Although the base LS trim does offer a good amount of practicality, opting for the 1LT trim will add even more functionality while also raising the prices to a bare minimum. The 1Lt trim comes with a variety of features like rear parking sensors, 8-way power driver seat, emergency braking assist, and more to become a value for money offering in the lineup.

The 2015 Chevy Traverse is offered with a single engine, a 3.6-liter V6 churning out 281 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission only. The power is set to the front wheels as standard and one can also opt for the AWD setup if need be.

The performance from this engine is decent, but it is nothing groundbreaking as such, as the 0-60 sprint is done in 8.1 seconds while the 16.4 seconds for quarter-mile and the 2,000 lbs of towing capacity are also just average. 

The Honda Pilot is the most affordable offering in this comparison, but it has the lowest engine output to offer, which translates to lethargic acceleration performance. The Ford Explorer is the quickest of the lot, while the Dodge Durango has the highest towing capacity, which is 2.5 times that of the other crossovers here. 

The large brawny engines aren’t as efficient as the four-cylinder or turbocharged ones, and the Chevy Traverse is also not as frugal as one would want it to be. There is sufficient space on offer for all the passengers and their luggage, but the rearward visibility is hindered when loaded with the people and isn’t that great when empty as well.
