Overall Rating
For the 2022 Cadillac XT6, we expect to see the same overall design being carried over from 2021 MY, which is inspired by GMC Acadia. Speaking of the looks, the SUV is already a sassy-looking car and has a commanding presence on the streets
The Cadillac XT6 comes with three major changes for the 2022 model year. These include the addition of blind-spot monitoring and rear-cross traffic assist as standard safety features to the luxury trim, and the Sport trim comes with Brembo performance brakes with red calipers. The rest of the SUV is the same as the 2021 XT6. Prices for the 2022 Cadillac XT6 start from $48,595 for the base 2WD Luxury trim and go all the way to $58,295 for the Sport trim.
On the powertrain front, Cadillac offers two engine options on the XT6 - a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 making 235 hp and a 3.6L V6 making 310 hp. The interior as you expect comes with all the luxury features available and an 8-inch touchscreen. All this is available at a starting MSRP of $49,790, bringing it into direct competition with the GMC Acadia, Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, and Audi Q7.
The Premium Luxury trim strikes the best balance between both features and performance as it embodies the 3.6L V6 and a ton load of driver-centric and comfort-friendly features as well and which is why it becomes our recommendation for the trim to choose.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class comes with more power, better performance, larger towing capacity, and even better mpg figures. However, the GLE-Class comes with seating for 5 occupants, lesser than the XT6. That said, the GLE-Class also comes priced nearly $5,000 more than the Cadillac, making it a good option instead of the Cadillac XT6.
The GMC Acadia does come with lesser power compared to the Cadillac XT6 but comes with a higher towing capacity and better fuel economy numbers as well. That said, the SLT trim of the GMC Acadia does come with premium features which are a good bonus but one can argue about the level of luxury offered. The GMC Acadia (SLT) is priced at nearly $10,000 lesser than the Cadillac, making it an attractive offering for a similar product.
The Audi Q7 comes with more power and better performance and better towing capacity. The Q7 does offer lesser MPG figures but comes with a better driving range due to a bigger fuel tank. The interior does come with similar space but Audi Q7 comes with better trunk space. The Audi Q7 is priced at $5,000 more but with what's on offer, it makes the Audi Q7 worth it.
The 2022 Cadillac XT6 comes with two good powertrain options but the V6 is a better option and also comes with better towing capacity. But all XT6 comes filled with many luxuries and safety features as well. However, if you are looking for better performance, the Audi Q7 is the one to look at, but if you are looking for a more value for money the GMC Acadia is one to look at.
