The 2017 Honda Civic rides in 5 trims, the starter among them is the LX for a price tag of $18,740. It gets 5-inch color display, cloth seats, 4-speaker audio system, and 16-inch steel wheels in its standard list. The EX configuration stands next to it costing $21,140 for which it features 16-inch alloy wheels, Apple Carplay & Android Auto, and 7-inch high resolution touchscreen.

The EX-T edition at $21,500 is the next one to showcase its virtues like the bigger 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The EX-L gets a little more expensive at $23,800 for leather-trimmed interior and 8-way power driver's seat. While, the Touring with an investment of $26,600 calls for premium audio, power-heating in both rows, and Honda Sensing.

The EX-T trim is the best trade among for its perfect balance between power with 1.5T I-4 egine and comfort seating with power-heated high-cushioned buckets. The safety screws are also sufficient in their own regards for this configuration. So, one should definitely consider it over other siblings.

The 2017 Honda Civic summons a 2.0L I-4 engine that produces 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. It is the entry-level powertrain in the LX and EX editions that hooks either with a 6-speed manual or CVT in standard FWD as per trim specific.  

The elder one is the 1.5T I-4 beast that beats 174 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque for the EX-T, EX-L, and Touring configuration. It can also be availed of with the CVT and 6-speed manual but the latter is exclusive for the EX-T format only.

As far as performance is concerned, the Civic times 8.2 seconds for 0-60 MPH and 16.3 seconds for the quarter-mile with its 2.0L I-4. While, the Civic 1.5T can do the same 0-60 MPH in nearly 6.7 seconds with a similar top speed of 119 MPH.  

As per data, the Civic is 0.1 seconds faster than the Hyundai Elantra in both 0-60 MPH and quarter-mile drag for an expense that is $1,000 higher. It even has got 26 hp more power and 10 lb-ft better torque than the Toyota Corolla despite being $700 cheaper.

The 2017 Honda Civic with its base offering gives an EPA rating of 25 MPG in the city, 36 MPG on the highway, and 29 MPG combined. The Honda equips the Civic with a 12.4-gallon fuel tank allowing it to have a range of 360 miles for your daily commutes. 

Going by the range reach, the Corolla has 62 miles better combined range than the Civic owing to its 3 MPG higher economy and 0.8-gallon bigger tank. Hyundai Elantra and Mazda 3 have also got higher stamina in range coverage that help them to have 49 miles and 46 miles better travel respectively.
