Overall Rating
Corvette is a name that is not something new to people across the states. Ask a car enthusiast which car is their favorite sports car, and the Corvette will surely be one among them. This car has made its name very synonymous with being one of the baddest cats in the arena and churning out killer performance figures that can cause even the best of cars to break a sweat.
Following a thorough refresh for its eighth generation in 2020, the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray remains mostly unchanged. Let alone some minor feature updates. All 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray models get Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay alongside new options for the instrument panel. A new Buckle-to-Drive feature now prevents the gearbox to shift until you buckle the seat belt, thus increasing the safety of the car. You can now also bundle the 2021 Sting Ray with the optional magnetorheological dampers without necessarily purchasing the Z51 Performance Package. If that's not enough there is an all-new Full-Length Dual Racing Stripe package.
Â
So how much does a 2021 Corvette cost? Accrediting all these upgrades, the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray's price has seen a hike of $1000 as compared to the price of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. Split into 3 trims, the prices of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette start from $60,995 for the base 1LT trim and ranges up to $72,495 for the range-topping 3LT variant MSRP. This is excluding a $1,095 destination fee which the Corvette invites. For leasing, consider a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette to cost you around $749 per month for 42 months, with $9,999 rounded off at the time of signing.
We suggest picking up the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette with the 3LT trim. Although the 3LT seeks a pay an additional 10 grand over the standard 1LT, you get a lot more added to the package. In fact, if you're buying a C8 then why get the 1LT when you can have all the goodies that Corvette offers in the 3LT. At the end of the day, it's all about making a statement. Why not make a solid one then?

The mid-engine Corvette C8 Stingray is available in the usual Corvette trim levels which include the 1LT, 2LT, and 3 LT. The base 1LT is priced at $59,995 while 2LT costs $67,295 and 3LT costs $71,945. Chevrolet is also offering 5 different packages for the Stingray C8 Coupe which can add features such as carbon fiber elements and performance specs to the sports machine.
The Corvette comes with all the bells and whistles that deem a supercar worthy. Although the Corvette offers a bargain amongst all the other supercars out there, it's still not the very best you can have. For starters, a lot of the features come in as a paid option over the standard car and the 3 LT costs 10 grand more but is a lot more sense if you look at it in terms of money.

Going out and getting the 3LT seems sensible, you pay a premium of 10 grand over the standard 1LT but you get a lot more added to the package. At the end of the day it's all about making a statement, then why cheap put on that.
"Even in base form, however, the new Corvette is capable of heroic handling and delivers big thrills on both road and track." - Car and Driver
The 2021 Chevy Corvette comes with a 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 engine. This a common unit across a range of GM products. This unit in the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray cranks out 490 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. Add the optional Z51 package and the output figures climb to 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Corvette's Z51 package also gets you additional equipment such as an electronic limited-slip rear differential, more aggressive brakes, and summer tires.
The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The transmission can be controlled either by a push-button gear selector on the center console or by using steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles. All the grunt is routed to the rear wheels of the Stingray. AWD is not offered even as an option.

Surprisingly the C8 corvette is one of the fastest accelerating cars let alone being the fastest Corvette to date. The 2021 C8 Corvette sprints from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds! That’s unheard of in the land of Corvettes. Banter aside, the C8 is in fact the best Corvette ever made. It has the best handling of any Corvettes and gets a move on even though it’s not as powerful as the C7 Z06. Flat out, the 2021 Corvette Stingray has a claimed top speed of 184 mph. The C8 corvette gets 13.6 inch and 12.6-inch rotors at the front and rear respectively.
Speaking of rivals, the Audi R8's humongous 532 hp 5.2L V10 engine rules the charts in terms of brute power. The Corvette slots in the second spot, while the Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe's specs come out as the least impressive in this comparison. On the acceleration front, the Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe's 0-60 time is decent, while the R8 is the slowest in the initial run. Although the 2021 Audi R8's top speed finds no worthy rival.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray's performance is absolutely blazing but that does not make it a fuel-guzzler. The Chevy Corvette can roll for 18 miles in the city or can cruise through 26 miles on the highway for every gallon of gasoline. Sum up these figures and the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is good for a combined 22 mpg which is decent enough for a car that blasts from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe's fuel tank capacity of 18.5 gallons is decent enough to lend it a range of over 400 miles in mixed driving conditions. On the highway, the Corvette C8 can go for about 500 miles before needing a refuel halt.

The Corvette Stingray posts the most handsome fuel economy stats in this comparison. The Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe isn't far behind either with 20 mpg combined. However, the Porsche is also less powerful than the Chevy. Meanwhile, the Audi R8's mpg figures are pretty concerning, owing to that monstrous naturally aspirated V10 mill.

"Maybe just as striking as the exterior design, the Corvette's interior is certainly eye-catching." - Edmunds
The interiors of the 2021 C8 Corvette is functional but does not deem worthy of a supercar’s interior. Although for a base price of $60,000, the C8 has some decent equipment lying around. The steering is a nice and sporty flat-bottom wheel, you sit low and since the engine is outback, there is plenty of outward visibility. The Corvette Stingray's cabin is extremely driver-focused with a tall console that houses the climate-control switches separating the driver and the co-passenger. Furthermore, the infotainment screen is also tilted towards the driver.Â
The fit and finish of the cabin are top-notch and you can find surfaces covered in materials such as leather, real metal, and imitation suede. Well if that's not enough, upgrading to the 3LT trim even gets you carbon-fiber inserts. The specially designed bucket seats are supportive and aptly bolstered to hold you in place without really feeling confining. Although there is plenty of space for both the occupants, the passenger might feel a bit left out due to the cockpit's design. Speaking of storage, the Corvette C8 offers two trunk areas, one in the front and one in the back, which offer a combined 13 cubic feet of cargo space.Â

The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen display running the Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 Plus system. The graphics are vivid and easily readable even on the brightest of days. The infotainment screen is slightly tilted towards the driver which makes it easier to operate.
For 2021, all models get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. The lower trims get a Bose Premium 10-speaker system while upgrading to the 3LT variant gets you Bose Performance Series 14-speaker audio system. Some of the most prominent interior and infotainment features of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray are:

"The kinks and creases as well as the short nose could be derived from a European supercar a la Ferrari." - TheCarConnection
The C8 Corvette has a new style compared to the C7 it replaces. Mainly due to the fact that the new one is a proper sports car. The C8 although looks different from the front-engined C7, carries forward a lot of the signature Corvette styling. The C8 retains the split tail lights, the difference being the C7 having two round circles instead of the squared-off ones on the C8. Following the lines, the V marks the front displays endurance while a set of sturdy lines make up the side profile.
With styling that follows functions, the Corvette C8 posts a lasting impression. The extra intake vents located on the B pillar of this Vette lend it a look that aligns it in the league of supercars. On the rear end, the glass mirror engine cover gives you a sneak peek at this beast's heart. Meanwhile, the bright LED tail lamps, dual twin exhaust pipes and a well-designed lip spoiler complete the look for the 2021 Corvette Stingray.

When compared against the rivals, the Corvette Stingray's dimensions make it the bulkiest, and the lengthiest offering. The Corvette C8 is about 5 inches longer and 2 inches wider than the previous-gen Corvette C7. While the standard spec is intriguing enough, Chevrolet offers a number of customization options such as different wheel designs, Red/yellow-painted brake calipers, hood decals, side decals, carbon fiber inserts, etc.
There are also various packages on offer to enhance the look of your Vette such as the Engine Appearance Package ($995) that illuminates the engine compartment with LED lights. Or the Stingray R Appearance Package ($695) that adds highlights such as Corvette Racing-themed graphics and Stingray R logo wheel caps. Some of the most notable exterior features of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray are:

Being a new model, the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8 has not yet been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Hence, a comment cannot be made as of now about how safe is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8.
Speaking of safety features, well Chevy charges you extra for most of the driver-assist highlights, and the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray's standard safety feature list isn't that long. The base LT1 trim does not get any standard driver-assistance features. Here are a few notable 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8’s safety features:

The 911 has always been one of the best cars in the automotive fraternity. It was never about power figures or outright acceleration but the Porsche 911 Carrera S has a genuinely good blend between a sports car and a daily commuter. Last year saw the introduction of the new 992 generation which brings in noticeable design changes in both exterior and interior along with better performance. Even though 911s have outgrown themselves literally, some say it has lost what the 911 used to represent. A small and nimble sports car.
Audi R8 has been one of the most successful models Audi has had in the past decade. One of the best all-around cars that originally intended to take on the 911 has slowly evolved into the supercar league. With the Corvette, we think the R8 stands no chance since the C8 is much more modern and above all, a lot cheaper. So sacrificing all that just to buy an R8 makes sense given that it's always a personal choice. At the end of the day, it's money that matters and the C8 is a bargain at that.
The Corvette C8 stingray is no doubt one of the best sports cars available on the market. It is a supercar for sportscar money, that’s how you’d define the C8. With blistering performance, impressive handling and advanced chassis dynamics, Chevrolet has put a lot of thought and effort in making the C8 what it is. If anything the C8 is the bargain when it comes to affordable supercars.
