Overall Rating
Sport utility vehicles are nothing new to Audi. It has several SUVs in its lineup already. But it hasn't had one with the SQ-badging, which uses the word 'sport' sparingly.
Sport utility vehicles are nothing new to Audi. It has several SUVs in its lineup already. But it hasn't had one with the SQ-badging, which uses the word 'sport' sparingly. The SQ7 aims to change that by adding sporty qualities, luxury features, and the high level of performance expected from an Audi SUV. At the heart of everything Audi does is driving innovation and design excellence. The 2022 Audi SQ7 is no exception. It is as sporty as it is practical, offering high performance, advanced technology, and an extra measure of luxury.
There will be two SQ7 trim levels to choose from in 2022, both offering the same powertrain. Our recommendation is to go with the base Premium Plus trim, which offers a significant number of standard features and represents decent value for money.

Like its predecessor, the 2022 Audi SQ7 will also be offered in two trims: Premium Plus and Prestige. Each is equipped with a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque plus an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. While both trims offer the same performance, the Prestige offers additional features.
The Premium Plus price starts at $87,595, while the Prestige is $92,495 with additional destination charges. Audi has equipped both trims with plenty of standard features like Premium leather upholstery, quad-zone climate control, adaptive air suspension, power-adjustable front seats, and many more. Both trims come equipped with the latest Audi MMI infotainment system, which includes an upper display of 10.1 inches and a lower display of 8.6 inches, which offers both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Audi has not released any official information regarding the release date of the 2022 Audi SQ7. Nevertheless, we anticipate that the SQ7 will launch by the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.
A similar engine will power the 2022 Audi SQ7 as it did on its predecessor. It is powered by a turbocharged 6.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 568 lb-ft of torque and 500 horsepower that powers all four wheels of the SUV. This enormous amount of power is delivered through an eight-speed automatic transmission that is both smooth and quick. It comes with Audi's trademark Quattro all-wheel-drive system working in conjunction with the performance boost.
With its 155 mph top speed, the 2022 Audi SQ7 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just over 4.5 seconds, and can cover a quarter-mile in just over 12.9 seconds. A car this big can hardly be called sporty, but Audi's handling is well-balanced, and body roll seems to be well-controlled. With all-wheel steering, you'll be able to move around easily at low speeds, while being precise at higher speeds. It has an exceptionally good adaptive sport air suspension that is exceptionally well suited to roads with a lot of undulation. Moreover, the vehicle features several different drive modes, including ‘Offroad, Allroad, Comfort, Auto, and Dynamic’.

In comparison to the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the BMW X5 features a slightly bigger 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, but its acceleration times are significantly slower. While Jaguar F-pace has the most grunt at its disposal, it can also rev to a top speed of 178 mph, which no other car in the competition can achieve.
It's no secret that high-powered engines return poor fuel economy. Even though the Twin Turbo V8 produces a great deal of horsepower, it sure is thirstier and consumes a lot of gas. EPA estimates the 2022 Audi SQ7 to return 17 mpg combined with 15 mpg while cruising through the city and 21 mpg while on the highway. The fuel economy for this V8 is fairly decent given the performance provided. Its fuel tank holds 22.5 gallons of gasoline. One full tank can cover approximately 380 miles in a combined driving cycle, so when on a family road trip, it is unlikely that you will need regular refills.

With comparable fuel economy figures and almost identical driving ranges, the Jaguar F-Pace and the BMW X5 are almost identical and drive equally efficient. Although it is not by a huge margin, the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio returns the best fuel economy thanks to its small engine. On average, all of the aforementioned vehicles return similar mpg figures.
The 2022 Audi SQ7 is a luxury sport utility vehicle that can be the perfect pick for those looking to enjoy a smooth and comfortable ride each time they hit the road. It boasts a thoroughly practical SUV design and is also outstanding when it comes to the interior. A driver-oriented cockpit, high levels of standard equipment, and extended infotainment options make the spacious interior a place you'll feel right at home in. The interior is roomy and well thought out, offering passengers a great scape of luxury in every dimension.
Seating for seven is possible in this luxury SUV with three rows. You'll get more out of your experience if you sit near the front. Supportive, well-cushioned, and spacious, the front seats are a true pleasure to spend time in. Despite the lack of bolstering in the second row, it should be comfortable for adults, though they might slide around when the Audi turns. Third-row space is tight and not recommended for adults. In terms of storage, we get a decent 14.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row and 35.7 cubic feet when the third-row seats are folded. Power-adjustable heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a power-folding third-row are all standard. Audi provides many additional options such as heated second-row seats, ventilated front seats, massaged front seats, leather upholstery, and a heated steering wheel that will further enhance your seating experience.

The BMW X5 boasts a spacious and comfortable cabin, as well as an impressive trunk. It is less spacious inside than the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, but offers ample cargo space as a consequence. Additionally, the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio offers a similar level of comfort as the rest of its competitors, but it has the least amount of cargo space. The X5 has the most cargo space of any SUV on the market. There are no other SUVs available with three rows except for the SQ7. Some of the noteworthy interior features of the 2022 Audi SQ7 include:
While the interior of the 2022 SQ7 is luxurious, its infotainment system is among the best. Despite the SQ7's high level of contemporary design, there is still a wide range of electronics, gadgets, and functions within its cabin to meet your infotainment needs. The vehicle features a 10.1-inch touchscreen that has an Audi Virtual Cockpit as its center display, which handles all vehicle monitoring and entertainment functions. Moreover, the climate control and other features are handled by an additional 8.6-inch touchscreen interface. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the infotainment system supports all the latest connectivity features. In addition, Audi's Virtual Cockpit is the most intuitive in this class. Rather than a traditional gauge cluster, this system uses a 12.3-inch digital display, which requires less attention while driving.
The 2022 Audi SQ7 infotainment includes the following features:
In line with the 2021 model, the 2022 Audi SQ7 also features a lightweight unibody structure that helps to reduce vehicle weight and enhances performance. The lightweight and highly rigid body have been fitted with an aluminum hood and front fenders and doors, while the rest of the body has been made from high-strength steel. The fully aluminum-intensive chassis offers high stiffness while placing less stress on the suspension system. Fog lamps feature LED technology, which provides excellent illumination along with aesthetically designed front headlamp units.
With subtle design and sleek edges, the front, top, and back of this SUV are all well designed. In the side view, you can see the 21-inch V-shaped alloy wheels which have been coated in a silver finish along with the red brake calipers that attenuate the sporty character of this SUV. A unique feature of the car is its aggressive styling, which is reflected in the chrome trim on the windows, door blades, roof rails, front grille, rear trunk area, and smooth lines that contribute to the SUV’s aerodynamic and aesthetic feel.

It's the BMW X5 and Jaguar F-Pace that have the largest and widest dimensions, and both have the best ground clearance of these SUVs. In terms of wheelbase, the Stelvio has the shortest followed by the Jaguar F-Pace. While the Stelvio has the most aggressive appearance, the F-Pace has a sleeker aesthetic. Highlights of the 2022 Audi SQ7 exterior include:
NHTSA and IIHS have not conducted crash tests on the Audi SQ7 for 2022. Therefore, there is no data on its safety. Despite this, the German manufacturer has done its best to build a safe vehicle in every way. A number of safety features can be found on the 2022 Audi SQ7, such as Electronic Stability Control, Roll Stability Control, ABS, Traction Control, Blind Spot Assist, Dual-Stage Airbags, and Airbag occupancy sensor. The Audi's aluminum and lightweight design make it a promising vehicle to drive, and its cabin offers a promising place to sit and rest.
The 2022 Audi SQ7 has plenty of advanced active safety systems to make sure you get to your destination safely, including the following:
The 2021 BMW X5 is probably the only real rival for Audi SQ7 when it comes to engine capacity. In terms of all other factors, X5 outperforms the SQ7 in all categories except practicality with seven seats. With five people in it, it offers a more comfortable ride, has further power, is more efficient, and is cheaper as well. However, the SQ7 also has a fair share of advantages, including its practicality and technological capabilities.
The Jaguar F-Pace is a model that has earned a lot of praise in the automotive industry. The design of the Jaguar is quite beautiful, and it overshadows the Audi SQ7 in many ways. It is also true that the F-Pace is more fuel-efficient and handles very well. Also, the F-Pace is much more affordable and is a very attractive proposition.
If you are looking for an Italian SUV that is both elegant and highly capable, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is an excellent choice. Although it is not practical, it is highly capable in terms of driving dynamics. However, the interior of the Audi is luxurious and plusher. Audi offers a significantly more striking ride than other cars due to its engine and powerline, and its enhanced suspension makes for an exciting and refreshing drive.
There is no denying the fact that the 2022 Audi SQ7 is a unique vehicle in its segment. What makes it an even more attractive proposition is its superior ride quality, excellent cabin ambiance, build quality, and those visual highlights. While it shares some parts and underpinnings with the next iteration of the Q7, it's a characteristically sportier offering, and nicely complements Audi's SUV lineup. When you're behind the wheel, life just seems to roll out with a little more pep in its step!
