Carbuzz
BMWs are known for their iconic kidney grilles. It's heartening to see that BMW didn't take any drastic measures with the 2021 7-Series like the new 2021 4 Series. But it gets a daily upsized kidney-grille layout that goes well with the size of this luxury sedan. The newly updated design tweaks the front and rear fascia gives it a bit more aggression as compared to the previous generation 7-Series.
You can differentiate between the 740i and 750i models, from their different wheel designs and of course the badging at the rear! The wheels are 18-inches and come wrapped in all-season tires. The 2021 7-Series is treated generously with chrome accents in the exterior and a lot of it on the kidney grilles. The front bumper gets an edgy update and its LED projector headlamps complement the new aggressive outlook.

The new 7-Series is the longest of this bunch both in wheelbase and length. This helps in the cabin layout which BMW has utilized well. The 7-Series is also the lightest offering in this bunch and that is a rare sight among fully-fledged luxury sedans. Various notable exterior features of the 2021 7-Series are:
Packed with a wide range of passive safety systems and Driver Assistance features, the 7-Series stands out in its segment in terms of safety and reliability. Safety has always been a strong point for the 7-Series
As the 2021 BMW 7-Series has been structurally carried over from the 2020 model, it will carry forth all of the safety benefits, already available and much more. Some of the impressive safety features in the 2021 BMW 7-Series are:
The interior of the Lexus LS 500 is crafted with genteel materials and sophisticated tech features. On the other hand, the BMW 7-Series has a more balanced layout of luxury, comfort and performance. If we take all of these into consideration, then the Bimmer triumphs over the Lexus for its more balanced offering, despite being on the pricier side.
With similar performance numbers and interior features, both cars face strong competition. It comes down to the styling cues and thanks to the still sanely designed kidney grilles, the BMW 7-Series looks much more compelling than the Genesis G90. The front grille on the Genesis requires a bold bunch of audiences which is hard to come by. The Bimmer makes more sense and is better suited to the "luxury" field of the two.
If you are looking to experience an all-in-one package of performance and ultra-luxury, the 2021 BMW 7-Series will be an apt choice. Available in five different trims with varying engine options and abundance of standard features, the 7-Series can be claimed as one of the best luxury sedans available in the market. Also, you get additional safety assurance with a range of passive safety systems and Driver Assistance features.
The Lexus LS 500 might have more performance, the Genesis G90 might be bold and the Porsche me be the most athletic, but the 2021 BMW 7-Series incorporates all of this and provides you with the best of all these worlds. This makes it a well-rounded luxury offering, despite being priced on the higher side.
