With no major changes happing to the exterior design, it still offers the same 15" alloy wheels wrapped in P185/55R15 all-season tires, integrated spoiler, chrome garnishes, and many more. However, new exterior colors are offered for this 2021 model.

The 2021 Chevrolet Spark also comes unchanged in the interior front, retaining the same jet back interior color and design along with all the features like a 7" touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system, air conditioning system, heated seats, leatherette upholstery, and many more. The 2021 Chevrolet Spark, which is available for sale at a base MSRP of $14,595, comes with the same 1.4L naturally aspirated inline-4 motor producing 98 hp and 94 lb-ft of torque, which did the duty in the outgoing 2020 model. This motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission, with the latter being about $900 more expensive. The car also comes mated to the FWD drivetrain layout and no optional AWD is offered.

The 2021 Chevrolet Spark is a perfect city car, due to the light steering setup and easy-to-drive driving experience. The suspension is quite soft, which helps to absorb all the irregularities on the road with ease, especially during slow city speeds. However, as the speeds rise during highway riding, the car feels unstable and offers high vertical movement. The 2021 Spark is also not a dynamically sorted hatchback and hence is not going to thrill the drivers with impeccable handling, especially around the corners. High body roll and a lot of understeers are part of the package as well.

With a puny 98 hp naturally aspirated inline-4 motor under the hood, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark managed to do the 0-60 mph in 10.7 seconds and quarter-mile in 18 seconds. It can also achieve a top speed of 98 MPH, making it the worst of the lot. With 9.3" front rotors and 7.9" rear rotors, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark, which is available for a base MSRP of $14,595, also manages to do the braking quite effectively. However, the 60-0 mph braking distance hasn't been measured yet.

The 2021 Chevrolet Spark came to second place in terms of performance numbers, with the 2021 Kia Rio Hatchback getting the crown, due to it offering 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque. The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage offered the lowest performance figures of the lot, putting out 78 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque. The 2021 Chevrolet Spark turned out to be the least fuel-efficient offering of the segment and the 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage, with its puny inline-3 motor, offered the best in class combined gas mileage of 39 MPG. The 2021 Kia Rio Hatchback's 36 MPG of combined gas mileage is also better than that of the 2021 Spark. It also turned out to be the best of the lot in terms of tank range, due to the 11.9-gallon fuel tank capacity.

Retaining the same jet black interior color along with a decent list of features including heated seats, leatherette upholstery, optional sunroof, steering mounted controls, and leather-wrapped steering wheel, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark, which is available for sale at a base MSRP of $14,595, is a decent option in terms of features. When it comes to the front row space, even though the legroom and shoulder room is slightly lower than the rivals, it will not be a deal-breaker as it feels quite adequate for the segment. 

When it comes to the rear row, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark offered a mediocre legroom and shoulder room, which would make it quite uncomfortable for most Americans. Even the headroom of 37" is also the worst of the segment. When it comes to the cargo capacity, the 2021 Sparks 11 cu ft makes it less versatile than all the rivals from the same segment. Overall we found the cabin of the 2021 Chevrolet Spark quite uncomfortable for anything more than a small city commute. Terrible under-thigh support of the seats along with mediocre side bolstering will also be deal-breakers.

The 2021 Kia Rio Hatchback offered much better interior space for both the front and rear row passengers. It also beats the 2021 Mirage on most fronts in terms of interior space too. We also found the 2021 Mirage to be much superior in space in comparison to the 2021 Spark. Both the 2021 Kia Rio Hatchback and the 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage also offered a superior 17.4 cu ft and 17.1 cu ft of cargo capacity as well. When it comes to the entertainment on offer, the 2021 Spark comes with a 7" touchscreen infotainment system and a 6-speaker audio system for the higher trims, and a 4-speaker audio system for the lower trims.

The 2021 Chevrolet Spark's infotainment system is the saving grace of this cabin. It is easily the best infotainment of the segment and offers a lot of connectivity features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, USB, Aux, and many more as standard. The interface is also very easy to use with no lags and stutters. The display quality and touch sensitivity are perfect as well. Even though this 2021 iteration receives no changes to the design front, apart from the inclusion of a few more premium colors to the list, the front fascia of this hatchback does retain the same ethos of the outgoing model, with the inclusion of the automatic halogen headlight with LED DRLs, blacked-out grille and air dam with chrome bezel, front foglights, and the protruding hood design. All of these add to the character of a small subcompact hatchback that is sold for an MSRP of just $14,595.

The side view of the 2021 Chevrolet Spark also stands out from most of the bland-looking subcompact hatchbacks, mainly due to the multiple character lines, decently large 15" alloy wheels wrapped in P185/55R15 all-season tires, and backed out pillars. The rear view of the 2021 Spark looks the quirkiest with the design cues neatly integrated into the bumper along with a roof spoiler, both of which add to its cheeky design language. With a ground clearance of 6.7", the 2021 Chevrolet Spark is also quite a versatile hatchback as it can go through the broken roads without scraping the underbody.

However, the height is slightly better than the 2021 Kia Rio Hatchback, which is about 1.3" is lesser.
