Still, if you really must have the Range Rover, spend more and get one. For most of us, Sport is more than enough. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SE comes packed with a 3.0L supercharged V-6 engine along with an 8-speed automatic transmission that manages to give out an output of 340 bhp @ 6,500 rpm and 332 lb-ft @5,500. The engine delivers the power smoothly and stays hushed through most of the rev range.

The Porsche Cayenne also offers a V6, but is considerably less on power at 300 bhp. The Volvo XC90 only offers Turbo-supercharged Inline-4, but the Q7 is available with a V6. It can be seen that the Volvo XC90 is quite efficient in this segment. The low displacement engine in Volvo helps it to achieve superior mileage figures.
