"The Trailblazer's snazzy styling, spacious cabin, and nimbleness are hampered by sluggish powertrains." - Car And Driver
The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer blazes 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque with its 1.2L Turbo I-3 ECOTEC engine. This engine comes hitched with a CVT in FWD layout as a standard configuration for the LS and LT trims. Alongside that, there is a 1.3L Turbo I-3 as well that ponies 155 hp and 174 lb-ft torque but can be availed of as an inherent beast only for the Activ and RS editions.
Though FWD is the base platform for the Chevy Trailblazer, AWD finds its realm too at an extra $2,000 for the LS and LT and an additional $1,500 for the Activ and RS. This also brings in a 9-speed automatic transmission in power delivery replacing that CVT. Meanwhile, the Activ cruises on its off-road suspension that allows it to be more nimble even on gravels resulting in supremacy over other siblings.
The Trailblazer has no official 0-60 MPH timing for its smaller ECOTEC engine but one might accelerate to 60 MPH from standstill within 9.4 seconds when the 1.3L Turbo I-3 beats. Not just that, a top speed of up to 130 MPH is certain on your dashboard with that engine. Considering the braking efficiency, its 11.8-inch front and 10.4-inch rear disc brakes halt it in less than 174 ft from 70-0 MPH irrespective of the trim.

Costing almost the same, the Mazda CX-30 bashes 49 hp higher power and 24 lb-ft more torque than the Chevy Trailblazer. This allows the CX-30 to be quicker than the Trailblazer on the straights while 0-60 MPH by more than 1.8 seconds. On the other hand, both Hyundai Kona and Kia Seltos have been designed with 30 lb-ft lower torque that gives hauling band in the hands of Chevrolet.
