Other engine options include a 5.7L V8 that is capable of making 360 hp and 390 lb-ft. of torque which is optional on all but the base trim. The engine's power is transferred to the wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

All the trims come standard with an RWD drivetrain but a 4WD system is available. The Grand Cherokee had a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds, which is really amazing. It offers a quiet ride but the ride quality is a bit firm for our tase. The steering is nicely weighted and its short turning radius makes it easy to maneuver at tight turns.

The V8 is powerful enough to fly this SUV to 60 MPH in 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 140 MPH. The brake pedal is very sensitive and even a small force can bring this hefty SUV to stop in 125 feet.
