The Patriot limited with the four-wheel-drive system and 2.4L engine takes 10.3 seconds to reach 60 mph from 0, which is one of the slowest crossover SUVs. The engine feels dull and the CVT lacks the sudden power delivery. The throttle response is naïve and the brakes are not great.

Since the primary focus was on off-road capability and the four-wheel-drive system, the fuel economy is very poor. While the standard front-wheel-drive model gives better economy than a four-wheel drive, it is not still up to the segment standards. But the decent 13.5-gallon fuel tank will help for better range and will last for a trip into the woods.

The interior of the Patriot looks a little utilitarian. But when looked closely, low-quality materials can be seen all around. Cheap and hard plastic materials make the cabin dull. The basic sports variant lacks even basic features like air conditioning.

The rear legroom is so small that it is very difficult for grownups to sit. User-friendly controls and dials make commuting easy. The touchscreen UI feels outdated and takes time to respond.
