The 2021 Honda Insight is available in three trims - LX, EX, and Touring, with prices starting at an MSRP of 23,130. Powering all three trims is a 1.5L inline-4 engine with a pair of electric motors sending all the power to the front wheels and Honda's Sensing suite comes standard. 

Honda does offer many packages like an all-season protection package, illumination package, protection package, sport black styling package, and a few more. Along with this, there are accessories like door protector panels, trunk mats, cargo hooks, parking sensors, door edge guards, wheel locks, and many more.

With a good blend of comfort and tech, the EX trim priced at an MSRP of $25,010, of the 2021 Honda Insight is the one to get. It comes with a more attractive interior ivory fabric seat trim, the 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 8-speaker sound system, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, the larger variety of exterior color options, and the new addition of Blind Spot information system with the rear-cross traffic monitor

The Insight does a better job than most hybrids of balancing spry acceleration with miserly fuel economy - Car And Driver

The 2021 Honda Insight is powered by a 1.5L inline-4 which is coupled with a pair of electric motors to give a combined 151 hp and 189 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid engine is coupled with an eCVT (electronic continuously variable transmission) which directs all the power to the front wheels.

The Honda Insight does the 0-60 sprint with a time of 7.7-seconds which is faster than the Hyundai Ioniq hybrid and the Toyota Prius Hybrid. The Insight does the standing quarter-mile in 16.2-seconds, again faster than the competition, and with the throttle floored will achieve a top speed of 125 mph.

The Honda Insight makes most power of 151 hp and 189 lb-ft of torque, following this is the 2021 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid which makes 139 hp, and then comes the Toyota Prius which makes 121 hp. However, the most amount of torque is made by the Ioniq of 195 lb-ft of torque.

The 2021 Honda Insight gives EPA estimated fuel economy figures of 55 mpg in the city, 49 mpg on the highway, and 52 mpg combined. This is 7 mpg lesser combined than the Hyundai Ioniq hybrid and 4 mpg lesser than the combined of the Toyota Prius.

The 2021 Honda Insight Touring trim gives an EPA estimated fuel economy figures of 51/45/48 in the city/highway/combined respectively. All insight trims are equipped with a 10.6-gallon gas tank which is smaller than the Ioniq's and the Prius's fuel tank and this leads to the Insight offering a lesser range.

The interior of the Honda Insight comes with a seating capacity of 5 occupants. The LX and EX trim, come with a 6-way manually adjustable driver's seat and a 4-way manually adjustable front passenger's seat, both have manual height adjustment with fabric seat upholstery (LX - Black & EX - Ivory). Automatic air conditioning is standard as is LED ambient console lighting. 

The Touring Trim (MSRP - $29,040) comes with heated front row seats with an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat with ivory perforated leather upholstery. The Honda Insight has a trunk capacity of 15.1 cu.ft. (14.7 cu.ft. in the Touring trim to accommodate the premium sound system), this space is less than both the Hyundai Ioniq and the Toyota Prius.

The 2021 Honda Insight is equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen that comes with the basics of Bluetooth connectivity, Pandora compatibility, radio, USB audio interface, and a 6-speaker sound system. The EX comes with a bigger 8-inch touchscreen and comes with a volume knob, and also customizable.

The system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SMS text function, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD radio, and 2 USB ports with an 8-speaker sound system. The Touring trim adds to the EX system with Honda Satellite linked Navigation system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 10-speaker premium sound system.

Grown up, moved out, and moved up, the 2021 Insight takes the Civic’s youthful personality and puts it into middle management

The 2021 Honda Insight takes styling cues from both the Civic and Accord. Even though it is hybrid, it does not look like one, but, the Hybrid badges on the front fender and on the trunk lid give it away. The front fascia does feature a chrome grille and LED headlights and the rear fascia does feature LED taillights. The touring trim will add LED foglights, chrome exterior accents, and a power moonroof

A set of 16-inch wheels are standard on LX and EX, 17-inch is standard on the Touring with the option of 17-inch alloys available on all trims. There are also exterior black sports styling and chrome styling packages along with many accessories. The exterior color options are a few the LX only getting two, and the 2021 model year gets the addition of Radiant Red Metallic paint.

In terms of dimensions, the 2021 Insight, Hyundai Ioniq, and Toyota Prius all have the same wheelbase of 106.3 inches with the Honda Insight being the longest of 183.6-inches in length 3.6-inches longer than the Prius and 7.6-inches longer than the Ioniq. The Insight is also shortest in height measuring 55.6-inches.

The 2021 Honda Insight comes with an overall safety rating of 5-stars, out of a possible 5-stars, from the NHTSA. In IIHS testing the 2021 Insight has scored an overall "Good" rating and also has been awarded "2021 Top Safety Pick+" for the small car/4-door sedan category.

The 2021 Insight comes with many driver-assist and safety features and includes Honda Sensing Suite of driver-assist features (standard on all trims), tire pressure monitoring system, multi-angle rearview camera, brake assist, and many more. There is the addition of Blind-spot assist with rear-cross traffic alert to the 2021 model and is available on the EX and Touring trim as standard features.

2021 Honda Insight vs. 2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid

The 2021 Hyundai Ioniq is as close as can be to the Honda Insight in terms of power and performance, but for a hybrid, the most important is fuel economy where the Ioniq offers better mpg figures and driving range. The Ioniq also comes with more trunk space than the Insight. However, the Hyundai Ioniq is $1,300 cheaper than the 2021 Insight making it a good option.

2021 Honda Insight vs. 2021 Toyota Prius

The 2021 Toyota Prius in comparison to the Insight comes with lesser power and performance, but better fuel economy and also more cargo space. However, in terms of rear-seat space the Insight offers much more and is more affordable than the Prius too, making the 2021 Insight a better option.
