The M240i can be configured with an RWD or an AWD system which costs $2000 over the base price. The 2021 M240i Coupe also sees some needed improvement for 2021. For starters, AppleCarplay, SiriusXM, speed limit information, remote services, and real-time traffic info has been made available as standard features.

The most obvious update for 2021 is the price hike of $550. The Luxury Line package and the Track Handling package has been removed. The Premium package which was a $2,500 option is now available for $1,600.

The M240i is the company’s sole offering here. However, it compiles some of the best features in its standard equipment list. Though you get an option to choose between an RWD and an AWD setup, we’d recommend you go for the former, since it provides you with a more engaging drive.

The BMW M240i boasts a 3.0L turbocharged Inline 6 engine putting out 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission. Together, the whole drivetrain offers a more dynamic experience that the rivals find hard to match.

The 2021 Audi S3 remains the least powerful here while the Cadillac CT4-V is the slowest to complete the 0-60 mph sprint. The BMW M240i zips from 0-60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds while covering the quarter-mile distance in just 12.7 seconds. The turbocharged 3.0L, inline-6 gives a taste of dust to all other rides of this segment. The BMW M240i manages to put out impressive figures despite being an RWD Coupe.

The M240i incorporates an M-tuned braking setup that takes a splendidly quick 103ft. to grind to a halt from 60 mph. Adorned with M-tuned 13.4-inch rotors at the front, and 13.6-inch towards the rear, the M240i pulls off a far better halting performance than all its rivals. That said, we were really impressed with the Cadillac CT4-V's braking performance as well.

The M240i maintains a friendly relation with your monthly fuel budget. The M240i gives decent fuel-economy figures of 21 MPG in the city, 30 MPG on the highway, accounting for a combined MPG stat of 24. Better fuel economy is achieved by incorporating advanced engine management and a low drag design.

The M240i posts some impressive MPG figures yet falls behind the Audi S3 and Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA 35 both of which have a combined 25 mpg. However, considering the fact that the BMW M240i's got the biggest and the most powerful motor under the hood than that of the competitors, these extra miles should not pinch that much.

The interior of the M240i remains unchanged for 2021. The front seats are impressive, with ample headroom and legroom, sufficient for taller occupants as well. However, the rear seats lack both space and practicality, deeming them unfit and cramped for adults.  Interior comes in two color options: Jet Black and Alpine White, and the seats are stitched in red and covered in leather upholstery 

The 2021 BMW M240i gets an 8.8” inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Sat Nav, Apple CarPlay, and voice controls. The infotainment screen comes with the BMW’s iDrive- system, with 7-speaker Harman Kardon, surround sound system, and a 205W amplifier, SiriusXM, with satellite radio. The 10.5” inch fully digital instrument cluster comes with the BMW’s Live cockpit professional and a customizable head-up display.

The M240i strives to create an ideal mix of simple aesthetics and a sporty aerodynamic body. The 2021 BMW M240i features larger 18-inch M double-spoke jet black wheels and the M Sport aerodynamic kit as standard. LED headlights and taillights are also standard for both the trims of the M240i. 

The Cadillac CT4-V is the heaviest of the bunch at 3616 lbs while the Audi S3 is the lightest. The M240i has a wheelbase of 175.9" which is shorter than the Mercedes-AMG CLA35 and the Cadillac CT4-V. Some of the exterior features of the 2021 BMW M240i are:

The 2021 BMW M240i Coupe hasn’t been tested by the NHTSA. With the M240i sharing the same platform we can expect similar results.

2021 BMW M240i Vs 2021 Audi S3

The Audi S3 can't match the BMW M240i in terms of power but makes up for it with a sleek design and more standard equipment. The Audi S3 is also priced slightly lower than the BMW M240i. While the base model of the M240i comes with only RWD, the S3 comes with AWD as standard. It's a tough choice between the two, but the BMW M240i is the better choice because of the amount of power on tap.   

2021 BMW M240i Vs 2021 Mercedes-AMG CLA 35

Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 comes at a higher price than the BMW M240i but comes with AWD as standard where the AWD is optional in the M240i for an extra $2,000. In terms of power, the 2.0-L Turbo Inline-4 can't keep up with the 3.0L Turbocharged Inline-6 in the M240i. One advantage is the better mpg figures for the CLA 35 which is very minimal comparing the difference in performance. In terms of comfort, both the cars have a spacious front row but the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 has more space in the back.

2021 BMW M240i Vs 2021 Cadillac CT4-V

The Cadillac CT4-V gets closest to the power that the BMW M240i offers but falling short by 10 hp. The BMW M240i offers a more premium cabin with more standard features when compared to the Cadillac CT4-V. The BMW also offers more standard safety features and driver assistance which makes it a better choice compared to the Cadillac CT4-V.
